I know we don't have many choices but I'm trying to get the new year off to a dynamic start hmm

I've been a bit lazy of late, to put it mildly, so trying to remedy that and not have too many Groundhog Days.

I'm having a second coffee whilst I plan my day!

Bijou Fri 01-Jan-21 11:28:17

Sorting out my freezer and making some bread. Then watching a DVD and probably falling asleep half way through.

I move never adhered to the 12th night ritual with decorations l take them down when I m fed up with them ....the sky won’t fall in it’s not a law just something adhered to by some and not by others It’s all fine

Aepgirl Fri 01-Jan-21 11:34:37

Had my morning walk. Now relaxing with a cup of coffee, and the New Year’s Day concert from Vienna - planning what exciting things I can do today.

My decorations stay up until 12th night, so not doing that today.

Painting a couple of bird nesting boxes for granddaughters birthday later in the month, then dropping off daughter’s birthday present in a doorstep visit later. We are in a bubble but I’ve decided not to go inside for the time being.

Happysexagenarian Fri 01-Jan-21 11:36:54

Washing , ironing, vacuum, and make mince pies.

Harris27 Fri 01-Jan-21 11:38:22

Not taking the des down just yet. Maybe Sunday as I’m back to work Monday. I’m being positive and having a long lie in after late evening just drinking wine and listening to telly. So today I will eventually tidy and potter about light lunch and plenty of tv.

midgey Fri 01-Jan-21 11:40:38

My daughter has just told me that one shouldn’t dust on New Year’s Day, you wipe off all the good luck! Excellent news....I’ll just have another cup of tea then.

Jaxjacky Fri 01-Jan-21 11:42:29

Not a lot, have a 50th birthday card to deliver, dinner is a ready made pasta dish for DH and leftover cottage pie for me. I have stopped freezing remnants of meals that only feed one, they tend to lurk in the freezer taking space, we’ll have to work dinner round watching Dr Who, we both love it. Quick walk after lunch, it’s very cold and murky here.

Knittynatter Fri 01-Jan-21 11:43:43

I’m taking the tree down and listening to the new year concert from Vienna. It’s lovely ?

Forestflame Fri 01-Jan-21 11:49:55

Purplepoppies sending you a (virtual) hug.
I have tidied my kitchen and made a casserole. I have a large pile of ironing to tackle and then I am going for a much needed run

Foxyferret Fri 01-Jan-21 11:50:42

Transferring old info into new diary. Cooking roast beef and Yorkshire pud later. Not doing my tree and decks until 12th night, we are very traditional here.

sandelf Fri 01-Jan-21 11:51:19

Went for a walk locally - birds were singing, people said happy new year, there was no squalid debris from 'celebrations'. Did online Pilates Zoom class, put car battery on to charge, defrosting fish for lunch.

Theoddbird Fri 01-Jan-21 11:51:32

I am just going to put a potato in my burner to bake for my lunch and then I will don my Wellingtons and take my toilet cassette in my wagon to empty...a weekly task.

Daftbag1 Fri 01-Jan-21 11:53:58

It's my birthday, and I'm having an all day pj party day, just me, hubby and the dog. I'm sat in bed surrounded by sweets and chocolates, and my beautiful, kind daughter has arranged a take away meal to be delivered this evening, so I'm feeling very spoilt!

clareken Fri 01-Jan-21 11:57:59

Christmas dinner with the DGC, (our childcare bubble) as we didn't see them last week. Wrapping paper is picked up, and toys are being played with.

Craftycat Fri 01-Jan-21 12:00:37

It's very cold & frosty & I was up very late last night having seen New Year in & got interested in something on TV afterwards so I am staying indoors.
I had taken all decorations down anyway so I am hoping for a quiet day catching up on what I missed on TV over last few days.
There are still leftovers around so not much cooking either.

Sarahmob Fri 01-Jan-21 12:04:02

I’m planning a lazy day from here, I’ve just been out for a long walk in the Marsh, got back and warmed up with a hot chocolate and am settling down for an afternoon with my book. Planning a ‘picky’ dinner this evening to finish off some of the remaining Christmas treats and maybe an episode of Endeavour. My favourite kind of day.

Calendargirl

Hung out a load of washing, dry and sunny at the moment, but probably rain later.

Put up new calendars.

Just looking at Gransnet now.

Hi there, what country do you live in then as its freezing cold hear in the South East UK so washing would just go as stiff as a board lol

What am I doing today?hmm Easy peasy. Same as I have done since March 2020 when we were once again at war, this time with an invisible foe.Stayed safe, no matter how it has disrupted my way of life, at least I am still breathing.

readalot Fri 01-Jan-21 12:19:31

I'm not doing a lot today. Going in the bath shortly. Got a nice piece of Gannon for our tea, I will do some toast taties, carrots ,parsnips and some garden peas with it. I've been sitting here since 8.30 trying to get motivated. Nothing much happening yet. I've had a lazy year. My new years resolution is to do better this year.

midgey Fri 01-Jan-21 12:19:59

Nanasue even if the washing is frozen it will have dried quite a bit and the whites will be whiter!

Dancinggran Fri 01-Jan-21 12:23:07

Collecting a key to go and photograph some furniture to advertise. My aunt, mum's sister passed away on Christmas Eve, aged 89. We've spent time since Christmas sorting through things but as I'm back at work next week could do with getting rid of ASAP, so keys can be handed back at the end of next week. It has been made more difficult with being in Tier 4.

Riverwalk Fri 01-Jan-21 12:24:06

After breakfast of spinach & eggs, 10 minutes tidy-up, and a bath I finally got dressed and went for an hour's walk with my friend.

Called into the deli for some tasty goodies & wine and now along with many others listening to the NYD concert from Vienna.

All good smile

Jac53 Fri 01-Jan-21 12:27:42

Carer came for my husband at 9 so I didn't get much of a lie in. General tidy up day really. Too slippery out atm but I usually walk along the cliff top and breathe sea air. We had a cooked breakfast and are now listening to Frank Sinatra cd's.

Visgir1 Fri 01-Jan-21 12:34:35

Normal we host The Grown ups New Year's eve bash, for neighbours, so normally spend a big chuck of the day clearing up, but not today. Got up drank tea and watched Netflix while DH stayed in bed, it was a lovely start to 2021. Hopefully back to normal next New year's eve.
