Sorry to read of your problems.
At the risk of causing you more work, if the problem doesn't lessen with ventilation, (Thank goodness its summer /autumn and reasonably dry and warm ) could you paint over it with an interior paint to seal in whatever is causing your problem?

Hopefully a gentle breeze with windows open on both sides of the house will help to dispel whatever is irritating your eyes.
Obviously, from the security point of view don't leave the windows open if you go out or are in the garden, if there is any chance of anyone being able to open the window wider and get in!

So funny Merylstreep bully for her, when I am strong I am able to think like that but wen you hear that kind of stuff coming from your own son its debilitating really but you post made me laugh and reminded me that that's the attitude that I need to have, the attitude that I grew up having grateful beyond words to you ?

MOnica thank you, believe it or not I preach that often that we are all good at different things and of course you are right and helps to be reminded by a caring thought Thank you for taking the time I really appreciate it x

Msida

? hope you're ok now, at least the weather is good (well, it is here) so I hope you can give the place a good airing.

I use that paint for fireplace wall wher multi fuel fire is situated. No problems for me. Also on wall where conservatory is attached.

They add stuff to exterior paint to help with mildew and water on exterior walls so that's why the smell would be stronger. Just air the house really well and the smell should go in a few days.

Msida, you could have used interior paint and had the same reaction. Some people just have that problem. When my children make out I am stupid, I point out that I taught them to wipe their backsides and to eat using cutlery! The arrogance of the young gets given back to them when they are old so I have a chuckle about that too.
My daughter reacts badly to new plaster, she almost goes into anaphylactic shock which was frightening the first time it happened.
As the others say, good ventilation and sitting in another room whilst the fume dissipate.
As we are on a decorating spree due to wanting to sell, I sympathise because it is so tedious. Nice when its finished but long winded and messy whilst doing it.

Msida just take a moment and work out what it is you need to do. Accept your DS offer of help , good boy! Ignore your little brat of a younger DS (sounds like a right know all!) Contact sandtex via their website it's easier than trying to call. Keep your home well ventilated too, and wishing you a speedy solution to your little dilemma, its little and you can deal with it I'm sure! x

Sympathies to you. I hope you feel better soon on all fronts. My last house had a tiny bathroom that however wide the window was open always succumbed to black mould. Exterior masonry paint was the only thing that stopped this. Once dry, no nasty fumes, just mould free ceiling!

Aneeba faced with the same problem we used an interior paint, formulated specifically for this problem, which included a fungicide safe for interior use and worked just as well. It is a Wickes own brand product .
