I've not long had breakfast but it was very meagre - a bit of granola and yoghurt. I'm quite well stocked with goodies but can't decide what to have and need some inspiration.

What are your eating plans for the day?

Dinner was cauliflower cheese and jacket potatoes. Delish.

Beans on toast for lunch today. I've got some left over from Thursday which I forgot to eat yesterday.
Something with sweet potatoes this evening. I bought a new bagful this week.

I’ve been busy in the kitchen preparing an afternoon tea for my parents (part of their Christmas present). On the menu

Chicken and lime mayonnaise sandwiches
Salmon and cucumber sandwiches
Individual quiches
Home made toasted muffins

Scones, jam and clotted cream

Passion fruit and raspberry tarts
Fruit cake
Orange spice cake

So that’s for eating at our house today ?

That will be a fabulous afternoon tea Sarahmob. How lucky are your parents?
Homemade soup and bread roll at the Golf Club for me (lunch) and haven’t decided about the evening meal yet …….

Chicken Korma and rice today, later, with some roasted mixed peppers.

EllanVannin Sat 15-Jan-22 12:05:21

Very likely the same tomorrow as I took more than the quota of chicken slices out of the freezer last night, but never mind it'll get eaten.

Brunch is about to be a healthy mix of fruit, yoghurt and nuts. Evening will be a Kilmarnock pie. Only roughly know what it is but another of my curiosity boxes will be ticked. Really looking forward to it.

I've put a spicy oxtail stew in the slow cooker for later. Will take out the bones and add some cannelloni beans (tinned/drained) at some point later on this afternoon/evening

Serendipity22 Sat 15-Jan-22 12:30:35

Lunch will be a light bite because we have booked a meal out for tea.....

No toying with what to make, no preparation, no washing up .... yeaaahhhh job done.

I had cereal and fruit about an hour ago, brunch. Dinner will be chicken and spinach in the slow cooker, new potatoes, carrots and cauli.

We had a family buffet yesterday and I ate so much I didn't need breakfast. I've just had a slice of leftover quiche and one of pizza for lunch, with some fruit. We're going out for tea so I'd better choose a healthy option.

Serendipity22 Sun 16-Jan-22 13:38:57

For lunch today i have had something i very rarely have.... soup.

I pulled out the cupboard that has racks of tins and blah blah blah, spotted mushroom soup, da-dahhh that was my lunch.

Dinner! I haven't conjured up any thought on that yet.
Whatever it is, it will be simple.smile

EllanVannin Sun 16-Jan-22 13:40:21

------same as yesterday grin

Kamiso Sun 16-Jan-22 13:43:56

Porridge and toast for breakfast.

Goat’s cheese and red onion tart for lunch. I spotted them in Lidl this morning.

Pork chops this evening. I’d prefer roast pork etc but que sera!

Witzend Sun 16-Jan-22 13:45:43

Lunch, I’m about to have some very crisped up streaky bacon that needs using, with fried potatoes (leftover boiled from last night), tomatoes and mushrooms. More of a brunch really but I’ve had no actual breakfast.

Dh will probably have his usual hummus/carrots/egg, salad stuff.

Dinner tonight will be a very substantial and extra curry-ish mulligatawny soup, using up some bits of leftover turkey from the freezer.

Sarahmob Sun 16-Jan-22 13:50:42

I’ve just had a Sunday roast cooked by my lovely husband, which is the first thing I’ve eaten today as I don’t eat breakfast. I may have some fruit/cheese and biscuits later if and when I get hungry.

grandtanteJE65 Sun 16-Jan-22 13:54:32

Lunch is a movable feast in our house and usually just a bit of bread and something.

Dinner is going to be pork liver and onions in brown sauce with potatoes and pickled beetroot. I'm getting hungry just writing this.

glammanana Sun 16-Jan-22 14:22:28

Breakfast was toast and thick cut marmalade Sunday lunch for me & next door neighbour will be roasted chicken 3 veg & roast and mashed potato's my neighbour will have a rice pudding which he likes its the only proper meal he eats during the week at least I know he is well fed on Sunday's.

Rosiebee Sun 16-Jan-22 14:29:59

Really enjoyed reading all these threads as I attempt to plan next week's meals so when DH asks "What's for lunch / tea/"......
On Saturday I made Guacamole [ Delia's version] with tortilla crisps and for tea it was Chicken Fajitas with M&S Mexican dips.

Kim19 Sun 16-Jan-22 14:30:31

I've another 'experiment' tonight. Haggis, turnip & potato balls coated in breadcrumbs to be placed in warm oven for 12 minutes. That's enough prep and cooking for me. If rubbish, no problem. They were as cheap as chips (but probably only half as nice!).

Redhead56 Sun 16-Jan-22 14:37:33

I had haggis for breakfast keeping the rest for Burns night meal. Roast beef for tea and another lemon pudding Auntie Flo recipe I am going to put weight on at this rate.

Patsy70 Sun 16-Jan-22 15:00:50

Breakfast was homemade granola with chopped pear and yoghurt. Lunch was pate, with toast and chutney. Dinner will be homemade lasagne and salad, and if there’s room bread & butter pudding, made with panettone.
