Service as usual in the Argy folks but with the addition of our new roof top tea garden. In the words of the famous Basil Fawlty, no riffraff. ?

Oh no *Polomint' - hats would be perfect. Please!
We do envisage our little venture will be just like this☺️

An Easter bonnet parade. What a wonderful idea. A free cream tea for the best one?

brook2704 Wed 31-Mar-21 12:43:52

Oooh no problem doodle I’m a dab hand at putting up bunting having been involved in many a party in the past
Do you think this is classy enough?
Errr I think those waiters might be a bit risqué for upstairs grandmajet ....

grandmajet Wed 31-Mar-21 13:16:50

Lovely bunting, brook, very classy.
Do the waiters need bigger bow ties? I’ll have a word with them.
Excited for the big opening, I’m practising walking in a refained manner, and keeping the buttons on my blouse done up.

ixion Wed 31-Mar-21 13:35:00

Sorry I'm late back.
I have been foraging for flowers for the posy vases. What do you think? Honestly, the stuff people throw away before its time. Compost heaps are a great source of recycled beauty.
I could only get a dozen fluffy chicks in the end, to promote the Easter theme. But they do look lovely, scurrying about around the chairs and tables and squeaking excitedly!
I just hope the punters ladeeze don't feed them cake and sandwiches.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 15:29:16

I have organised some chimenieres for tomorrow as it may be a bit chilly. We don't want the laydees getting goose pimples.
Posies sound good ixion but not sure about the chicks as they will get trodden on by clumsy waiters.
The Admiral has smartened himself up and booked a table. As you know he is a stranger to soap and water so I told him no shower no table.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 15:32:17

grandmajet can you ask the waiters to wear shirts. We have a Duke and Duchess booked in for tomorrow and we don't want to look as though we've hired the Chippendales.

Doodle Wed 31-Mar-21 15:34:10

grandmajet brilliant idea. An Easter Bonnet tea. All the laydees in their hats and all the boys in bow ties and aprons.

Doodle Wed 31-Mar-21 15:36:06

AGA if you get the Admiral to wash it will be the first time ever ?
brook brilliant bunting. Perfect.
ixion live chicks ? hope they’re house trained ?

brook2704 Wed 31-Mar-21 15:55:29

Yes I agree AGA I think the waiters should wear shirts upstairs, I know that doesn’t happen downstairs but we have classy laydeeze up above who expect a certain standard .....

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 15:57:21

Doodle I just hope the Admiral won't get up to his usual tricks or he will scare off the clientele. I may have to tie him to his chair.
Can the waitresses wear bonnets too?

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 15:59:08

brook that is perfect. We need to set the right tone.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 15:59:38

Hope it’s not too posh for a pint of poteen in here? Tea and seed cake isn’t really my scene when I have had a tiring day (had to go and pay bail for Reggie...don’t ask!) was hoping to put my feet up in the comfy saggy chair in the bar, but it’s gone!!
I’m leaving four pairs of my old bloomers for you to cut up for use, as I have just bought a load of thongs ( glitter thongs, Reggie loves them, but then he doesn’t have to wear ‘em.)

An Easter bonnet tea, whatever next?! You will be joining the Dockside W.I. And doing bits of tatting with seaweed.
Hope you’re charging these ‘laydees’ loadsa money?

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:02:42

There is always a pint of poteen for you lemon and your comfy chair is in the cellar. Thor will bring it for you.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:04:01

The poteen is extra strong just how you like it and it sounds as though you need it today.

grandmajet Wed 31-Mar-21 16:04:20

Ok, brook and AGA, shirts it is. The waiters can always relax in the Argy bar later, if they have any energy left, and we can ogle, sorry, admire, them then!
I love the little posies, although some of the flowers do look a tad floppy. Maybe a spot of gin in the water will liven them up. Works for me!

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:06:39

Maybe that's why lemon is here. she has seen the handsome waiters coming in and I think Reggie is out of favour today.

grandmajet Wed 31-Mar-21 16:08:06

Hmm. She is showing a bit of glitter thong.

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:13:19

We can save one of the good looking young waiters for lemon as long as doodle doesn't get him first.

ixion Wed 31-Mar-21 16:17:59

Ooh lemon - Dockside W.I. ?
That was a tad barbed, n'est-ce pas??Are you having a bad day??

The Other Place, in Arragate, has come up with the idea of colouring- in Easter cards.
We could do some for the customers on the opening day as a souvenir, what d'you think?
Bring out the inner child in all of us. To make a change from the outer child here.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:24:50

Yes ixion I am having a bad day, I have had to pay Reggie’s bail money out of my own purse! What could be worse than that? The W.I. Suggestion was a joke.....obviously, as they wouldn’t have any of you lot ( take one look at your unfettered bazooms and laddered fishnet tights and run a mile.)?
They wouldn't have me either ( in my glitter thong.)

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:24:55

ixion if you had been to the Dockside WI you would know it is a bit different. The erm ladies wear Dock Martins and knuckle dusters and drink vodka. There is always a fight at the end.

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:26:18

AGA am very tempted by those waiters, save me a couple for later on?

lemongrove Wed 31-Mar-21 16:27:48

Is that Dock Martins, Doc Martens or Doc Martin??

AGAA4 Wed 31-Mar-21 16:27:53

You need to show a bit more bazoom lemon and they will come running.
