My nephew aged 9 was watching celebrity family fortunes the other day and apparently very disappointed that our family couldn't enter as we have no celebs amongst our number grin
Just wondering if any posters have well known relatives or friends?

None at all. Working class family without any glamour. The closest I have is my dil who is very well known in her own country and well known in her field here, but wouldn’t say she is famous. Jane Ainsworth Helena Bonham Carter is a aristo is she not? How fab, hope your side of the family has a stately pile to match!

Many would have had posters of my Brothers band on their bedroom wall.

A cousin was a bride in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Which one? Was it the first bride, who also used to be in the Philadelphia cheese ads?

My grandma made Queen Victoria’s underwear - does this count?

My childrens' ancestor invented the condenser for the steam engine. The Hornblower engine is in British museum. James Watt called them Evil Imps or some such.
I have seen letters between J.Hornblower and James Watt proving that Hornblower s idea was stolen by Watt. He stole the patent. Hornblowers let down was his heavy drinking.
These documents were shown to myself and my ex at Truro Museum.

My ancestor (GGGGGGFATHER!) is Robert Herrick the poet. These ancestors also had Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire requisitioned in WWII and it was never returned. It was sold by the MOD to the council in the’70s and we didn’t see a penny??

I have a relative , quite close , who was big in the TUC . He was offered a knighthood twice but , being a good socialist , he refused to accept the offer .
