Good morning all. I don’t generally post as don’t get round to reading everyone’s updates until late afternoon but I’m more organised today.
I so enjoy all the regulars - I feel like I know you all.
Bright skies and sunshine here in Norfolk this morning. Will wash bedding, clean windows then get out into the garden for a few hours if the sun remains. It so motivates me. I really struggle with grey days.
Apart from that I have virtual church at 10 and will then do my 5 minutes challenge which is a trick I learned from Lynsey Crombie in her book The Easy Life. I don’t like housework and have a cleaner on a Friday (she arrived on Friday after a 4 month hiatus) but like to keep my bungalow nice in between her visits. The challenge keeps me well on top of things and I seem able to manage it consistently.

Good Morning all from a very cold Glasgow, it's -5°C, ?with bright sunshine. Kalu, we don't have snow, it must be because your area is higher up than us thank goodness!
It never occurred to me that anyone would notice I hadn't posted yesterday, you really are a lovely lot! ? My intention was to post later, but circumstances overtook that idea.

I'm afraid I have been very naughty, 
, but sometimes you have to make a choice for your own wellbeing.
My out of the blue episode on Thursday and necessary stay in bed had upset my daughter, so on Friday she arrived with fish suppers for dinner, (to save me cooking) and to show off her new car, which she had unexpectedly picked up that day. She was like a wee girl again, just like the day she passed her test all those years ago, so full of excitement. It gave me such pleasure to see her joy.
She and my SIL as my carers, aware of how low and frustrated I was, had come up with a plan to cheer me up. They had decided to go to the 24hr Tesco superstore at 7am, when it would be deserted and if I felt OK, would I like come with them.
I used to frequent the Silverburn Mall, ( Litterpicker, another clue) every week, either shopping or lunching with my pals. The last time was February 2020!
DH laughed, as he thought I would never manage to be organised. ( Don't underestimate me, my darling! ) However, he did think getting out was a good idea, as long as I was extremely careful.) It also meant he had an empty for a change.
Knowing how unpredictable my health is, DD came up with a plan that DH would secretly message her at 6am with an update!
With great anticipation, ( and a touch of apprehension) I laid out my clothes and medication the night before.
Well I did get to go. The car parks were empty and the handful of customers and staff in this huge store were all masked, so for the first time on over a year, I felt quite reassured being out. If I had seen anyone maskless, I would have been very anxious. I'm exempt from wearing a mask, because of my COPD, but do wear one, although I find it difficult.
The trip had little to do with going shopping, but a lot about finding a light glimmering at the end of the very, dark tunnel I have been incarcerated in since the beginning of March 2019, a lifetime away.
I got carried away and bought all sorts of random stuff, I couldn't get on my online order: a drain rod, fuses, Gorilla Glue (reduced), sculpting, high waisted, perfect length jeans ( I needed some scaffolding for my lockdown body!) DH's favourite cherry liqueurs (usually bought in Rome) in the World food section and greatly reduced perennials, which had nothing wrong with them! (The conveyor belt was covered in soil. The assistant was not at all amused )
I got to the till, only to find I had no Tesco card, so couldn't use my stash of vouchers, which I had been saving to treat myself! ?
I generously put the points on DD's card, only for her to tell me, once I had paid, that she had just found My card in her purse! ?
We were safe back home by 9.45am and my intention was to sit in the sunny conservatory with a cuppa, peruse GN and post. I fell asleep and woke up at lunchtime! ????
I had just wakened, when DS2 and his fiancée arrived in the garden. I always suspect that there has been a secret family Whatsapp conference about me, when one of my children unexpectedly turns up! It means they are worried about me and have delegated someone one to visit. They think I don't know about this secret chat group! ?
He had come to take DH'S PC away to have a look at it. We had another power cut on Thursday and despite the PC having surge protect, something has blown. DS had just spent weeks upgrading it at considerable expense, much to DHs annoyance and frustraton.
I had spent a good part of Friday working on it, but eventually decided to relinquish the job to the geek!!
Baubles, I noticed you mentioned garden centres in the Valley, did you visit Silver Birch? My brother lives just down the road in a house which backs onto the river.?????

Jaxyjaxy, I was telling DH what horse you had picked for the National. As usual, he was only half listening and thought it was a tip from Beauregard! He couldn't wait to tell me that he had put on an each way bet for me, as a surprise! ? He means well.
So a very gentle day for me today, I am tired, but in good spirits, can't ask for much more! If its not too cold, I will footer and do some fire raising. I have lots of old school diaries to destroy, they are full of confidential information in them.
I didn't quite get it right the other day. There was so much smoke, I was afraid that, as we live near the fire station, ( Litterpicker ?) we may have had some strong, handsome firefighters ? appear! ?
Hoping that everyone has as pleasant a day as possible. For all who find it a battle to get through each day, ? and ?

Hello Mick and all from a very cold but sunny Cornwall. Rain during night had little effect.
Clever (NOT) me. Just deleted my whole post and can't undo. Will come back after I've had something to eat and start again. 
Main battle today is making my MacBook know where the printer is. It seems to have had a lapse in memory.
More to come when I'm replenished.

Another lovely sunny and bright start, but that bitterly breeze still persists and spoils it for me being such a cold creature.
A couple who live on the end, which is the full length of the garden here, are up with the lark these fine mornings and sitting in the sun as soon as it rises Nice couple.
Unless there's a warm breeze, I'm muffled up to the hilt.
No use me looking at sleeveless summery clothes without a thick cardigan to match. I'm hopeless.
Phoned D yesterday in between a shift she was working and she was telling me that she had her vax last week, then suffered the trots, so I said never mind you'll be able to see twice as far now. She'd been unsure of getting them but she's off to New York next year to her friend's daughter's wedding and feared she wouldn't be able to travel otherwise.
The gulls are noisy this morning hovering overhead, maybe they think my place is a snack bar with all the cats I feed. They're such big birds when they land on the lawn, but beautiful to look at too. I don't feed them as I wouldn't want them flying over the whirligig !
A couple of my usual big lamb chops from the freezer last night for today so I'll do new pots and brocolli with them, mint jelly will have to do until my mint grows. I think I've got a jam roly-poly in the freezer too for pud. I'll have had my share of suet puds this weekend after yesterdays steak and kidney pud----a bit skinny with the kidney though !
Must get myself dressed then I'll feel more organised.

Love the pics of the dogs, so beautiful and always makes me feel as though I want one having always had them throughout my life, but out of the question with 3 cats. I'll have to enjoy the pictures instead.
Thinking of our absent friends and hope they're alright. Bellasnanna is the one in Malta as someone mentioned, we're thinking about you x.

Good morning everyone from a sunny bright day on the Angus coast. The day is made brighter by the covering of snow!! I took the grey photo during a blizzard yesterday afternoon, and the other one just now. Can't quite believe that it's still lying!
It's ironic because my main task today is to make a list of all I have to do before a barbecue on Wednesday. There have been barbies in all sorts of weather over the years in the Smiddy garden, but this could be a first in snow in April! DD and her partner and their five teens are coming over for a deferred Easter egg hunt (requested by 15 yo who says she's still only 5 inside ?). I should imagine it will be the last egg hunt, and will be one to remember if these conditions prevail!
I have read only the first couple of posts so far as my body decided it wouldn't sleep until after 3am last night and then took its usual 7 hours, making for a very late start! Late for what, I'm not sure - my conscience I suppose.
Sorry you're missing your cycling today Mick. By the way, I have heard of it but never had it - what's lardy cake? I hate drizzle too Mattie, it's so depressing. At least snow is prettier. Will you miss having to play for services Ash? And there are a few more Philip anecdotes tucked away here, but those were the first to come to mind.
Marydoll thank you for popping in yesterday to say you were alright, but you're clearly not. Just take care of yourself ?. And that goes for all who are under the weather - I hope you all have a good day today. Enjoy what you do today everyone.
PS. The sun is shining on the hills just now and there is not a scrap of snow on them!! It's all in the Smiddy garden! ☀️???
