Good morning Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is sunny with a cloudless sky after quite a hard frost.
Congratulations to Glammagran on the new baby and to Amselerin on the new house. Very exciting for you both!
We started the job of clearing a rough area at the back of our garden yesterday, ready for a weed proof membrane and gravel. It will give a shady sitting area, an alternative to our sun baked patio. I have pulled something in my groin and had to give up and leave it to DH but today I will start the day with plenty of painkillers.
Once it is finished, I can dig a new flowerbed in front of it, ready for the seedlings in the greenhouse. They need moving out in time for the tomatoes.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning, Mick and everyone from yet another sunny day in Carlisle.
I have so many things to do it's difficult to know where to start. I keep putting off the really tedious ones like notifying various authorities of my change of address. My post code has only just gone on the Post Office data base. I'm finding that private concerns can find it but official ones and the banks can't, presumably because they haven't updated themselves. This means I have to phone and generally, hang on and on until you get to the top of the queue.
Yesterday I went into the city to spend some of what I'm calling my "Rishi" money, the money I didn't have to pay in stamp duty. I am needing furniture for upstairs where I only have a bed, having moved from a home where everything was fitted.
I also went to register with a new doctor and came away with a 3 page form to fill in and a request for 2 forms of identification. That's a new one, first time I've been asked for that.
So today I plan to crack those admin jobs and possibly get my new turves watered again. I bought some sacks of top soil to fill in the cracks appearing between them, it's so dry they are shrinking.
I hope your DH's appetite picks up, Harrigran, a little food will do him the world of good. How worrying for you .

It's a very cold but bright sunny start to the day and the forecast is for it to warm up as the day proceeds so should manage coffee in the garden later this morning. Couldn't do that yesterday as it was grey, chilly and breezy. The gardens are desperate for some rain, though, and I'm needing to water my pots. If only it would fall at night!

I haven't read through all the posts yet, but will come back and read them after my Pilates class.

We had a lovely day yesterday with my DB and nephew. It was sunny but with a very chilly wind. We still had a nice walk and leisurely lunch and the dogs got on well.

Nephew brought his drone and did a little video of the sea with a kite surfer flying up high and then back to our cottage to see us waving. So clever!

Today we start on the never ending second coat for the summerhouse. We are determined to get it done before we go back to Essex ??

Sar sorry you are worried about your DH’s results but as Urms reassures you , just treatment should do the trick. ?

Great that so many are finally having hair appointments. Mine is next week. ?

Good Morning/ Madainn Mhath from the Scottish Borders where it is a gorgeous day again but the renovations next door mean going outside into the garden isn't much fun.. There are 4 workers currently on the scaffolding. However I mustn't grumble. They are chipping away at the mortar to repoint and about to put up solar panels.
I am jealous actually.

I'll be brief as I have a blinding headache, it'll pass when the painkillers kick in. I slept okay, my neighbour was quiet so not sure why I've got it ?

Off to the village later since I didn't get the opportunity on Tuesday to spend my voucher that's "burning a hole". Delayed treat ?

Sainsbury's delivery later on and then the only plan is to water the garden and sit and read outside.

Mention of Arran reminds me of a holiday I had there in the 60s with a boyfriend (before DH). We rented a little cottage and had a wonderful time walking and cycling. Then ruined because on the way home on the train he dumped me! Said he couldn't see our relationship going anywhere (and I found out he was cheating!). I was well rid of him, though heartbroken at the time.

Will now go back and read the whole thread. Hope we all see the ? today.

We have a sunny one again, the gulls are enjoying it squawking around mid-air stretching their wings. I wonder where they all sleep ?

Amselerin I wonder if your move is near my neck of the woods by the shore ?. It's sounds so from your description. A busy little place when the weather's good and very convenient for everything too.

I must venture out to Asda today as stocks are going down a bit and I can't have that, then I must gradually get into the habit of going every couple of weeks to keep on top of supplies.

Harrigran I feel for your poor DH being unable to eat as when I was unwell at the beginning of last year I couldn't face anything and not being a drinker I measured a capful of black rum a touch of sugar and topped it with a drop of boiled water from the kettle. It was a tonic to the tum so will always have a small bottle for emergencies. Worked a treat.
It was left over from the C/cake I'd made.
We used to give our poorly men a Guinness as a nightcap on the ward. They smacked their lips at that Hope there's some improvement.

Love the names of those lambs Sheepandcattle. I wouldn't get anything done ! As a child we kept hens and acquired a duck which we called Desdemona. What a thrill it was going hunting up the garden and looking in the hedgerows to see where she'd laid her eggs. Never in the same place twice.
I wish it would rain through the night for you or you're going to end up with parched land the lower the grass gets.

I managed to put some stuff aside for the charity collection for tomorrow, in between shredding and I'll do more of both on my return from Asda. I've never worked so hard I knew something would shift me before long.

Some lovely cheery pics again, I really do like them as they add a bit more interest and an insight into everyone's lives.

Let's hope that all's quiet on the "Western Front" for Cherry , nothing worse than lack of sleep .

The garden could do with some rain , we have a rainwater tank set up by Son in Law and use it sparingly , but I use tap water on seedlings and in the wee greenhouse

Glammagran many congratulations, wonderful news on your bouncing baby grandson. I can't help feeling a little bit wistful, as DS and DDiL are still waiting, 4 days overdue now and no sign of any action yet. She saw the anaesthetist yesterday as if the baby doesn't come by 30th they will do a C section. Induction too risky after last time (G'netters may recall the crash team was called first to DGS and then some minutes later to DDiL for a massive haemorrhage. DS was badly shocked!)

Harri I do hope you find something to tempt DH, what a worry for you . Lovely to hear about and see the 'SN' lambs Sheep, you are an amazing woman! ?

Lovely photographs, toddlers in the playground, lambs being lambs and stunning views.
I watched Sewing Bee last night and thought of you all when I noticed lots of fabric with flamingos.
Warm wishes to Harrigran, GrannySomerset and all carers doing a grand job borne of love. Also to all with worries and health concerns and bad neighbours.
We are planning a Sunday trip to Leicester to see grandchildren and explore their new house, we’re very excited but also trepidatious, loo stops are my biggest worry, I suppose masks, hand washing and hand sanitizer is all we can do. Got to step back in to the world sooner or later, big breaths (yeth I have) and on we go.
The garden calls, the naughty frost of recent days took my baby nemesia which I had nurtured from seed. Luckily I hadn’t put out anything else. I’ll wait until May now.

Baubles your trip to the coast sounds lovely, Culzean Castle is our default NT place - love it, many memories. Is the castle in your photo Dunure Castle?
Harrigran I have that problem trying to build my DH up - he looks like someone just out of Belsen!! We have loads of complan, but he won't have it, he did have calogen? though. I try giving him fattening foods, but only succeed in fattening myself!!

Enjoy your trip out today Mick, and Grandmattie that is a big improvement already, isn't it. I (in the shape of Lovely Gardener ?) have just planted a flowering hydrangea against a bare wall. LG said it was slow growing but will be looking good in three or four years' time, so I hope I'm still around to see it! You can't be in a hurry with gardens.
Baubles it does take a while to remember all the moves in tai chi! It took me three years before I could remember the whole set - and I can still go wrong. There are going to be many interesting interpretations when we all get back together - as one lady said "I can remember the moves, it's just the order we do them in that's the problem!". It's a shame you decided not to carry on though. By the way, lovely photos of your day at the coast.
Aw dwm what wee cuties! Mine range from 28 down to 15 and the cute stage is long past!
Now look at the time and I haven't done anything yet! Not that there's anything much on. Perhaps if it stays sunny I might see if anyone wants to come up for a set of two of tai chi in the garden, who knows.

Morning all from a sunny but cold Ashford Kent. Up early (for me) as a parcel being delivered from Hotter shoes. Arrived at 10:15 -repacked by 10:25! I need extra wide fit so why do they not make the instep easier to get into. I have no doubt the width would be right and they were very stylish black flats but I couldn’t even get my foot into them GGGGRRR,!
At least the postie will pick up tomorrow so no special trip to town ( one bus an hour) or request to DH to take me to Canterbury to the ‘local’ branch.
Marydoll I remember a school trip in fourth or fifth year to Culzean. I took my DH to the nearby Electric Brae about 16 years ago, he was fascinated. He couldn’t work out what was happening so we spent 45 minutes going up and down. When my father first took me there I thought he was a magician .
Not much else happening, longing to get into the garden centre to replenish my pots. DH emptied loads of them last weekend and was warned that I would HAVE to buy lots to fill them. I have planted carrots, peas, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber and marigold all from seed so fingers crossed!
