Aw. Soop, why does someone else always beat me to what I think is a new idea?
Now I'm giving myself a headache, sewing up a jacket I knitted ages ago and put away in a drawer when I had trouble with my shoulder and hand. I'm useless at sewing so no matter how good the knitting is, the sewing up is a bit messy! Just got the front bands to put on and find some buttons. ht and it's bright and breezy, but cold.
I'm so pleased for your son (and you), muse. It must be a weight off your minds now that he has a choice of job - like the bus that never comes until two come along in tandem.
My DS1 sent me a photo of a cricket field in which he might be one of the little white dots. He says they have had the covers on and off several times! Glad my days as a cricket mum are long gone!

I think a sentence got deleted in the above post! Never mind. It probably wasn't important. blush

Hello Paxo, Billie, Fern and all my other kitchen friends. My mummy is busy with all this wedding-y stuff - I got in trouble this afternoon for investigating an interesting box of flowers ?. And I've got to go to the cattery on Wednesday - I'm sure I'll be able to charm everyone there!!

dragonfly46 Sat 22-May-21 17:55:33

That is so exciting soop to be seeing one of your sons soon - I know how much you miss them.

Look after yourself Yiayia I know all about joint pain!

NanaandGrampy Sat 22-May-21 17:59:44

Evening all,

Hope you're feeling a little better after your fall Soop .

Sorry I have been missing in action. We enjoyed a 4 day visit from the little boys and their parents. We went Wild in the Woods with young Cooper to celebrate his belated 7th birthday . The tent and such was a huge hit and he slept it in the house for the rest of his time here !! Our gluten free cupcake animals in lieu of a birthday cake were a huge success too.

I'll post a pic at the end of them . We were both exhausted and rejuvenated.

Must be a time for new cars, we picked up ours yesterday . Its a Citroen and passed inspection by our in house expert Jackson. As she is French she has been named Fifi La Fluff--- because why not lol !!

We have had horrible weather, I cant believe the heating is still on in mid May= hurry up summer.

Can anyone send us a little sunshine please ? :-)

brook2704 Sat 22-May-21 18:33:51

Awww such beautiful pictures N&G happy memories made and I hope he enjoyed his belated birthday celebrations
All this talk of new cars has got me thinking too .... I’ll maybe have a look
I’ve had a lovely day today, DD2 and the two DGC 6 and 7 have been at our house of the day... lots of fun and laughter but I’m looking forward to putting my feet up and having a rest now!

Jaxjacky Sat 22-May-21 18:54:47

Lovely, lovely pictures n&g high jinks! And a curry out out for Yia my favourite, enjoy your meal. I went to the allotment and planted into mud, at least they won’t dry out, squash, pumpkin and courgettes. Enjoying a glass of wine before our Chinese meal is delivered.
I’ve been wondering how the panache family are, thoughts are with them.
Enjoy your evening all x

Hellogirl1 Sat 22-May-21 20:04:12

Lovely photos N&G, I keep forgetting how Cooper and Jackson are growing up!

Doodle Sat 22-May-21 20:07:14

‘Evening All’.

I’m shattered! A wonderful full-on family day. ?❤️

We’ve even had sunshine hereabouts since noon. An unexpected treat.

Hope we all have a peaceful night ahead of us. x

We got back yesterday charley, the motorway was so wet it was like driving through a lake at times. The laundry is done, food shop completed, unpacked *stuff’ ’ is put away as I do every time I now wonder why it all went with us. Had a good break, enjoyed every minute, today I’ve been flatter than the average pancake. Just end of holiday blues I guess.

I’m delighted you like your replacement car soop. Those boys aren’t so little now n&g, I know you’ll have enjoyed every minute of their visit.

Good to hear the feline friends are eating well, we don’t feed our guard cat, simply keep a bowl,of fresh water outside for him or any other passing cats. The first thing I saw this morning was a very grumpy face glaring at our front door, on investigation it was obvious fresh water was required, it seems he doesn’t appreciate green water, can’t think why.

Bed time now. Goodnight everyone, sleep well.

Nannytopsy Sat 22-May-21 23:29:14

Congratulations to those of you who have had sunshine. We have had to put the heating on today too. DGC came for the day as M&D were working. We still need to divide and rule several times a day, so madam and I went to the park.
Sleep well everyone

Charleygirl5 Sun 23-May-21 14:12:08

More rain today but also more than our share of sunshine. Still my heating is on- unbelievable especially as June is around the corner.

My activity today will be putting out the bins later. I know how to live.

I am meeting 3 friends for coffee next week- it will make a change speaking to other people who will not be behind a till.
TOYA

Greetings from a soggy Kintyre.

We are enjoying a relaxing and cosy day in our home. I shall share a photo taken on the beach and last night's soothing sky with you after I've read through all your posts.

anno During a sewing class at the convent (yonks ago), my effort to insert a zip into a garment met with much derision. In fact, I almost believed that the nun's reaction meant that I had committed a mortal sin. wink

BladeAnnie, *Duncan would be welcome to stay with us, that is providing a certain lady cat approved. She had so many meals yesterday, we lost count of her comings and goings. We admit that we are two, big, soppy softies.

dragonfly At this time nest week, we shall have shared a lunch-time treat at our favourite local restaurant. grin

N&G All your photographs made me smile. I love those lads. What a wonderful way to celebrate Cooper's birthday. As for the cake...did you save some for us lot?

brook and Urmstongran and corner and Nannytopsy You all richly deserve a long feet-up session after your many activities.

Doodle I believe that you would indeed take good care of any visitors from the kitchen. It's just that some of us already know that venturing into the Argy has a tendency to besmirch reputations. shock blush

Charleyg Talking of excitement. There was a cartoon that made me chuckle...elderly wife turns to her elderly husband lying beside her in bed..." the sooner you go to sleep, the sooner it will be dustbin day". grin

soop Sun 23-May-21 15:13:02

The beach. The garden. The sky.

Yiayia4 Sun 23-May-21 16:08:50

Such beautiful pics Soop I do envy your views.
Rain here for a change! another day of resting I really need to be fit for next weekend! We enjoyed our curry last night so nice to sit in a restaurant again. It was very quiet I hope it improves it’s always good food and and nice staff they deserve to do well.
Pleased you had a good trip cornergran and hope you soon feel brighter. We are going to Devon and Cornwall next month in the wobble box hope we get some good weather!
Have a nice evening everyone.

brook2704 Sun 23-May-21 16:40:17

Such beautiful pictures soop thank you, your house looks really lovely
Surprisingly it’s been dry here all day so far, I’ve been pottering in the garden and carrying on with the weeding. I noticed something has been eating the fresh green leaves of the lupins, I couldn’t see any prints or tracks nearby but I think it might have been that rabbit I saw the other day - will see what it fancies next!
It’s my last night on my own tonight as DH returns home tomorrow after visiting his AC and DGC this weekend. So a quick and easy chicken salad to prepare for later and feet up in front of the telly!
Hoping everyone has a relaxing evening and take care all

muse Sun 23-May-21 16:45:31

More rain - lots of it - in Cornwall today. ? Sad for those on holiday, Hope it's better for you Yiayia4 next month.

Did a test drive in an automatic today and love the car. Picking it up in 7-10 days. I'll be driving both automatic and manual then. Fun? MrM has bought the manual home soop. That will keep him quiet tonight. He had his head under the bonnet looking for the dip stick. He's not a techie man and would prefer a car with no electronics or sensors at all. Oil check was via the infotainment screen! Not to worry. Techie woman and practical man make a good team.

Lovely pics N&G and soop

Hoping dear son will ring today to tell me all about his new job. Need to do catch up with darling daughter too.

Sun tomorrow please for us all. Jax and I have lots of gardening to do. Hope you got the car emptied Jax.

NanaandGrampy Sun 23-May-21 17:23:16

Evening all,

Looks like busy times here in the kitchen.

I didn't save you cake Soop I'm sad to say I think GF cake looks better than it tastes ;-) Young Cooper doesn't seem to mind - which is lucky as he has no choice. We did have a couple of smashing GF meals that my daughter cooked so it can be done ( just not by me ),

Ha - I know what you mean about car manuals Muse. Grampy has spent a lot of time out there pressing buttons and such because of course NOTHING is the same as the old car. Even the gear stick is on the wheel. I have driven an automatic for many years and love them.

Beautiful views Soop , if only the sun would come out long enough I'd be off to see the azalea's in bloom at the local NT property. ah well !

Happy evening all x

Doodle Sun 23-May-21 17:33:59

soop such lovely photos again. The beach looks lovely ?
We are going to the seaside Tuesday. Yippee. Can’t wait. I love the sea and we haven’t been for ages. Just for the day but I am so looking forward to it.
N&G those boys are a smashing pair. ? Hope the Q of the U is ok. She must be growing up fast too.
Hope all the kitcheners have had an enjoyable weekend. TOYA ?
P.S. ? Urms ?

soop Sun 23-May-21 17:50:42

Well now, you lovely lot, I've been trying on outfits and am somewhat dismayed that only a fraction fit me. I have chosen a handful of outfits that are flattering. From this selection, I shall decide what to wear when we have our lovely visitors next weekend. grin

The rain has cleared. The sky is clearing. The sea is slightly ruffled. All is well with the world.

Wishing every Granspal here in our kitchen a restful Sunday evening. All being well, we shall gather again tomorrow.

smile moon

Fennel Sun 23-May-21 18:16:19

soop - back to your bathroom fall - looking at the layout in your photo it seems it would be better to make your approach from the other side of the throne.
Funnily enough (not really) I also fell when approaching the toilet backwards at night about 2 weeks ago. I don't think I've mentioned it on here but I fell and fractured my left ankle in early March and am still a bit unsteady.so lost my balance going to pee and fell frontwards. Managed to support my weight and didn't bash my face.
Also missing offspring far away - oldest son in Thailand, younger in SW India who was supposed to be coming over to renew his visa next month but looks unlikely now.
Thank God for whats app and Teams. And daughters here who can organise meetings via them.

Urmstongran Sun 23-May-21 19:20:44

‘Evening All’.

Hi Doodle! ?

soop I love your beach, garden and sky photos. Beautiful. Love the colour you chose too for your front door.

My tum is full of roast pork dinner enjoyed, as is our usual Sunday arrangement, with my stepfather. He was driven home by Himself at 4pm whilst I sided the table and did the dishes (sadly our small space won’t accommodate a dishwasher). Then I chatted to some friends as I poured myself the last of the Chablis from the bottle ...
?

Hope we all get a peaceful night ahead. x

Urmstongran Sun 23-May-21 19:23:29

P.s. Strong winds have got up this last hour and it’s chucking it down with rain. Will it ever stop? I’ve had enough of it. 4 weeks away from the longest day of the year then the nights start drawing in .... this is bonkers weather.
