Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like a sunny start here in Brackley ,and know wind at the moment.
Yesterdays trip was OK ,apart from the rain shower when eating and drinking outside, but otherwise I did manage to get what I wanted.
Today, a local shop, then stay in with a coffee and biscuits later , also TV , normality as we knew seems to be slowly returning .
Take Care,
Mick

Haven't read posts yet but just popping in to say Good Morning. Bright and sunny in Cheshire today. Hope temp up a bit. Will read all your news later. I do read them but always seems a bit late to comment. Have seen that great hairstyle while scrolling Urmstongran

Good morning Mick and all his followers. There’s been lots of activity on here already - it’s taken me ages to read it all. I hope you are feeling better soon Marydoll .
Sunny in Suffolk and hopefully it will begin to warm up now.
DH was up early for a visit to the podiatrist when half a ton of gravel arrived. We were expecting to have to wait until next week. That’ll keep us busy then!
I hope everyone has a good day.

Nannagarra Wed 05-May-21 09:08:40

Hope all goes well with the physio Ladyleftfieldlover and that your arm soon heals sheepandcattle.
Sending a gentle stroke for Dexter.

brook2704 Wed 05-May-21 09:15:33

So sorry to hear your op has been delayed grandmajet no wonder you’re feeling upset by it all especially as you’d cancelled your holiday too. Hopefully the hospital won’t keep you waiting too long and it’ll be over and done with soon. Sending hugs
Hope marydoll and anyone else I’ve missed who’s feeling poorly today improves very soon - take care all

aggie Wed 05-May-21 09:15:52

Good Morning all, so sorry for all the poorly and disappointed people on here , I’m glad I missed the mess on the forum yesterday
Sun is shining but it’s too cold to sit out with my porridge like we did last year

Good morning from a cloudy and sunny east Midlands. Family tree stuff to do this morning and a walk this afternoon. Stay safe and take care.

B9exchange Wed 05-May-21 09:36:22

Lovely sunny day here, morning all, so lovely to see another update from sheep, I love your posts. Ash I am so pleased your trip went well, and you can shower in comfort!

So sorry to hear it didn’t go as planned for Dexter, hope you both start to feel better soon. Poor Grandmajet, I would have been in tears, never mind moaning, if I had psyched myself up for a major operation only to have it cancelled at the last minute.

Now I really need your help. All the reference to pink flamingos is new to me, please can someone explain to a bear of little brain what they mean? Unfortunately I tried googling it, and the urban dictionary came up with a description of an image that I now cannot unsee, I really do not advise you to go there!! shock

Anyone help me out?

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. Forecast showers later, but hope they hold off until I've got home from my hair appointment at lunchtime. I just can't wait for a good cut and restyle, and will try to persuade the stylist to put blonde highlights in this time instead of the caramel ones she did last time. Your hair looks lovely Urmston.

Yesterday was very showery, so never made it outside until late afternoon when the tree man came to look at the two trees I need cutting back. He gave me a good quote, and will be back on Friday to do the work.

I actually set to and cleaned my oven yesterday morning; it must be all of two years months since it was last done, but wasn't as bad as I feared. I had to remove the glass from the oven door and was so scared that I was going to drop and smash it! But all went well.

Hope people feeling poorly find that they perk up today and find a flamingo.

Goodness, ladyleftfieldlover, I want to go to your hospital! Last time I was in it was rice crispies and a bit of toast like cardboard!
Thanks for all your sympathy, I’ve put it out of my head now and will have a good day. Hoping for good weather for those with little ones to entertain! ?

If you search for grandMattie flamingo on this site and find the entry for 21 Feb 2021 you’ll find the origin of this idea.
We continue to use this in support of Iris and as a beacon of hope.

grandMattie Wed 05-May-21 10:17:59

B9, I’ve pm-ed you regarding flamingos.

Nannytopsy Wed 05-May-21 10:21:55

B9 the flamingoes started when GranMattie’s DGD Iris found a random flamingo in her Lego. They have become the symbols of hope, happiness and general good cheer on this thread. You will be surprised how often you see them!

Nannytopsy Wed 05-May-21 10:22:56

Good morning all from Sunny Lancashire sunshine

Dreadful weather here yesterday, but we decided to go ahead with our shopping trip as we have cabin fever! We got the necessities from the garden centre, popped into B&M which was very busy. I stocked up on hand and nail cream, shampoo and conditioner. Also spotted some pretty hair clasps, so treated myself to a couple. Will have to go back for a good look round, as I didn’t want to be in there with so many people.

I had a restless night, painful arm and leg, the excitement had evidently been too much for me. Today I shall sit in the sunshine and sew. I hope everyone has the best day possible today.

B9exchange Wed 05-May-21 10:44:47

Thank you for the explanation, that makes sense, hope Iris is okay now she is back home? Though I still can't get that other definition out of my head....!!. shock

muse Wed 05-May-21 10:48:22

Just done a quick skim through and Wow wee and another wow. Love the hair and colour Urmston. Fingers crossed??mine will be like that tomorrow.

Yes - hi to sheep. Missed you. Good bye to Bogdon and sorry his tender goodbye resulted in your bruised arm. This crazy weather is causing so many problems with farming/growing.

Grandmajet, Sorry about the operation cancellation. I do hope it goes well in 2 weeks.

Grandmabatty. Love the role play for the prospective head teachers. I never had anything like that when I applied for head posts. Closest I got was when doing my NPQH.

jax Same here with the 6 o'clock get ups. Only reason I crawl out of bed early now is when Mark (man mountain of a gardener) comes at 8:30. I hope you gave the company a stern talking to about the very unexpected early delivery.

Hope your dog eats his breakfast Ellianne. Sounds like he was such good buddies with his cat.

We got asked lots of questions about side effects Marydoll when we went for our 2nd one. It's good that they are collecting as much info as possible. Hope you feel better soon. My friend has her 2nd one tomorrow and I'm so worried about her. She ended up in hospital for 48 hours after the 1st one.

Purplepixie sounds like the family tree is growing.

Sunny Cornish morning. Very noisy hail storm last night. No car still but its 4 wheels will be on the ground today ?? Me things it's going to be a quiet day for me unless I get that call from my son .

Blossoming Wed 05-May-21 11:08:55

Lovely hair Urms. I’m hoping mine will look something similar when I finally get the 2ft of highlights that’s halfway down my back cut off grin.

Grandmajet so sorry to read your disappointing news, fingers crossed it will go ahead on the rescheduled date.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 05-May-21 11:10:48

Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate
Gagagran it might be sunny here but we've been having very chilly nights - I'm still using my winter duvet and electric blanket!!
You've reminded me Susan56 I have quite a few Welsh Male voice choir CDs which I love, mainly Morriston Orpheus Choir and a couple of Llandulas Male voice choir. Sadly we have a shortage of CD players, now (none in the car) so they don't get much play. {sad}
Urms your hair is fab, I agree leave it that colour

At the moment I have to admit to feeling a bit rough, think it's a common cold. Doing a test just now, not that it's conclusive.
Well, thanks to virginmedia switching off our internet for a good few minutes, I can give you the inconclusive results - I'm negative, take that whichever way you like!! The test is sooo uncomfortable!!
Hope you feel up to the next chapter of your Novella Marydoll we await with bated breathe!!
I'm really having a nothing day today apart from sticking the washing on!!
Hope all the doggies are recovering from their procedures ready for mischief
Sheep I don't know where you find the time to do any posting!! we appreciate it when you do, though.
I'm looking forward to seeing our missing pals when they feel up to posting.

Have the best day possible!

Mapleleaf Wed 05-May-21 11:20:04

Morning all,

It's a lovely bright morning today and I've managed to put some washing outside to dry. This hasn't been possible the last few days with all the heavy rain we've had. (They were supposed to be showers, but it was continuous for much of the last 2 days).

Your hair looks a lovely colour in its natural state, urms, and so thick and healthy looking. It's your choice of, course, but I think it's natural colour is a colour many would strive for.

Sorry to read of posters disappointments, and do hope the delays for treatment, etc, won't be too long.

Not sure what is on the agenda today, other than make a fruit tea brack - the fruit is soaking now.

Nice to see posters back who have been missing a while, and a warm welcome to all newbies.

Take care everyone.

Borrheid55 Wed 05-May-21 11:21:39

Morning all from a sunnyish cold Ashford Kent. Marydoll sorry you are under the weather after your vaccine. I had my second on Monday and no side effects at all. We tried to have DH get his second too ( he’s top of the list for surgery but must be three weeks after vaccine) but not possible. He’s waited 16mths for urgent gall bladder removal. I have my “ squash booby” test tomorrow at 08:40! DH will take me when he gets home from night shift. Not much else happening. Seeds aren’t growing cos it’s too cold. Squirrels have eaten my tomato and cucumber plants so will have to start again. On the plus side, I am feeding three hedgehogs every evening. It’s a delight to watch them.
Marydoll I’ve just read an Alex Gray book Before the Storm- two bodies found on the braes beside you! The local golf club is central to the plot too! Funny reading about my home town and very near neighbours!
Hope all that are unwell have a better day

Flo53 Wed 05-May-21 11:27:28

Good morning from NW Scotland, where we have sleety showers, but thank goodness the bitter north wind has dropped. Had a heavy hail shower around 5am, then the cuckoo started up. It must be a very confused bird! This has been a very long winter.

hollysteers Wed 05-May-21 11:33:49

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest Lancashire coast.
Rather late, but have pushed myself this morning to do some exercise, strangely the one long session endured has not changed my tummy one iota! ?Must get the Spanx out...
Chat with 88 year old brother in law in the south and now awaiting the prodigal son to help me sort out the dishwasher, this hand washing is a drag.
Driver pulled over by Police has several machetes in his car
‘What are those for?”
“I’m a juggler”
“Well show me”
Puts on a dazzling show.
Driver passing by does a double take
“I’m definitely giving up drinking, look at the test they’re giving now!”?
Thoughts to dragonfly, harrigran, Cherry, Marydoll and anyone with worries, back later to read through.
