Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey start , its been raining as well as well ehere in Brackley .
Yesterdays 2nd jab , aching left upper arm at moment , but I did get up there earlier than scheduled time walked straight in more or less , had the jab sat for 15 minutes after and left .
Being early came back into town centre and caught bus to Bicester for usual stint there .
Today , morning shop ,and I then have my blood test this afternoon ,and also fill in the remainder of the form the surgery provide, things like weight, and blood pressure reading having to calculate average for 14 readings over 7 days , i have the formula .
Go to surgery , come back and watch my cycle race on TV , which is also getting similar weather conditions to UK .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone! Well 'mid morning' it would seem from the wheen of contributions already here. I'm amazed we're back to Friday so quickly. The weeks seem to be just whizzing by. I'll need an injection of something extra for this social whirl that's about to erupt (in a cautious way, of course!) on Monday. Very Happy Birthday to MD ?. Hope we all have at least one little pocket of joy in our day.

Sorry my rain dance proved so effective everyone! I promise to try harder with my sun dance which is obviously not as effective! sunshinesunshine

Happy birthday Marydoll. ???. Enjoy your day.

I thought of you yesterday watching the Antiques Road Trip round Scotland. Someone sampled honeycomb gelato, but she could have had tablet gelato! It looked scrumptious.

So many with worries, look after yourselves and thank you to everyone who posts beautiful photos.

We now have the Imps brother with us today also, as he doesn’t feel well, very unusual for him, it’s going to be a long day...

Morning Mick and all from a cloudy S Welsh coast.
A very Happy Birthday Marydoll ??
Hope Susan's daughter is better soon.
Local butcher delivery this morning. Our son and partner coming for a take away this evening, their treat apparently, so no cooking tonight.
Have a good day and stay safe everyone.

Good morning everyone from a very grey and wet Northampton. Looks set in for the day. I planned to go out and remove the dandelions from the front grass yesterday, but the rain beat me to it. And of course the window cleaners arrived as well, but they carried on as normal despite the rain.

I managed to do most of the crochet edging on my top; just the sleeves to do now. Will try and put a photo on when it is finished. I am afraid I succumbed to temptation yesterday and ordered another pattern and more wool!

Not much planned for today, a bit of admin, and a tidy up is all that's needed.

Hope your DD is allowed home soon Scentia; I had the same problem with both pregnancies. With DD my blood count was so low I had to spend a day in hospital booked up to an iron infusion drip - a lovely day for me as I wasn't allowed off the bed; I spent it reading and had my meals brought to me. DH had to take a day off work to look after DS (aged 3).

Happy birthday ? Marydoll and also creative; hope you have a lovely day, and also any other GNetters whose special day it is.

Grandmabatty Fri 14-May-21 08:52:00

Good morning all from Polmont where it's dull and looks like rain. Marydoll a very happy birthday to you. I hope you have a lovely day. Happy birthday to Creativeness too.
Yesterday was a lazy day apart from some housework and I enjoyed doing nothing. Today I'll head back to the garden centre for bits and pieces. I could go to Aldi for food shopping too. We'll see. Whatever your day holds, I hope you have a good one.

BlueSapphire Fri 14-May-21 08:52:50

And I meant to add that DD (aged 38) has had the call for her first jab, and has booked her appointment. Two thirds of all adults done now, it's amazing

grandMattie Fri 14-May-21 08:53:05

Good to see you posting, sheep. Glad that the rain is feeding your herds. It must be a tremendous relief to you. I shall tell my Iris about her namesake’s bull calf. Good luck with calving. ❤️

Marydoll Fri 14-May-21 08:53:42

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.

Scentia, I hope your DD gets home today. I have a friend with that deficiency and once he gets his Vit B12 injection, he feels like a new man, his exhaustion just about disappears. Fingers crossed for her. The same goes for Susan's DD, I hope you get to the bottom of things. ?

Thank you all for your kind wishes. I'm quite emotional this morning. It is indeed a significant birthday, for two reasons: I am 66 today and therefore receive my state pension, allbeit 6 years late! (I hope, I haven't checked my bank account yet!)
Secondly, not intending to sound over dramatic, given all that has happened healthwise in the last two years and my prognosis, I never thought I would reach this birthday! I stayed up to after midnight, watching my addictive Chinese soaps, just to make sure I made it! wink

Also, I have insisted DH plays golf, as he will be a nicer person and I will be able to do whatever I like in his absence. The other reason is his golf partner is really low and I know it will do him good to get a break. The ebay queen, is a very demanding and highly strung wife! She has just phoned, asking me to wait in for her builder, while she goes shopping!!!!

DH has surpassed himself, giving me some lovely gifts, trying to compensate for such a rotten year. However, it was his card, which reduced me to tears, addressed to my My wife and best friend. He doesn't do sentiment, so that floored me! He is usually a grumpy old bu**er

A surprise, fabulous gift hamper of Italian foods was delivered on Wednesday, from DS2 and his fiancée from a well know Italian restaurant in Glasgow. They knew how much I was missing my beloved Rome. His fiancé is a keeper!! In the past he would never have thought of a gift like that. wink

So I have decided to take myself out for an hour, that's about all I will manage on my own. I'm dressed in my free dress from my Prestwick boutique, but couldn't quite find a matching piece of jewellery, ( an amethyst necklace) so I cobbled together something earlier! I haven't done that since I was working.
DH says I have an -ism, everything must match! ?

Tonight we are having takeaway with DD and SIL and playing Rome Monopoly. DH is making us all speak Italian, (we have a vocabulary sheet!) heaven knows how they will manage that after a few Morretis! ?

You are all welcome to the birthday breakfast, but it will only be Nosecco to drink. If can't have any Prosecco, neither will any of you lot!

I will come back and ready properly later. Enjoy your day one and all.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest Lancashire coast. Crumbs it’s a bit chilly here, no wonder people live abroad. I often think the reason our summer dress sense leaves something to be desired (particularly in the eyes of continentals) is that we hardly have time to get used to warm weather, Then we have to layer over our outfit with cardies etc.
Glad you are nearer being virus proof Mick, only the Indian variant to worry about now, there’s always somefink.
Off to the railway station ‘library’ to put some books in and try not to bring more home..,
Happy birthday marydoll and Creativeness and thoughts to all with worries.

hollysteers Fri 14-May-21 08:58:20

This popped up in my memories on face the book ?

Nannagarra Fri 14-May-21 08:59:56

Good morning from the Sefton coast - an umbrella and padded jacket day.
I have only skimmed the first few posts but have noticed it is Marydoll’s birthday. Many happy returns! ???
No doubt I’ll be back (I’m hearing Arnie) once I’ve read your news.
May a flamboyance of flamingos be with you.

B9exchange Fri 14-May-21 09:00:51

Morning all, not a nice day here in SW Herts, we were promised a dry day but something has gone wrong! Happy birthdays, Marydoll and Creative.
I do hope your DD is released soon, Scentia I sympathise with that cooped up feeling. Once she has her B12 and folate levels up she will feel so much better.
Good to have an update from Sheep, glad our little granddaughter's namesake, Olive has made such progress.

DH is excited at the delivery from the Wine Society, and also that according to the scales he has lost 4lb overnight.... Hmmm.

We will have our last Zoom meeting with the couple that have kept us virtual company for the past 14 months, next week we are going out to have a meal with them, my mouth is watering already.

Hoping for as pain free and worry free day as possible for those suffering, and plenty of random pink flamingos for everyone else!

Grandmadinosaur Fri 14-May-21 09:11:48

Good morning all. It’s a dull one here in East Yorkshire. It will be a food shop today , a trip into town looking for something to fit in the corner of my new bathroom. Maybe a nice basket that I can use as towel storage we will see and then I must catch up with my dear dad.
Wishing Marydoll a very Happy Birthday. Sounds like you have a lovely day in store. I love the Italian hamper what’s great idea. . I spotted in it some of my favourite Baci chocolates ?. Enjoy! Talking of checking bank accounts I’ve checked mine this morning and my little private pension is in. Usually in on 15 th but paid earlier when it falls on a weekend.
Wishing everyone a good day come what may.

Alygran Fri 14-May-21 09:12:02

Happy birthday creativeness ??

Stilllearning Fri 14-May-21 09:13:05

Morning from cloudy/sunny S Lanarkshire.
I’ll read later but am looking forward to a nice lunch with eldest DD and eldest DGD who has finished her exams and has the day off from school.
We’re meeting at farm cafe in the Clyde Valley which now has a large covered area outside so fingers crossed for continued sunshine. It feels like such a step forward.

Wishing a good day to everyone ??

Mapleleaf Fri 14-May-21 09:16:16

Good morning,

It's rather chilly and grey today in South Yorkshire, but dry for the time being.

Happy birthday Marydoll - it sounds as if you are having a lovely day so far. ????

Happy birthday to you too, creativeness and welcome to the GM thread. ???

Hope everyone has as good a Friday as possible.

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 14-May-21 09:18:43

Good morning everyone,
Dry here currently in this part of the Scottish Borders. Two loads of washing done, half way through bread making. Desert Island Discs on. Going to catch up on emails. Watched a great documentary on bbc iplayer. 1974 programme written and presented by John Betjeman about Norfolk churches. Then the recent Frank Gardner documentary. Both inspiring in different ways. Have a good day.x
