P.s. one of my friends out here called strappy evening shoes ‘Door2Bar’. When she said it I thought it was the name of a designer shoe as that’s how it sounded! She had to explain to me (yes I’m a bit dim) that she meant door-to-bar as in, shoes that are best worn without having to walk far in them!

A very lazy day after Friday’s washing marathon, GG’s Saturday/Sunday am and the pulled pork for 10 yesterday that went well. The weather is dull and chilly, not summer. I’m a tad envious of Urms, I doubt if Weston super Mare in a couple of weeks will require silver sandals, I’m thinking fleece and socks!

Jaxjacky my dear friend made four different fish courses, nibbles beforehand and a birthday cake, needless to say I have eaten very little today!

So much for not doing a lot, I have cleared out and sorted my airing cupboard and what the C and GC call the Narnia wardrobe in the GC’s bedroom here.

We’re a day or so behind everyone else as we’ve just finished watching the first episode of Vigil on catch up - I really liked it and am looking forward to episode 2 later.
Your evening sounds really lovely urms - hope you both enjoy it. Most of my shoes these days are flat but I do enjoy dressing up in heels for a night out as long as I’ve got someone to hang onto on the way home!

Dashing in before I fall asleep after a day looking after my toddler granddaughter. Early start and non stop vigilance. Exhausted. She did have a nap (and so did I). Tea was something from the freezer with loads of vegetables. Several cups of Earl Grey and digestives consumed too. Comfort food for me.

Poor Rosie is still feeling sorry for herself after pulling her dew claw on Friday morning (early!) and waking the neighbours with the GSOD- “greyhound scream of death”. Those who have heard a dog scream in pain for several minutes will know it is spine chilling. I think I might check with the vet again tomorrow and see whether it should be removed as I am worried it might catch again. She was in a lot of pain. (My nerves were in shreds too)
She has had a day in kennels as I was in Birmingham for my (only) granddaughters 7 th birthday yesterday. There 15 of us and it was lovely to be at a proper (extended) family gathering again. The sort of thing we used to take for granted but have missed!
I hope those who have been poorly are recovering and wish those still in pain, like Soop some speedy relief

I forgot to say, D and SIL brought me a nostalgic Selkirk Bannock back with them from Scotland plus a book illustrating a song many of you will know (“Scottish Mothers” in particular). Good thing the other granny (SIL’s mother) wasn’t there ??

I’ll leave some “banny “ on the side- but I’m afraid I have started it!

Poor Rosie- I am so sorry to hear she is still in pain as well as feeling sorry for herself. I do hope she has been well cared for and has only really had to make an effort to go outside to do her "business". Is she receiving sufficient cuddles? I do worry about her.

I haven't been watching Vigil tonight.There's greater drama at the US open where Murray is playing Tsitsipas and doing very well so far. I'm watching it on Prime. Wish it was available on free-to-air TV. The way the match is going, I might have to go to bed before it's over. I must catch up on Vigil tomorrow if I don't have anything more important to do.

Kitcheners, I'm going to need everyone to cross their fingers for me. Recent mammogram highlighted some inconsistencies* their words, so I have to go to the breast clinic in Edinburgh tomorrow for more tests. I'm hoping it's nothing serious but who knows?
