Apparently GM is being held in solitary confinement, abused by guards daily and fed rotten food. There is a picture of her looking pitiful and bruised. Does anyone think this a true reflection of her situation bearing in mind that America is the land of litigation? Surely her legal team would be raising merry hell on her behalf. I just don’t think that she could be treated that way for the length of time she has been imprisoned without questions being asked. Is it a ploy for sympathy to be given to her? What do you all think?

Epstein was under "constant surveillance" so how did he manage to commit suicide? If you believe he did!

I am curious and in no way mitigating what Epstein did but where the the abused parents when they were being flown out of the country? It appears from what I have read they never questioned where their children were disappearing to?

I don’t think that your assertion has been established. They may well have reported their missing school children to the police, but it is known and well established that Epstein used bribery and intimidation towards the police.

Nan0 Tue 16-Nov-21 10:54:20

Epstein was murdered..

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Nov-21 11:12:48

Maxwell is charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy and perjury. presumably some of this established at the time of Epstein’s first trial, where he got away with a plea deal and only pleaded guilty to trafficking two 14 year olds, even though the police at the time had at least 36 girls as witnesses.

Calistemon Tue 16-Nov-21 11:33:12

Epstein’s intimidation factor was very strong.

There are still very many powerful, wealthy people out there who will never be brought to court, either charged with offences or as witnesses and I don't blame these girls for keeping quiet.
Those who have come forward are very brave.

Epstein was murdered..

We do not know that.
However, if there should be a whisper of truth in that, it would prove my point about wealthy, powerful people and their far-reaching influence.

Any country that still has the death penalty- we’re talking about you USA - can’t have a decent justice system. In fact aren’t they the only Western nation that still executes people?

They are the only Western country which murders its own citizens. The death penalty is state sanctioned murder, does not act as a deterrent, and reading recent reports, they can't even do it properly with prisoners taking 45 minutes to die in some cases. I am not an apologist for criminals before anyone jumps on me, but can we please remember that GM is a remanded prisoner, not convicted.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Nov-21 11:45:58

I doubt very much that the full disclosure of what was/is going on will ever take place.

There are too many people with power and wealth to ensure this doesn’t happen.

Design100 Tue 16-Nov-21 11:50:54

Completely agree she’s assisted a known convicted child abuser [ some as young as 12]. She should get what’s coming to her !

Calistemon Tue 16-Nov-21 11:51:30

I agree, Whitewave

Which is exactly why Maxwells life expectancy is not good, there are probably many who do not want this trial to go ahead

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Nov-21 11:57:43

To lose one is careless to lose 2 means questions must be asked, and someone will pay . The fallguys will almost certainly be the prison officers. They must be terrified.

nanna8 Tue 16-Nov-21 12:04:03

I agree with Katie. Reminds me of Princess Di, too. There are powerful people who will be threatened by her. The British RF for one.

Yammy Tue 16-Nov-21 12:10:37

Innocent until proved guilty should but doesn't apply in all countries.
As she is a risk to herself or might flee if given bail I think she should be in prison but treated the same as anyone else with the same charges against them.

I agree, but I don't think I am the only one who is looking forward to the disclosures in this trial, I hope there are a few people having a very uncomfortable time as GM's appearance in the dock gets closer.

I'll repeat it:

Seen on Twitter:
Ghislaine's close friend, Georgie Greig, is editor of the Daily Mail

Other news media may report it but someone has to be the source.

Close friend? Well that has it's advantages if one is a high profile fixer to the jet-set. She's just a Daddy's girl.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 16-Nov-21 12:50:06

Yes looking at the DM you would think this was a red carpet event rather than a tacky trial about sexual perversion.

Zoejory Tue 16-Nov-21 12:52:21

There clearly was a lot of rich and famous knocking about in these circles.

What will happen if Ghislaine releases a few names of famous wealthy people who engaged in goodness knows what.

Candelle Tue 16-Nov-21 13:02:30

GM is on remand: many (but not all, thank goodness) posters seem to have judged and take delight in her situation.

I have no idea, not hearing any evidence yet, if she is guilty or not.

Whenever there is someone with wealth brought to trial, there seems to be an undercurrent seam of satisfaction in their situation, i.e. the fall from great heights of comfort etc.

I believe it does us all a disservice.

grandtanteJE65 Tue 16-Nov-21 13:07:18

What do you expect of a nation that still has capital punishment? Obviously, they are barely civilised!

I know nothing of this particular case, but I have known for years that conditions in American conditions can be appalling.

Convicts in the U.S. are denied the right to vote, so they have no hope of changing anything, and quite honestly the rest of the world doesn't seem to care.

Her brother was on TV recently protesting about the conditions in which she is being kept. It doesn’t seem right that she should be treated that way pre trial but then prisons aren’t very nice places and they wouldn’t grant bail. I don’t think she helped her case by hiding out in a remote area prior to her discovery and subsequent arrest.

That's the brother who denied knowing anything about the father stealing the pensions and more from mirror group? Or was it the brother who skipped country to avoid parliamentary scrutiny about where that money ended up? They're rotten to the core the lot of them. She deserves everything she's getting dumped on her, vile piece of work. As for her appearance? Ever heard of Photoshop? And the eyebrows ?.....discuss!

Really! Don't be so hysterical, RF are a bunch of self absorbed relics who don't dirty their hands with the Hoi poloi. You've been reading too much conspiracy theories weekly!!!

Candelle Tue 16-Nov-21 13:13:59

I also muse (no evidence) if Virginia Giuffre, the women who is chasing Prince Andrew, is the person who did the procuring, as she was a girl, not too far in age from those who were abused and best placed to bribe girls into her web.....

I know I am changing tack but the fact that Prince Andrew (allegedly) slept with Virginia Guiffre was not a crime: she was above the age of sexual consent. I have no idea why she is suing him: I am sure that someone will tell me.

Whilst here, I also believe (but obviously have no evidence) that Jeffrey Epstein did not take his own life.

The plot thickens...

Gabrielle56 Tue 16-Nov-21 13:16:07

I suspect that if she knew anything about anyone relevant she'd have sung like a Canary to avoid being banged up in the first place! She's there because she's no leg to stand on! Do you not think they've tried absolutely everything to get her 'get out of gaol card free' issued?!

Gabrielle56 Tue 16-Nov-21 13:17:35

Who cares? He's gone! Good riddance to revolting rubbish! Just carve up his estate between established victims and charities
