anyone tried the new online Wordle word game?

Yes - got it in 4! but wasn't expecting American spelling...

Got it ! Thank you Lemsip for the recommendation.

I have just tried another link and got a different word plus the chance to try again.
It could become addictive!

lemsip

done in 3.

no spoilers or clues please, why spoil it for others?

If you see SPOILER ALERT another time - stop reading.
(It’s not as if I gave you the answer, but how else to comment on an irritation?)

Don't forget - Wordle is American and so has US spellings!

?Addictive!

I already play six- letter word game with my sister (via FB Messenger), which only allows for the right letters in the right places, but it’s enjoyable and also gives us a peg on which to hang our many ongoing discussions.

Yes! Brilliant! Challenging!

I do it every day - sort-of HAVE to now! But this morning I was a bit surprised that, from a .co.uk website, the spelling of the word was American. I'm not the only one a bit miffed either - there was a lot of mild grumbling about it on Twitter.

Calistemon

The yellow ones are in the word and are in the right place.

As I couldn't find instructions at first, so thought I must be unbelievably thick was confused at first
? (and it was nearly midnight)

Ignore me - apparently the green ones are in the right place and the yellow ones are in the word but in the wrong place according to Wales Online ?

I was just going to say 'Ignore Calistemon'.

Took me 5 because of the American spelling

Did it in 6 but did not expect American English!!

I didn't get the word today because it's an American spelling I would never use ?

I got it in 4 today, but was it my poor grip on spelling, or does it use USA English, rather than UK English spellings?

I am now utterly bemused: have just done today's word - I won't say which, don't want to spoil it for others - but “American spelling”? The word I got is the same spelling on both sides of the Atlantic. Do we not all get the same word?

Only one word a day?! Oh, no, I could do this all day long . Back to Classic Words…..

I've just downloaded the WRDL app on my phone - you can play more than once - its very addictive

Yes. It's fun. There are already several rip-offs, too.

Love this game! Yes, there is an element of luck involved as success is determined by the random word you select first, but deductive work takes over and I’m relieved it’s restricted to one a day!

Yes, good fun. I’ve got them all so far.

Took me 4 but word was USA spelling and I’m in UK!

Took 4 goes. The only problem is that the word was US spelling!

Hi. Really not sure what I’m supposed to be doing here. Can anyone help. Please

Tried it earlier for the first time after reading the Guardian. Made it in four. can anybody tell me what happens if you don't guess it? Does the answer come up somewhere or are you left wondering?

So everyone has the same word world over with an American spelling..
