Good morning from Bristol.
I had a quiet day yesterday, it was pouring and I just went into town for some fabric. I did the usual laundry.
My upstairs neighbour is going off with her family to a very posh house party and wanted to borrow one of my shawls. I fished out my 25 or so and she chose a lovely Ikat-type rainbow silk one.
Today, I have three cakes to make for her and a “Roscon de los Reyes” for my Spanish class tomorrow. Shall be busy. May/not go to DD’s for dinner as it is Thursday.

Good morning, rain woke me in the night and there is a lot more rain due from lunchtime for two days.

I made granola yesterday, very satisfying to do and lovely to eat. I am making a determined effort to use up my wholefood stores

Fridge clearing and cleaning today, new year and new start, beginning with the organic box delivery tomorrow, veg and fruit. Also some online ordering of bag-making supplies, I am determined not to go down the over-purchasing route and will get only what I want, which also means postage costs but so be it.

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire.
I have the notes to type up from last night’s WI committee. Then I’ll draft an email to the members about this month’s meeting.
Although it isn’t quite 12th night, I think I’ll strip the tree today of all its decorations. It is starting to look rather forlorn. I’ve also got a stack of ironing to do.
Otherwise, we have no plans today.

I imagine the residents are very glad you've moved into the block, grandMattie, with your generous nature and baking skills!

Yesterday, we watched a fallen tree being chopped up, shredded and removed from the park opposite us. About five years ago, I contacted the Council to report the ivy threatening to overwhelm it but was told it had been inspected and deemed healthy! Inevitably, the poor specimen succumbed to the high winds at the weekend.

I expect we shall have to do a Lidl shop today as the fridge is rather empty except for a five litre wine box brought from France! Like for you, Ladyleftfieldlover, the ironing awaits…!

Thinking of those with problems of any kind and hope longer days bring a lifting of worries. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from another rainy day in Cornwall. Ended up with both my youngest grandchildren yesterday. The six-year-old lad went home with my dad's steam engine made completely from scrap wood though it doesn't look it; he was delighted. His sister dug out my basket of paint sample tubs and had free range to choose my doll's house décor and she made a lovely job of it.

Today I'll go to the library where they hold craft sessions and discuss what origami they would like me to demonstrate. Not that I'm an expert!

Dreamt I was in Edinburgh in a town house decorated in blue, eating lovely food with lots of chatting people. 😄

Good morning from Malta where it is another bright start to the day and a high of 20°C expected. The weather forecast for next week looks as though we will finally be getting some much needed rain.

Productive morning sorting and reducing paper yesterday. The deal is I sort and Mr C shreds while also working on a jigsaw. So far he’s not lost any pieces.

Wandered into town later, the deluge having lightened to showers. Very pleased with a sale bargain and it was good to be out.

Our friend has been diagnosed with pneumonia, he’s very poorly indeed and unaware of his surroundings. Because of ward virus challenges no visiting is allowed. I feel so sad for his wife who is recovering from cancer surgery and should get biopsy results tomorrow.

Not certain about today. Mr C would like to go further afield, I’m not so sure, see how the day develops

With thoughts of everyone struggling with life’s challenges, hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Good morning from N Bucks.
It was such a lovely morning yesterday -a joy to see the sun - until it started to rain again!
No idea about today as yet, but hope flooding further north does not affect trains to London as I am going to “The Motive and the Cue” with Mark Gatiss and Johnny Flynn as Gielgud and Burton in a famous 1964 production of Hamlet. It sold out very quickly at the National but I managed to grab tickets when it transferred to the Noel Coward before Christmas. I am taking DH’s 2 sisters and we are meeting for lunch first. Fingers crossed.

Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s another grey day in my part of South Lanarkshire.

My appointment yesterday was going well until the radiographer asked me if I’d taken any medication. When she heard that I’d had my calcium tablet she explained that she couldn’t proceed as it would potentially skew the results. So annoying, apparently I should have received a letter confirming the appointment with instructions on what not to do. Needless to say it didn’t arrive, however she arranged another appointment in three weeks time.

No plans today other than to prepare a couple of meals for today and tomorrow. May do Bombay Chicken to take to DS’s house tomorrow, I’m a great fan of one pot meals.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. I have no idea what the weather is like, it’s still dark.
I’m up very early as being upright is better for my cough. I stayed up quite late watching the final episode of Mr Bates v the Post Office on ITVX. I may need an afternoon nap!
Off to meet a friend for coffee, do some food shopping and collect a shampoo product the dermatologist has prescribed.
Then there is the ironing and the admin I keep putting off…

Roses and Lilac made me laugh out loud yesterday (at least one of you manages to make me do so daily😂) with her description of her husband deciding what he wasn’t going to eat in future! Mr PG proclaimed loudly 3 years ago that he was going to eat only vegetarian/vegan…this from a man who only likes peas 🫛 and sweetcorn! Dear Reader, it lasted three months 😉

That Roscon de los Reyes sounds lishus 😋 grandMattie and reminds me I’m missing mi Casa….

I knew my mouth was a bit of a mess. They havent felt right for a couple of months.
I had a bug, months ago, which has wreaked havoc on my teeth.

With the river levels so high I'm relieved I have no travel plans, many roads closed and areas cut off. It must be devastating for those whose homes and business's are once again affected, my heart goes out to them all.

Good morning all and it’s dark here in Essex.

Yesterday I met my friend for coffee and then Dh joined us before our appointment with the bank. I then went into Specsavers as my vision is iffy after being diagnosed with glaucoma 3 months ago. Since having the drops each night , it seems to have worsened. Eye test on Friday.
Also need the dentist. Phobic to a great extent! 😫.

Today I have bowls club and then plan another ‘clear out’ in the kitchen, cupboards and drawers ! Freezer was defrosted yesterday, so I’m doing quite well. A job a day seems to be working. 👍.

Good morning from a dry Essex coast but I believe rain is due in copious amounts later.
Today is my youngest DGD's 6th birthday. I'm going tomorrow to spend the weekend with them and on Saturday we are going to see Mathilda in London. I haven't seen them for a couple of months so I'm really looking forward to going.
Today DH and I are going food shopping and have a few errands to run.

Good morning from a dark but dry for now Colchester.
A similar day to yesterday weatherwise, dry and sunny morning, rainy afternoon. A few degrees colder though at around 8.
Thursday is housework day. I need to persuade DH that the Christmas tree should come down as it's the last decoration standing. The boxes can then be moved from the spare room to the garage. We vowed not to put anything in the loft when we moved to Colchester over 20 years ago as going up and down was such a faff.

A very dark morning, currently not raining but I'm sure that will be remedied before the day is out. I am in the office again and traffic was very light driving in, the joy of starting early means I finish early. Traffic around Oxford is usually heavy, let alone with almost every main route into the city blocked with extensive road works.
I slept badly last night, I'm worried about a close family member, but little I can actually do to help resolve the issue.
Hoping for sunshine for you all on this dark January day.

Yesterday a dropped off charity shop stuff and popped into Lidl for a few bits. Every road had floods or running water, the lanes had water cascading through the hedges from the fields, a very strange thing to see. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve known there roads all my life!
Apparently it should be a drier morning today but more rain later, so will do an early dog walk.
I’ve started my online colour pencil drawing course, so much to learn as it’s not something I’ve done before, it should be good!

Good morning from a dry looking Suffolk. I’m off to my stretch class in about an hour so I’m hoping the weather stays as it is presently.

Yesterday at my Teams meeting,someone living in Essex said she had a double rainbow overhead! Our thoughts turned to those on other parts of the country suffering from floods( this conversation took place in a break in the meeting I hasten to add!).

My job for the day,apart from a trip into our local town to send a parcel,is to clear the spare bed in the smallest bedroom. I cleared it before Christmas when it was needed for DGD4 but it is now as cluttered as it was before. How did that happen,I ask myself?

Good morning. The sky is very pretty here, pale blue and several shades of pale pink.
We have smallest Grandson in coming just before lunchtime whilst his brother has an appointment at Addenbrooks to discuss if he needs a BAHA hearing aid. He is in able to
wear in or behind the ear. A big decision which is is fully involved in .
Hoping the weather stays dry so we can get out with little one.

Today is the third day I will have to myself. I will continue to potter around and do some tidying up.
I did several loads of towels and had the dryer going all day too while I watched Fool me once on Netflix.
Today I will do the rest of the laundry and hopefully get it ironed efore dinner tonight.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a still dark Carlisle where it appears to be damp.
No promised sun appeared yesterday and it was raining soon after lunch. It's looking cloudy at the moment and I have to go out shortly for a GP appointment, I've been moved on by the nurse practitioner, a competent woman, for a second opinion. It will all drag on for months I suspect, what a state our NHS is in!
Some necessary retail therapy will be due after that (I do remember that I have resolved to have a no-spend January but I have established a need!)
More fridge and freezer sorting out by some of you...my conscience pricketh.....It could happen here just possibly not today.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I think we are promised a dry day today. I shall be glad to see the back of all the rain. So will the farmers. GS and I went out to lunch at a pub in our valley yesterday and the huge field next to one of the windows was completely flooded. I had a lovely couple of days with my teenager - I was quite sad when he went home, but I’ll take what I can get😊. He’s a busy boy these days. Today I will go for a walk in one of our parks which will be safer than the paths in the woods at present, and call in a small hardware shop to get a new rubber foot for my walking stick. Then I’ll go and have lunch with DD.
