I remember the very first picture of her in a fairly see through dress !

Oh BlueBelle. You don't honestly think that Diana deliberately wore a "see through dress" do you? She was just 19 and actually was dressed rather dowdily (or at least conservatively) for a girl of that age, at that time. Nobody realised that a portion of the dress would appear to be see through, not least of all Diana, until the photo was developed. The sun was behind her and shone through the bottom half of the fabric of a perfectly ordinary summer dress. It only showed the lower half of her legs in any event. She'd just left work as a nanny to 2 little boys when that photo was snapped by a chance member of the press. It wasn't staged at all. Do you honestly think she'd go to work in a see through dress?

I've read that she carefully staged "impromptu" photos, so they would have the most impact.

Particularly in light of the fact that I read it in Morton's (?) book, which he wrote with her blessing.

It isn’t talking ill of her, she like everyone was a mix of good and not good.

These days photographs can be digitally altered to the requirements of, say, the tabloid rags. The saying "the camera never lies" is an absolute laugh!

RosiesMaw is being sympathetic to Camilla, not knocking her and I agree that if she does have a make up girl/ lady she could do a much better job in the future.Maybe she does her own make up and didn’t do a great job of it? She does look as if she’s used maybe too much fake tan.The hair, well, impossible to get that right on a windy day, a hat would have helped.
We don’t really know how she feels about this pic being splashed on a newspaper, so just guesswork.
I don’t get all this sisterhood thing, is there a brotherhood?

I think bro's stick together if necessary. But men tend not to focus on the way other men look.

I think the 'sisterhood' has evolved because men can be very critical of women's bodies. So it's sort of depressing when women join in.

Do bro’s stick together tho? I have no idea, but have always found on the subject of womens bodies that men are the least critical, and the same for dress sense.It’s always women who are more critical/discerning on this subject and have more interest in it.

Andrew Parker Bowles was a serial womaniser, and made Camilla deeply unhappy, so I doubt very much that his life was ruined or that he was as particularly upset when she left him. Put out maybe, pride a bit bruised perhaps, but nothing more. They apparently parted on very amicable terms. Diana also was no saint, the caption sly Di had quite a ring.of truth! Destroying three marriages was not a good look!!

I think tartan looks wonderful on men and women in the right context.. I went to a wedding in Edinburgh where the men all wore their specific tartans it was spectacular with the pipes as well

Did all the women at the wedding wear tartan too? I love men in kilts but I don't see a need for royal women to dress in tartan suits because they are in Scotland. Camilla wore a lovely non tartan outfit at Braemar and Charles wore his kilt.

Actually - you are right! Men do go for the 'visuals' but they are not generally critiquing what we wear or our hair and make-up. In fact, I'm not even sure they notice particularly what we are wearing - but they are aware of a pretty face and or curvy body.

I guess I'm thinking more of those men who are very critical of women in positions of power, or who have an opinion, both of which seem to threaten their sense of supremacy / superiority.

Maybe it's in our nature to critique other women's appearances, part of our make-up?

And Camilla’s chikdren? Just because her husband was an alleged serial adulterous man, that makes it OK for his wife to carry on a long standing affair with someone else’s husband?

A very public affair which both sets of children would have been very aware of?

Diana should never ever have been selected to marry Charles. She was already emotionally unstable due to her own parents marriage breakdown and just wasn’t at all suitable.

What else did she have??

She clearly loved her children and had an extremely unhappy marriage.

Charles and Diana are prime examples of why Royals should marry for love and not for “breeding”.

Maybe they should have learnt by now!

I would have had affairs too if I realised that my husband was in love with someone else and I'd been used for breeding.

I don't know them obviously and no one knows the truth apart from those involved, although many think they do. I can't take to Camilla or Charles. I'm sure they wouldn't lose any sleep over that! Just my opinion.

Diana couldn’t have been hurt if Charles did have an affair , this sainthood would never have inflicted pain on other women surely?
