Hansel and Gretel - I always loved the adventure of finding the house in the wood made of sweets. I looked but I never found one myself!

My favourite fairy tale is Cinderella, because as as child I had a Ladybird book of the story with beautiful illustrations- including one with a blue satin dress which I adored!

The Princess and the Pea...I always fancied a huge comfy bed!

Flowerpot123 Tue 01-Oct-19 14:17:53

Hansel and Gretel because I liked the idea of a house of sweets.

nicolajones63 Tue 01-Oct-19 14:20:09

Goldilocks and the three bears because i always remember my nanny reading it to me

Kim8 Tue 01-Oct-19 14:28:37

It was Cinderella for me,though I remember in the book I had,she went to the ball 3 times in 3 different dresses? Or maybe I am imagining it,after all it was a long time ago ??

The three billy goats gruff. Loved my dad doing all the voices and loved it even more as a parent watching my children enthralled, 'mock' scared and captivated by the story as we read it to them. It was also good fun doing the voices especially doing the deep gravelly voice which the boys loved. Now look forward to hearing them read it to the next generation

Cinderella, magic and a handsome prince - what is there not to love!

Red Riding Hood because she was brave

fredapet Tue 01-Oct-19 15:07:37

Sleeping Beauty I always hoped my prince would come

bookmark58 Tue 01-Oct-19 15:09:27

Sleeping beauty. I was such a hopeless romantic.

ngc4725 Tue 01-Oct-19 15:11:59

For me it has to be Aladdin it was and still is my favourite. It held a fascination for me of distant exotic lands, magical thrills and mysterious happenings around what is essentially a love story. A great piece of literature that grasped the attention of a young reader, and still does for that matter! Its still lovely to lose yourself in a fanciful tale with a clear underlying moral.

deltaroger Tue 01-Oct-19 15:14:08

i loved to be read Puss in Boots ,the illustrations were lovely and the story was very absorbing

midi1975 Tue 01-Oct-19 15:18:32

I was taken to see the fillm of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves . I was only very young but I was awe inspired. I thought Snow White was beautiful. I still can't hear the dwarves song 'Hey ho, Hey Ho it's off to work we go..' wihout becoming nostalgic. I still have my 1950's copy of the story. My absolute favourite.

rowanflower0 Tue 01-Oct-19 15:32:26

My favorite was the three billy goats gruff, with my father doing all the characters in different voices.

harmony81 Tue 01-Oct-19 16:13:21

Cinderella as it was so beautiful and magical.

gerryfiltness Tue 01-Oct-19 16:18:04

Snow White & the Seven dwarfs because it was the first film I went to see.

lynne2496 Tue 01-Oct-19 16:18:55

Hansel and Gretel because my parents couldn't afford to buy us sweets when we were young. The idea that 2 children could eat a full house was a dream come true

Dee78 Tue 01-Oct-19 16:19:37

My favourite was Dumbo as it was so magical that he could fly I thought if elephants could fly then I could but soon had lots of bruises from trying but still enjoy watching.

Mrsbeekeep Tue 01-Oct-19 16:20:45

Heidi, I loved her simple life, rosy cheeks and even her ‘gruff’ grandfather, he obviously loved her.

Kaggi60 Tue 01-Oct-19 16:21:47

Little Red Riding Hood and the story book was worn out reading to the children but it was used a lot.

wonderwoman19780 Tue 01-Oct-19 16:54:30

The Elves and the Shoemaker. I loved all the pictures of the interesting shoes the elves made.

Millieangel Tue 01-Oct-19 17:14:52

Cinderella definitely. Who doesn't want to meet their Prince Charming?
