4th Covid Vaccine Refusal?

Is there anyone who has refused to have the 4th Covid Vaccine? I am due to have mine soon, but so undecided this time. I always get swollen lymph nodes near my collar bone.

Cava Thu 05-Jan-23 12:33:31

I suffered a mild stroke three days after having the second vaccine. I have had no more vaccines and not had Covid or flu, although I have suffered from the after affects from the stroke and feel lucky to have regained my health

TopSec Thu 05-Jan-23 13:06:09

I've had my 4th and flu vaccination, as has my DH. We were both fine but do appreciate the hesitancy of some who have not faired so well with the vaccinations.

Well, I've had two vaccines - not having third.

A few points:

We are told to get the vaccine so as not to 'spread' the virus, but the vaccine does not prevent us catching the virus. We are told we get the virus more mildly if we are vaccinated, but how is that verified?

And if we get the virus more mildly (maybe not even knowing we are infected) that could surely mean we spread the virus MORE, because we do not realise we are infectious (unless you are one of those people who test all the time, anyway)

This vaccine is BIG BUSINESS for drug companies. One Pfizer executive said that Covid was 'Christmas every day.' Regardless of any statistic or other information, that mere fact is NOT conducive to trust. When it comes to making large sums of money, many people are unscrupulous. Arguably, it is the more unscrupulous types that make it to positions of power in large corporations. Go figure.

Sensible debate by educated professionals on vaccine pros and cons is missing from the media. I find that highly suspicious. Science is not dogma, it is an ever-evolving exploration. Not so with vaccinations. The Establishment view is the only one we are allowed to hear.

I have not heard anyone say anything about lifestyle and diet as ways to boost the immune system. It's all vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. Why are we not being advised to do basic things, like walk every day, get fresh air, plenty of sleep, make sure we get enough Vitamin C and D etc? Could this be because no-one makes much profit from that?

Those people who say they've only had minor reactions to the vaccine - how can they KNOW? A sore arm, a couple of days in bed is nothing, agreed, if it keeps you out of hospital. But how can you be sure that your body isn't going to react long term, with anything from blood clots to cancer? Who is going to monitor that?

As I understand it, there are fairly cheap drugs, such as ivermectin that have been successful in treating Covid (in Israel, for example) but for some reason these are not generally used.

Reputable doctors have had their vaccine-questioning articles suppressed, some have lost their status and their jobs. Sorry, can't quote my source, so doubt this if you will.

A frightened populace is a populace that is easy to manipulate (up to a point, of course)

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, although I do not rule out the possibility of conspiracies. However, if I ever dare to raise my voice to question the vaccine I am shouted down and even suspected of being a Trump supporter!! Opinions are polarised, there is little sensible middle ground. To me that is dodgy.

Just sayin'

undines Sensible debate by educated professionals about vaccines is freely available in the public domain. If you haven't seen it, you're looking in the wrong places.

Had my first two vaccines earlier than I would have chosen for non-medical reasons. Consequently, needed a third jab before I went on holiday. This wouldn't have been needed had I waited to have my initial jab. Six weeks later tested positive for covid for the first time. Don't have an awful lot of faith in the vaccines so won't be having another unless I am forced to do so in order to go abroad.

It was made very clear that the vaccine was to prevent the need for hospital ICU beds. They never claimed to prevent covid all together.

It’s very selfish to go out and about if you are unvaccinated and could spread the disease to vulnerable people with health issues.

DutchDoll Thu 05-Jan-23 13:45:50

I've had 6. 2 AstraZeneca, 2 Pfizer and 2 Moderna. Plus my flu vaccinations every year.
I have PMR and have been on steroids since summer 2020. This means that I have lowered immunity.
I'd rather have the jabs than the bugs!

Cedardove Thu 05-Jan-23 13:48:24

I have had all 4 Covid vaccinations and a flu one every year. I also paid for a shingles one recently because I don’t want to get shingles again after the last time I had it. Neither myself or my husband have had Covid as far as we know. And last week my daughter in law had a very mild dose of it - she has had 4 vaccinations too (but the last in September rather than in November when we had the booster) But although we had spent quite a lot of time with her, we didn’t get it. Neither did my son who had all 4 vaccinations too. Two friends have recently tested positive for Covid but had no symptoms. They had also had 4 vaccinations. I am fairly convinced the vaccinations are protective for a certain length of time. But I add immune boosting things like Vit D, Zinc, fruit and veg and exercise too just as a bonus!

Kamiso I don't believe there has ever been any evidence that unvaccinated people are more likely to spread the disease.

I'm not questioning the wisdom of being vaccinated (far from it), but this kind of misinformation plays into the hands of the anti-vaxxers.

Swollen lymph glands after a vaccination proves your immune system is doing it's job.

Exactly. This was pointed out to me while having a yearly thyroid scan.

I've not been able to get a 4th vaccine all the centres are to far away and I can't drive because of catarracts. I would have one if I could. I'm told the new variant is much more infectious.

varian Thu 05-Jan-23 14:39:28

My OH and I currently have covid. We are feeling a bit groggy but if we had caught it two years ago we would almost certainly have been very ill, because of our age and health issues. We might well have been hospitalised and possibly one or both of us could have died.

Be grateful for the vaccines - and say yes to every offer of a booster.

Wheniwasyourage Thu 05-Jan-23 14:54:39

undines, among the many things you assert without any proof, the idea that ivermectin has worked in Israel must count as a contender for the stupidest most surprising. I am pretty sure that American researchers have disproved that one as Trump was pushing it and they didn't want the death toll to go any higher.

I am not giving any links either, so you are welcome to accuse me of putting rubbish forward.

AGAA4 Thu 05-Jan-23 14:56:04

I'm too much of a coward to take the risk of catching covid and flu so have had all the vaccines available to me. My children have all had covid. My DD was quite ill as she caught it before her first vaccine. The others had it mildly after 2 doses of the vaccine.

Nannashirlz Thu 05-Jan-23 15:31:48

Being there and done that one I’ve had 6 done waiting for my 7th and also had flu and pneumonia jabs too lok

Greciangirl Thu 05-Jan-23 15:46:09

Why on Earth would anyone refuse to have something that has the potential to protect and prevent death.

It’s free and usually doesn’t have any side effects.

Personally, I would like more vaccines, especially since the Chinese have opened up their borders and allowing untested and untreated people back into our country.

I don’t think any more vaccinations are on the horizon.
The government are leaving us to it now.
If they are offered then I’m first in the queue.

Homefarm... could you ring Age Concern and ask if they know of any volunteers who could drive you to a centre?

ExDancer Thu 05-Jan-23 16:07:22

My husband had his 3rd but his 4th was postponed because he was due due to have a hospital procedure.
We both caught covid, he was very seriously ill with it, I experienced no more than a heavy cold, but I'd had my 4th jab.
Coincidence? We'll never know will we.

Nannan2 Thu 05-Jan-23 16:25:30

I fully agree with Oopsadaisy1 &ParlorGames.

seadragon Thu 05-Jan-23 16:26:51

I had projectile vomiting with the first 3 Covid vaccinations so dreaded the 4th which was to be jointly delivered together with the flu vaccine... No side effects at all apart from the usual discomfort in my arm after the flu vaccine.

homefarm Thu 05-Jan-23 16:38:29

Thank you pascal30 I will try them, I didn't know that they could help me

Paperbackwriter Thu 05-Jan-23 16:49:54

Honestly, if you've already had 3 Covid shots, why would you suddenly decide that's enough and refuse another? Unless of course you have access to medical information that the rest of us aren't aware of? Just have it, FFS.

patpat1 Thu 05-Jan-23 18:12:18

I’ve had 5 so far and 1 flu. Very grateful to have been offered all those. I have had no ill effects from any, maybe I’ve just been lucky. I will also have more if they are offered!

pen50 Thu 05-Jan-23 19:46:07

Had all four offered to me plus flu. No hesitation. Have managed so far, touch wood, to avoid COVID completely.

Shizam Thu 05-Jan-23 20:09:22

I’ve had all the Covid jabs, flu, too. If someone offers me a way to hopefully avoid being ill, I’ll take it. Have just nursed a very flattened young person through flu. It was harsh.

Tamayra Thu 05-Jan-23 20:15:44

When will folk get the message The vaccines don’t work !
Lots of proof from both doctors & scientists if you care to research
Long term effects are not known & death rate risen for those jabbed. Folk are being used as Guinea pigs!
