Well, according to him, we have voted to "break up the EU"

Erm, no, the vote was just for leaving. Just goes to show how much of a grasp he has.

I despair, that such an ill informed person is in such a position

I feel sorry for the Queen, having to be polite to such a predatory, sexually assaulting, obnoxious oik.

dollyjo Sat 14-Jul-18 12:39:09

He insults people for effect and then retracts what he has said - every time. That way he gets more personal attention.

I thought May's split in her skirt was way too high. Didn't she realise that when climbing up steps, the split goes higher. I was looking for her knickers or maybe she was
wearing a thong!

Pebbles77 Sat 14-Jul-18 13:02:01

starbox Exactly .....double standards inmho ..... the word tyrant has been used about him
Isnt it outrageous ? ..... white black or whatever ... a tyrant is a tyrant in any bodies language ....

granny2one Sat 14-Jul-18 13:25:34

But what has she got stuck on her right arm? Her battery?

OldMeg Sat 14-Jul-18 13:35:02

Bugs that’s very true. My next door neighbour is American and she’s so embarrassed by him that she keeps apologising to us.

Emptynester Sat 14-Jul-18 13:40:59

Oh Nigglynellie! Are you seriously comparing a young model with a billionaires bank balance with a full time working woman, twice her age, who is in the middle of one of the most critical times of her political career. Let’s face it, if she’d been wearing something special from aswanky designer that would have been wrong. I thought the outfit fine for what it was.
Merlotgran TM is not in the army neither was it a mess dinner so why would that apply.

Mads Sat 14-Jul-18 13:50:39

We are such a terrible critical country here in the UK, we have got worse over the years. Very sad. We never have anything nice to say. Perhaps we should look at ourselves a bit more.

Grandad1943 Sat 14-Jul-18 14:11:04

I think that in this country we have not been critical enough of those who have got us all into this Brexit shambles. In that we now have to "suck up" to this tyrant and beg, hoping he will give us a trade deal.

merlotgran Sat 14-Jul-18 14:16:07

Obama threatened to put us at the back of the queue so if he were still president we'd be sucking up to him.

NannyC2 Sat 14-Jul-18 14:34:55

Should we be judgemental about others when we don't personally know them?

I don't feel sorry for the Queen, she is a great lady and I am sure, can handle any situation or person.

Okay, President Trump may have said/ some crazy things, but he does something which very few people are brave enough to do these days.....he says what he thinks. A lot of what he says, I agree with and I am not afraid of what other people may think.
We are fed so much false news these days, and sadly, people believe it!

As for Melania....if the Chelsea penshioners and young children she played bowls with, like her, who are we to say she is just an 'ornament.' She is attractive and may well have a very nice disposition ........please do not keep on judging just by what you see or hear others saying.

One day, we all will be judged, that is a certainty.

Grandad1943 Sat 14-Jul-18 14:37:29

If we have to "suck up" to any American President for a trade deal it means we would undoubtedly be better off remaining within the EU.

AdeleJay Sat 14-Jul-18 14:59:46

I feel that the initial invitation was a misjudgement. But then I suppose when it was issued we couldn’t possibly imagine just how bad Trump would be. We’ve gone to huge expense to host his visit and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there was no good trade deal to be had. And on a slightly different note, I disagreed with the Trump baby blimp being allowed; we should not stoop to his low level. I despair of what is happening in the public eye, where is diplomacy, humility, empathy? What does tho tell our grandchildren?

quizqueen Sat 14-Jul-18 15:52:27

Well, the Queen has had to put up with her husband's inappropriate comments for years so it will be water off a duck's back to her and Prince Philip is supposed to have some sort of breeding and knows the protocol.

Not all gransnetters are Trump haters. The comments here are getting rather boring and low class and some incite violence or depraved acts, which says more about the commentators than it does about Mr Trump.

If people actually did their own research they would find
a) Time magazine have admitted that the photo of the 'caged ' child on their cover was fake.
b) Obama and other former Presidents interned illegal immigrants too while waiting decisions on deportation; it's nothing new.
c) When Donald waved his arms about when talking about a reporter with a disability, he was not belittling him because that particular reporter's disability does not make him have uncontrolled movements.

However, let's not care about facts when it's so easy just to believe everything the BBC says and hate someone whom you have never met or are likely to. I also think there aren't many men alive who haven't make sexist remarks about young attractive women. Perhaps even some of them may be your husbands or your sons!!!

LuckyFour Sat 14-Jul-18 15:54:09

I don't like Trump, his politics, or his stance on immigration etc. plus he is delusional -somehow thinking he is well liked. However I think people's behaviour, the protests, the inflatable baby etc is utterly ridiculous and very disrespectful. We should be showing him a better way to behave not behaving even worse than him. It's making Brits look stupid in the eyes of America and the rest of the world.

SueDoku Sat 14-Jul-18 16:14:22

granny2one The'battery' on TM's arm is an electronic blood sugar monitor, as she has T1 diabetes.

Devorgilla Sat 14-Jul-18 16:22:18

granny2one - as SuDoku states it is to control her Type 1. My grandson has the same system. Cuts down need to prick finger to test which can damage the nerve ends of fingers. Also, can be electronically connected to alarm to alert you to too high or low sugar. I think she is brave to wear it on 'show' on these occasions but it helps to highlight to young people that Type 1 can be managed.

starbox Sat 14-Jul-18 16:28:42

quizqueen- very well put.

Anniebach Sat 14-Jul-18 16:38:43

Low class ? depraved acts? perfect description of Trump

starbox Sat 14-Jul-18 16:38:48

Re: separating kids from families. No, none of us like that idea. As a mother & grandma, I agree it IS upsetting. So why do US do it- must cost more in paying carers to mind kids. The facts are: US has a HUGE Mexican immigration issue (think of poor old Italy being swamped as we've seen.) Repeated attempts to enter result in jail (I think they just deport them at first.) That's not unreasonable. And then kids cant go to jail too- care system only option. I see that we cant just go all sentimental & 'let them all in, little loves.' Theyve taken nearly 3000 kids into care in last 9 months. A relative (UK) used to date an illegal immigrant (Kosovo.) He was deported a few times, kept returning & ended up in some centre. He was single, but I assume if he'd had a kid in tow, it wouldve ended up in care. I know it offends our sentimentalism, but there's no way out. (And if Mexicans tell the folk back home what awaits them, I guess it's going to reduce immigration. And Trump has to look out for his own country, not Mexico.

Conni7 Sat 14-Jul-18 16:38:48

I can't understand how British people can be so disrespectful to the President of the United States. At least respect the office even if you don't like the man. What impression of Britain do all these demonstrations give to countries around the world? Infantile? Spiteful? Are we really like that?

gillybob Sat 14-Jul-18 16:51:18

I agree with you Conni7 I thought we Brits behaved better than that but obviously not .

Peaseblossom Sat 14-Jul-18 16:58:14

Starbox Totally agree with you. Rather have him for PM than any of our lot, especially commie Corbyn.

Sillyoldfool Sat 14-Jul-18 17:44:00

No you are not.

Sparklefizz Sat 14-Jul-18 18:44:55

I think Michele Obama made a good comment a few years ago which seems to apply here:

When other people go low, you go high

Jalima1108 Sat 14-Jul-18 19:19:48

Yes - I remember that! thank you for reminding us Sparklefizz

Now there is a woman I would like to see as POTUS!

BlueBelle Sat 14-Jul-18 19:32:26

There’s a few people here I won’t be inviting to my birthday party anyone here who thinks the trump is an ok person don’t apply I can never never never feel comfortable in the company of a racist, misogynist, disabled hater, climate changing disbeliever, immigrant hater ( although he is one) or anyone who believes these things are ok
Personally I think he makes Kim Jon Un seem like a pussy cat
