It has been a coup by the hard right, they will never give in.

Absolutely - they should never have gone on their jollies with this catastrophy ahead- crazy. If Johnson won't call Parliament back - others should just get together and organise in another venue.

Johnson is supposed to be meeting with Merkel and Macron, to try to convince them of the need to negotiate another deal minus the backstop.

It ain’t going to happen. He knows that, but he has to be seen trying. Of course some will be gullible enough to believe Johnson.

There has been talk of leaving early on twitter, but I think that it is highly likely to be just talk, as the U.K. needs much more preparation.

Boris might consider Leaving a couple of days earlier as 31 October is a Thursday - slightly inconvenient for a next day seismic changeover but traders say they are well prepared for No Deal.

With a bit of luck the Queen could step in and call a halt.

It is rubbish to talk of leaving even a day early it is illegal and simply won’t be recognised.

I see that the government is issuing project fear notices, saying that there will be food shortages as well as medicine.

No deal is the default position of article 50 passed into law by 80% of MP's, if a deal is not forthcoming that parliament and the EU can agree. As this would appear to be the position how can this be undemocratic?!

It's undemocratic because that is not what people voted for. That is not what Leave voters were promised.

Extraordinary how Leavers keep insisting that Idiot Cameron's 'promise' to the electorate that the ref. result would be upheld is written in tablets of stone and never be disregarded yet they aren't so keen on holding the Leave campaigners to their promises.

Leave voters voted leave, they didn't vote for a deal or no deal because they weren't asked!! Cameron said lots of things, including how the referendum should be run! All approved by Parliament ! Perhaps experienced politicians didn't realise what they were voting for?!! Very probably If the last three years are anything to go by!!!!

They didn't put an actual cross against "No deal", but they were certainly promised some kind of deal - Swiss, Norwegian, "don't bother yourself about it - it will all be sorted, because countries will be queuing up to do deals with the UK".

If you go to a doctor, who promises to sort out the pain in your leg with little problem, you'll almost certainly agree. However, I wonder how many people would still agree if the doctor knew all along that amputation was necessary.

if leaving threatens the GFA ,then no trade deals with the USA ,how do leavers feel about that?

I'm really relishing seeing all those 'Wanting to Stay in EU Lot' getting their knickers in a twist - now that the end to their battle is in sight.

I wonder if you will also "relish" the aftermath if we do indeed leave without a deal.

Well, gangy5, prior to 29th March of this year we had a poster called Andy who was getting very excited about leaving the EU. He went quiet the day after.

This is part of the problem, gangy. Too many people refused to believe that it was going to happen (they still don't). They still live in hope of some last minute reprieve which will bring a halt to Brexit.
