Cummings game plan seems to be on course.

The tiny majority will be rendered a minority at a stroke by Cummings threat to take the whip away from any Tory rebels.

Johnson has then scapegoats to blame for his failure to deliver a brexit deal, and an excuse to go for a GE.

Labour will then fall in with the game plan by holding a VONC and a GE looks a distinct possibility sometime in Oct.
Johnson will fight it as the people v the elite who failed to deliver the democratic vote. (Bannon writ large)

The U.K. will then crash out on Nov 1st. No attempt is being made by Cummings to get a deal and in any case his contact finishes on Oct 31st.

Oh, isn’t he terrible !! ??

All PMs have pets in the household,( they may or may not like them) there will be plenty of people to feed walk and pat it, including Johnson’s girlfriend.

Labaik Thu 05-Sept-19 18:37:50

I don't recall a previous PM having a cute little dog. I thought Larry was there to keep the mice at bay...

Does anyone seriously think that any political advisors are ‘nice’? (Thu 05-Sep-19 18:28:04)

Yes, without a doubt. They just don't get splashed all over the papers. Most of them are not even heard about until they stop being advisors.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 18:47:13

Larry belongs to No 10, not the PM, surely?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:15:52

Don’t forget Johnson was an hour late making the policewomen wait in the sun and then even though she had collapsed he continued to talk.

Unbelievable

Whitewavemark2 Thu 05-Sept-19 19:17:23

Johnson has a very poor reputation about laziness and ever preparing. That speech made the truth is that crystal clear.

It was the worst speech I have ever heard

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 19:37:47

Anyone remember Alistair Campbell, Blair’s advisor?Or the two special advisors to T May that wrecked her GE majority?
These people do not get to where they are by being all round good eggs.
They are ambitious and ruthless with tunnel vision.
Actually like many politicians.

Iam64 Thu 05-Sept-19 20:02:35

I was shocked to see Johnson continue to talk, after he'd been made aware the young cadet was ill. She then collapsed and he saw this, turned to look, turned back and carried on talking. Just awful behaviour, by any standard.

lemongrove , of course we all remember Alistair Campbell. He was at least a member and supporter of the LP. This dreadful drunken bully appointed by Boris Johnson isn't even a Conservative.

The news of Joe Johnson's resignation and departure from Politics adds to the shocking news this week. The Conservatives are losing some of their best MP's. I wonder what it will take for the remaining Conservative Remain / avoid a hard Brexit, supporting MP's to be honest?

Labaik Thu 05-Sept-19 20:13:12

Sounds as though people like Amber Rudd and Nicky Morgan are getting a bit jittery...

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 21:05:26

I don’t think that political advisors have to be members of a political party Iam64.
Campbell may or may not have enjoyed a few drinks ( like
Cummings) .... I have no idea if he is staggering around drunkenly mind you. They are all bullies though.
Malcolm in The Thick Of It was modelled on Campbell.

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 21:07:05

The point is, posters appear to think that until the advent of Dominic Cummings, all advisors were sweetness and light.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 21:08:48

Lemon grove, your post of 19:37 seems to be another one determined to get others to say that Dominic Cummings is one of the good guys or at least he is no worse than others. I think you are wrong. Others think you are wrong. That doesn't mean you can't stick to your point of view but I do think you are fighting a losing battle with most people.

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 21:11:24

Sounds as though people like Amber Rudd and Nicky Morgan are getting a bit jittery...

So they should be in my opinion.

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 21:13:20

Iam64 I believe that they are all as bad as each other ( advisors) and have come to the conclusion that many MP’s are the same.
There is a case that they need to be to survive in Westminster.

Labaik Thu 05-Sept-19 21:13:28

'The point is, posters appear to think that until the advent of Dominic Cummings, all advisors were sweetness and light'. When did people say that?

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 21:14:38

It was inherent in the posts.

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 21:15:30

Nobody actually has to say the words ‘sweetness and light’.hmm

Whitewavemark2 Thu 05-Sept-19 21:16:18

lemon ?time to stop digging or else you will disappear entirely

lemongrove Thu 05-Sept-19 21:21:12

Into another web, underneath this one??
Sometimes the point just has to be made, when others appear not to get it, but yes, ultimately a fruitless exercise, when all some posters want is ‘Cummings is evil!’

GracesGranMK3 Thu 05-Sept-19 21:55:54

It seems we are seeing the real Jacob Rees Mogg too. What a despicable coward.

jura2 Thu 05-Sept-19 22:20:23

Cummings is evil

jura2 Thu 05-Sept-19 22:21:09

Amber and Nicky should have the guts to cross the floor asap, or resign.

M0nica Fri 06-Sept-19 10:06:41

Cummings isn't evil. He is stupid. Once the advisor becomes the story, his cover is blown and he is heading for the 'out' door.

A 'good' advisor, whether his advice is 'good' or not keeps out of sight and makes sure the person he/she advises gets all the credit for the advise they receive.

It is damaging to a Prime Minster or any other prime mover, when it is very obvious that the tail is wagging the dog.

Labaik Fri 06-Sept-19 16:30:42

I don't think he's stupid but I do think he's made the mistake of thinking other people are stupid; which they aren't.

lemongrove Fri 06-Sept-19 17:31:50

I think it was like that in the dim and distant past Monica
( advisors in the shadows) but not relatively recently.
Everyone talked of Campbell pulling the strings with Blair, and there were some very funny sketches about it.
Nothing is hidden ( for long!) now.
