Actually that's a misleading piece of information Chestnut In fact although we have risen in the ranks our scores for reading and science have in fact remained much the same as 2006. So no real improvement I'm afraid. The organiser of the tests says that if the UK wants to rise to the top it needs to invest in teachers. Something I am sure the Tories will continue not to do. I almost laughed at your assessment of Gove's period as Education Secretary, unfortunately teachers had to endure him which was beyond a joke.
