That was quick......wonder what’s going on?

JuneRose Sat 03-Oct-20 09:18:58

I know what you were trying to say susiewoozie and I thought exactly the same. They down played boris illness at first.

He will be fine. He is a billionaire. He will have the best treatment on tap not available to millions of others. He will come out all super smug about being fit and in tremendous shape, and how America has the best healthcare in the world, and we shouldn’t worry about a bit of Chinese flu etc.

I disagree vegansrock.

If being a millionaire (or more) guaranteed the best of care and always a recovery, don’t you think Paul MacCartney would still have Linda?

vegansrock Sat 03-Oct-20 09:35:53

Yes the government did downplay his illness, mild symptoms, in great form, good spirits etc. Precautionary tests, observation, running the country from his hospital bed etc. I did wonder how anyone could be in ITU and be sitting up and joking, but who knows. Where has anyone said hospital staff lied ? the hospital staff didn’t issue press releases the politicians did. Someone is trying to twist the facts here.

vegansrock Sat 03-Oct-20 09:39:03

Does no one think Trump will get superior medical care than millions of ordinary Americans? He’s got a presidential suite in a hospital with every top consultant dancing around him. Of course that does not guarantee good health or immortality but he will have a better chance than many of beating the virus.

Fake News!!!!

suziewoozie Sat 03-Oct-20 09:39:56

Thanks Furret

Tweedle24 Sat 03-Oct-20 09:41:48

Whether one likes him or not, he is the POTUS — ostensibly the most powerful political position in the free world. He is going to be given the best possible treatment available in the best possible environment.

suziewoozie Sat 03-Oct-20 09:44:10

Thanks JuneRose. As the thread was called Trump tsken to hospital, I was silly enough to think that my two very brief early posts would be obviously understood as relating to this and BJ’s hospitalisation. I forgot to factor in the Humpty Dumpty view of what words mean as seen sometimes on GN. ?

CarlyD7 Sat 03-Oct-20 09:44:13

Hard to feel sorry for him - he made a big macho show about hardly ever wearing a mask - even snide remarks about it aimed at Joe Biden during the recent presidential debate; how many Americans have become sick because they followed his lead? How many Americans will have little or no health cover because of his opposition to a universal healthcare (that Obama brought in)? And given his alleged past activities with women of "ill repute" I would suspect that Covid isn't the only infection he's carrying. It's also been rumoured for a long time that he also has Lyme. He's also 74, clinically obese and never exercises. He is a timebomb waiting to go off. If he isn't left with medical conditions, it will be a miracle.

Speldnan Sat 03-Oct-20 09:51:46

The world would be a better place without him but he’s bound to recover and pass it off as nothing and if he doesn’t he’ll become a martyr which would be just as bad.

Bet price of Remdesivir rockets.

Granartisan Sat 03-Oct-20 09:54:19

Do we care?

Heathcliff23 Sat 03-Oct-20 09:55:11

I am currently in hospital with Covid. Mine deteriorated rapidly in 24 hrs to the extent of not being able to breath and having to call an ambulance so it can happen that quick

Struggling2do1 Sat 03-Oct-20 09:57:07

DT is a massive threat to the world. His administration has plunged the USA into chaos. Another 4 years will do untold damage to the US but also to the world. If I had been alive during WW2 I would have been wishing/wanting Hitlers death. I feel that Trump is as dangerous. He has dismissed and downplayed Covid which has caused many unnecessary deaths, he is now getting a dose of what he deserves. I for one do not wish him well.

MrsRochester Sat 03-Oct-20 09:57:30

How are you doing, Heathcliff? Hope you’re on your way to recovery.

Thank you for asking Mrs Rochester. I have had excellent care, steroids antibiotics and oxygen and am starting to feel better. I really cannot find the words to explain how ill I felt. I truly did not realise the rapid speed and effect this virus can have on your body. I feel very lucky and immensely grateful for such wonderful prompt care from our wonderful NHS

There was absolutely no suggestion that NHS staff were lying - until the accusations started. When you read the post through, it's very pathetic, just any excuse to put the boot in!

NHS staff have seriously breached patient confidentiality if they have said anything at all about Johnson's illness apart from the most anodyne of observations, such as 'he made us laugh' (I'm using this as a made up example). All those who have worked, or who have relatives currently working, in the NHS ought to know that.

Here’s hoping all medical staff are Trump supporters. Must be very difficult to administer the best of care to someone you despise knowing so many can’t afford any hospital care due to this particular patient.

Thank you whitewave Mark 2

Anyone think he’ll be injecting himself with disinfectant? didn’t he think this seemed like a good idea at one of his COVID press conferences?

The medical staff will be better than that, if they’re anything like UK professionals. They just get on with the job in hand, whoever the patient. Special people, not sure I could do the same.
