Anyone watching this now? He really does talk the talk doesn’t he. Has just stated that no health worker has died due to lack of PPE. At least Sarah Owen is now giving him a good grilling.

Daisymae Sun 27-Jun-21 07:41:04

The last line of Johnson's acceptance letter says that he believes that Hancock's public service is far from over. He'll be back ...........

Well your first sentence is a good clue. Javid has had a number of government appointments and he has not excelled in a single one of them. We need someone of better quality than that.

There is nothing to suggest that he knows anything about health. Hunt would have been the better appointment.

He backs austerity and privatisation.

Daisymae Sun 27-Jun-21 07:53:20

It seems that the only experience necessary is to back the PM.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 27-Jun-21 08:22:44

Just reading - something I’d forgotten - that Javid was appointed as senior paid advisor at JP Morgan last year.

JPMorgan are big in private health.

It seems that all the ducks are in a row just need Dido and it’s complete .

Health insurance anyone?

OnwardandUpward Sun 27-Jun-21 08:56:25

Well maybe he mentioned the vaccination programme twice because of his conduct. I mean, there are a whole range of nutters who don't think covid is even real- and his ;latest conduct will have had them all saying "told you it wasnt even real. The government know its not real"

MawBe Sun 27-Jun-21 08:58:50

They can’t all take the credit for the vaccination roll-out can they?
Especially as it largely achieved by Kate Bingham - not a government minister in sight

Not often we agree WwMk2 but what niggles me most is the sheer incompetence we are seeing, closely followed by the ineptitude of these third-rate nonentities.
Never mind the politics (well, we do) but they couldn’t run a bath.

theworriedwell Sun 27-Jun-21 09:05:33

I think it is disgusting how they seem to ignore what Kate Bingham achieved. Also the NHS and the volunteers not to mention the scientists but it is all how wonderful MH and the govt have been. If they had the slightest decency they would point out that many many people deserve more praise than they do.

I am pleased Sajid Javid has been appointed. Matt Hancock made the right decision. However, he should not have been allowed to make the decision. I fully realise my comment will anger a certain few on here. This is my opinion. I am not insulting anyone who does not agree.

OnwardandUpward Sun 27-Jun-21 09:11:33

I fail to see the attraction of MH. Ages ago I remember reading on Mumsnet that many there fancied him and I was flabbergasted.

Yes.

Yes.

Aren’t we concerned about appointing someone who could perhaps do the job?

Their fanciability doesn’t come into it.

eazybee Sun 27-Jun-21 09:39:47

I believe the appointment of Savid Javid was a sensible one and i am glad that he has accepted it.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 27-Jun-21 09:44:22

Jeremy Hunt was extremely unpopular with those working in the NHS, he was in my opinion never in the frame to return to the cabinet as Health Minister.

Let’s see how Mr,Javid gets on in the post before denigrating him.

Sometimes I like things that people do, even though I do not like them. Sometimes I do not like things people do, even though I do like them. I tend to think this is the problem within politics. So many people are unwilling or indeed unable to do this.

Dinahmo Sun 27-Jun-21 11:43:06

Gina C has resigned and apparently she and MH are planning to move in together. That suggests that the relationship has been going on for much longer that most of us thought. Which further suggests that he's more two faced than even his supporters thought.

JaneJudge Sun 27-Jun-21 11:48:04

Did anyone watch the BBC news last night? At the end it said 'Matt Hancock has said he has left his wife'
it was really quite confused

Chewbacca Sun 27-Jun-21 11:49:54

They're well suited to each other; both liars, both untrustworthy and both hypocrites. The only casualties in this that I feel sorry for are their spouses and children.

MayBee70 Sun 27-Jun-21 11:50:48

Well he must have some lucrative consultancies lined up to pay for his divorce/maintenance fees etc. He’s not going to afford those on his MP’s salary. Wonder what his constituents think of him?

People have affairs, always have and always will.

My problem with Mr.Hancock is the hypocrisy of telling us all not to hug family and friends whilst he obviously was.

The Government are launching an enquiry into the filming and release of said film to the media. I imagine it contravenes many privacy laws?

I do hope that the press find some morals and stop hounding Mrs.Hancock, she has enough to deal with without having cameras pointed at her 24/7.

JaneJudge Sun 27-Jun-21 11:53:24

It must contravene security protocols too I'd imagine, if it was inside a government building

Casdon Sun 27-Jun-21 12:13:16

I think he should have allowed his wife the dignity of kicking him out instead of saying he had left her. The poor lady deserves some respect, and I agree GrannyGravy13, the press should leave her alone completely now, she has deserves our compassion, not being hounded. As does Mr Bonas for that matter.

Exactly !! Thanks to the NHS and a huge army of volunteers.

I should think she’s glad he’s gone. Now she can take him to the cleaners.

NotSpaghetti Sun 27-Jun-21 13:05:29

He's Oliver Tress, not Bonas (that's the business name).
Not really important as we know who you mean.

NotSpaghetti Sun 27-Jun-21 13:15:25

Gina Coladangelo is a multi-millionaire so I don't think Hancock will be struggling to survive.

Her father "came out in her defense" yesterday as well so mo doubt he will bankroll if need be.
