Caitlyn Jenner 's view.

snowberryZ Sun 20-Mar-22 08:59:50

Genuine question.
If a man has already been through puberty before he starts taking female hormones, does the lack of testosterone shrink his heart and his lungs and his better suited to sport narrow pelvis? Does it change bone density?
Or does he still retain these many advantageous male characteristics? confused

Mollygo Sun 20-Mar-22 09:07:34

Genuine answer snowberryZ
No it doesn’t make any of those changes. Yes he does retain these many advantageous male characteristics.
No, none of that matters to those men and women who condone the cheating.

This is an extract from a letter published in the New York Post from the mothers of the girl swimmers (who are up till now have been Uni champions, the best) who have had to compete agains Lia

It's time human athletes were categorised not according to sex but according to past form only, or given handicaps like golfers. Maybe.

Iam64 Sun 20-Mar-22 09:53:29

Thanks for posting that letter GrannyGravy13. Well said those women/mothers

Rosie51 you are so right. I am involved with a women’s football club. For a trans women to play they have to pass certain medical tests before being allowed to do so basically showing testosterone levels are below a certain level. The problem if I may call it that is when the trans person does this later in life having developed as a man. We had a trans goal keeper play against us. He was tall, broad, had large hands and a deep voice. The girls were terrified and avoided getting close. It did give the other team a distinct advantage but it was permitted. It is a concern.

It’s time human athletes were categorised according to sex, until it’s proven that being of one sex or another makes no difference.

I like the handicap idea though I suspect certain competitors would hide their light under a bushel in heats to avoid being given a handicap in the finals. Just another way of cheating.

Bridgeit Sun 20-Mar-22 10:22:40

Perhaps it should be categorised in the same way that boxing & wrestling is.
Example : Heavy weight, light weight, bantam weight etc..

Iam64 Sun 20-Mar-22 10:26:58

I don’t think that would work Brigeit. I’m taller and heavier than sone men I know, they all have greater strength and speed than I.

I’m with mollygo, or alternatively, separate competitions for trans people

‘She’ is not she, she is he! He is a complete male, has not had his genitals removed. No one with a penis should be allowed to compete in female events. It’s wrong and totally unfair on the female competitors.

It's funny how they want to get rid of all their male characteristics except that very body part that has I Am Male written all over it.

Surely someone who truly wants to be a woman would be repulsed by having one?confused

Just saw this

Right then. So it's nothing to do with Manuel 's sex, it's to do with the drugs Manuel has taken.

It’s to do with safety.

I have a very dear and close friend who is trans and absolutely appalled by this cheating person. She feels it gives all of her trans friends a bad name and draws out hatred and discrimination where before there was some but not to this degree. A cheat is a cheat.

I'm so sorry your dear friend is having that experience. She and her friends should not have to face more discrimination unfairly like that

Nannee49 Sun 20-Mar-22 11:30:54

I can't get my head round what would be the motivation for transwomen to enter competitions if they know, before their transistioning is completed, they are still bigger/stronger and therefore have an advantage and are more likely to win purely through that. To me, any victory on those terms would seem a bit hollow.

Yes Nanna8. A cheat is indeed a cheat. Even trans people are saying it is wrong and that it implies all trans are the same which adds to any problems they face. Sadly it is unlikely that the cheats feel any remorse for what they are doing.
What is worse is that the cheating is endorsed by women who cannot see anything wrong with cheating.
If those involved with young people as some on here claim to be, are teaching that cheating is right either by saying that or by demonstrating it by their words and actions, even on GN, they should be ashamed. (But I don’t hold out much hope.)
