Braverman's behaviour in parliament today proves nothing has changed.

Suella Braverman scuttling out of the commons today to avoid scrutiny is a clear indication that nothing has changed with the Tories. The question from Yvette Cooper was tabled in plenty of time so she has no excuses. The fact that she walked out in full view of the speaker doesn't enhance his reputation either.

*Something else we should be seriously concerned about is the number of MP's elected by us, the British people, who seem to have no care for this country and its people.*

Indeed we should be worried. We are ruled by a government that has no idea what the word service means - hence the decline in the NHS, transport, care and all the rest. They truly have no concern for the country and its people - all its people.

I hope people realise that my above post was intended to distance myself from the far right of Gransnet, and make clear that this government is failing all of us - native born and immigrant - by not providing proper services - and indeed by deliberately running them down.

Yes, you were very clear Luckygirl3, please don't worry about it. 💐

I think the murderer of Jo Cox MP shouted "Britain First"

MayBee70 Thu 03-Nov-22 19:42:31

I really thought that a lesson would be learned from the tragic murder of Jo Cox. All these years later and, sadly, it wasn’t to be.

Thank you for the link to Mumsnet. Very interesting.

I'm really wondering, for Sunak is perfectly aware of the "Braverman affect: - what he thinks he's doing leaving her there, what's his game? Feed the far right enough rope to hang themselves?

if so, it's a very dangerous game..

Oh don't start.

She's no lady and she's not going to stop anything.

And how can anyone know they are illegal if we haven't bothered to find out??
Waiting years to find out and make a decision is way too long.
Unbelievable and unforgivable.

I think his game is simple - she agrees to drop out of leadership race in return for a top job. He should have called her bluff once he was in.

They are playing politics with our lives. How dare they.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 04-Nov-22 09:20:32

And why the chinook?

It was all of a piece with her “at war” picture she is trying to paint with her rhetoric of invasion, criminal gangs etc.

This will, and has bred violence.

She should be stopped.

HousePlantQueen Fri 04-Nov-22 12:19:13

This monstrous woman must be sacked, the performance yesterday with her arriving in a Chinook at the refugee camp was not just unnecessary, it was disgusting. Can you imagine if you are a child that has spent terrifying months of travel, hunger, deprivation as your parents try to save your life and get you out of Syria or Afghanistan, and then a Chinook in full military colours lands next to where you are queueing up for food? I am not only appalled at her behaviour (no press?), I am appalled at people not calling her out for it. Just who the hell does she think she is?

Maudi Fri 04-Nov-22 21:31:38

Why should she be sacked because the lefty Lib Dems and Labour don't approve of her, well tough I think she is our only hope of stopping the small boats and I pray she succeeds but only time will tell.

Maudi Fri 04-Nov-22 21:38:09

Why is she "our only hope?

We are all concerned, for all kinds of reasons. But calling them invaders when there are vulnerable desperate refugees amongst them, including children, is frankly evil. do you really approve of her? Using the word "invasion"?

Please tell me - HOW does her calling people invaders help our distressed and fractured society?

Wyllow3 Fri 04-Nov-22 21:40:26

But under her own terms, her own family were in the past "invaders".

Ie immigrants.

I am pretty sure it is a dirty deal with her secret Group, who have been pulling all the strings, the ERG.

Wyllow3 Fri 04-Nov-22 21:58:54

Yes, it's very dangerous. A secret group having access to the heart of government. I hope we get much more exposure of them. Like their connections to Donald Trump.

Everyone accepts that is what has happened.

It keeps the far right wingers in power.

Power that about 30+ MPs have wielded, particularly since 2016.

It is a case of the tail wagging the dog, and every PM has been stymied by them since then.

Until the Tory party sorts this serious problem out we will continue to have crises after crises because the Tory party is so very divided.

A period out of office will focus their minds and is what the country badly needs.

Even dyed in the wool Tories would be doing their party a favour by voting them out of office for a period, as the country is in a death spiral which they can’t reverse as they are barely functioning as a government.

MayBee70 Sat 05-Nov-22 08:49:07

I’m sure Rory Stewart said in the podcast that the party were divided into 12 different factions.

Wyllow3 Sat 05-Nov-22 09:05:50

Thats intriguing, wonder what they all are!

I think we are witnessing the ending of a long reign of one party, whatever present circs it seems to happen anyway. What I fear is what the state will be when its changed. I swing between wanting a GE v soon, but I fear people have little appetite for it, versus a change when things are even more dire as to picking up the pieces.

Well - what a load of rubbish! She is hated because she is in thrall to the far right and represents a danger to our country.

People only bring up her race because because of her determination to demonise those, who like her own parents, need sanctuary. The irony is only too clear.

Maudi Sat 05-Nov-22 10:02:16

Suella Braverman is only hated by the lefty Lib Dems and Labour to say she is a danger to our country is absolutely ridiculous, no the worry by the left is that she might actually succeed in stopping the small boats and if she did it would boost the Conservatives chances of winning the next election.

volver Sat 05-Nov-22 10:21:37

I try not to hate anybody, but Braverman tries my resolve.

I'm neither Lib Dem nor Labour.

Wonder why I "hate" her? I await the deep political analysis that will explain my opinion to me.

Braverman, nor anyone else will ever succeed in stopping the immigrants. It has been happening for ever.

What is different is the dreadful rhetoric and Tory incompetence

In your dreams, Maudi

Nothing she can do will stop the small boats unless she radically changes her tactics, and I think the tory destruction of just about everything that people value in the UK will guarantee that they lose the next election.

I don't need to rehearse what harm they've done over the past 12 years, it's been said often enough...
