What do you think animals think about sharing the planet with humans
A Swell Idea From ASDA To Deter Shoplifters!
Suella Braverman scuttling out of the commons today to avoid scrutiny is a clear indication that nothing has changed with the Tories. The question from Yvette Cooper was tabled in plenty of time so she has no excuses. The fact that she walked out in full view of the speaker doesn't enhance his reputation either.

It's a well used political tactic to, first create a crisis and then present ourselves as the only ones who can solve it.
Yes Normandygirl it’s a tatic frequently used by cruel regimes throughout history. How sad!
MRSA now prevalent.
Their ignorance is beyond belief in those holding high office.
What on earth do they expect when people are crammed together without care or resources.
Their education must be abysmal.
It’s as if the people in power view these asylum seekers as less than human.
Thanks Volver. Frightening and depressing isn’t it!
Oh yes let’s all have a go at the lady that is going to stop the illegal immigrants coming here. While labour will open up our country and let them all in. And no I didn’t vote cons but anyone who can stop these ppl arriving in dinghies gets my vote.
Oh don't start.
She's no lady and she's not going to stop anything.
I’ve just seen that she’s now admitted to sending herself emails 6 times! She’s either stupid or arrogant - or both.

The actions of Braverman and her predecessor clearly haven’t ‘stopped’ anything so far, Nannashirlz. As I’m sure you’re aware, many of the people arriving here are genuinely fleeing from war zones e.g. Syria and Afghanistan and are seeking safety, on a human rights level. Are you suggesting that the UK denies them asylum?
The decision to stop moving these people on, was quite deliberate by Patel and now Braverman.

I have no idea what the solution is but if I lived alone and was in the receipt of this letter I would be worried
Not too easy to read, too small. I seriously thought it said Bunny Corner.
Yes, thank you. 👍🏼

Isn't the problem why and how she is trying to stop them?

Is this any better?
OK, now I've read it it's an absolute f***ing disgrace.
I am going to guess it's written by the warden of similar of the residence, or at least someone pretending to be. Who in a position of responsibility, would seriously say to someone in sheltered housing, ring 999 if you see someone looking suspicious. Who tells them to tell their MP in these circumstances?
The lack of appropriate use of commas and lack of a coherent message tells me a lot about the person writing this letter.
I agree WW The whole issue has been politicised when it’s actually about human rights - not right / left politics. If asylum claims were dealt with more speedily, those who are eligible to stay would be able to start contributing to society (we have hundreds of thousands of job vacancies); and those found not eligible could quickly be returned to their country of origin. No need for long term residence in detention centres or hotels. I wish both parties would work together on this - it’s about human rights, not party politics.

It’s fromDover District Council’s Independent Living Manager (on their headed paper) the people receiving it, would in all probability be scared.
My concern is it should not be necessary to send it out in the first place.

"Lady"? I'm not sure she would appreciate that.
I assume you mean stopping asylum seekers. Nothing they have done has worked. Neither is there anything to show Labour "will open up our country and let them all in". You seem to deal in untruths. “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.” You seem to be making them up to suit your own bias.
I am sure the "ppl" arriving in dinghies would like a legal route of access. How about backing someone who offers to put that in place? Both asylum seekers and economic migrants would almost certainly prefer that. That needs investment in real things like proper systems, sufficient people to process the applicants, a decent work permit system and negotiation with countries to which we may need to return people.
The problem is this government. It has moved so far to the right that suggesting it does such things is seen as "big government" even if its Trumpian "biglyness" would reduce once a proper system was running.

And are they less scared now? Are they reassured that the place where they live is taking all necessary steps to keep them safe? Or are they scared witless and ready to be suspicious of anyone they see who they don't immediately recognise?
If my parent lived in these facilities and received a letter like this I'd be fuming.
