Has anyone seen Urmstongran around?

I only mention this because she usually pops up on the N&P threads and I haven't seen any posts from her recently.

She might be on holiday of course, but I always worry slightly when a well-known poster seems to disappear.

Urmstongran is absolutely fine and dandy enjoying spending time with her family.

She is not in Malaga FannyCornworth she is in the U.K.

I remember before the referendum directing GNetters to an online lecture by a very well informed pro Remain speaker who set out the facts and likely consequences clearly and in no uncertain terms. One reply I got was that the poster in question “couldn’t be bothered to waste 10 minutes listening to it”
As the Scottish story goes

The anecdote predates Brexit by many many years, possibly even centuries and goes as follows ;
There was in times gone by a Scottish minister who preached on sin, the torments of hell and how the unrighteous in their agonies would claim ignorance of the consequences of their sinfulness:

"Oh Lord, we didnae ken, we didnae ken" (=know) they would wail.
He continued:
"And the Lord in his infinite mercy will say (pause) " Well ye ken noo “

My father told me that perhaps 70:years ago and his father had told him.

Brexit (and indeed the Scottish Independence referendum) were not even twinkles in their daddies’ eyes.

No they won’t. Because by the time my grandchildren are grown they will understand the value of being an independent sovereign state that can stand up for freedom everywhere.

The UK is now a nation that used to punch above its weight but can no longer do so. It is shrinking in the eyes of the rest of the world - witness Biden's 24 hours in Northern Ireland of which apparently 9 hours were spent asleep. Biden only managed to drink a cup of coffee with Sunak.

Nothing to do with the thread subject but was amused and horrified to read that the ‘leader of the free world’ confused the NZ rugby team with the black and tans.Maybe he’d had one Guinness too many, gawd knows what the crowd in the pub thought.
