Just remind me of how many people were going to be sent to Rwanda?
52.000 at any given time max.
I’ve pinched this question from James O’Brian. And to me it is obvious, - they are fascists - talking about replacing the police with paramilitaries and bringing back the death penalty as well as shoot f….g immigrants has huge echoes of 1930s Germany.
So why would you vote for him?

Thank you Dickens for your succinct summary, so well put.
At a time when many countries are turning to far right parties I’m so proud of the fact that we, hopefully, are going the other way. And will be world leaders because of it. Maybe we can all work together to make the UK a better place? Is it too much to ask?
I hope so.

I like to think that we are ahead of the curve in the UK.
We had our peculiar far right moment which brought about Brexit and division and hate.
Not so extreme of course, but the U.K. doesn’t do extreme.
Now I am looking to a future which bring about the reverse of division and hate as well as the economic harm we’ve inflicted on ourselves.
Step by step, slowly snd steadily. There is much to do.
I just LOVE the Led By Donkeys poster at the Columbine Centre😄😄😄😄👍👍👍
The only way to treat these people is to laugh at them!
Laughter much needed during the discussions here about the jester Farage. Thanks Led By Donkeys
Well next week the miracles begin. Lets see how.
No one is suggesting miracles. The pro labour/libdem/green etc posters here are all expressing genuine concern about how the next government can begin the process of re-building our country

Yes I’m worried to death. I. Think a collaboration between all the non-right parties is needed.
Hand in hand - we all pull together😄.
Wouldn’t that be a Good Thing.
Imagine if there is also an attempt to work constructively with the other European countries trying to find ways to help the flood of asylum seekers which as we all know, will increase due to climate change alongside wars / famine etc

What are you putting in your tea?
Crikey - holding a referendum doesn’t make a country far right.
Is Scotland a far right Country? How many referendums for independence have they had?
And you bang on about division & hate yet laugh & ridicule people who vote differently to you?
It’s hard to know what your motives really are - I’m not sure you know yourself tbh.

It wasn't just people on the right who voted for Brexit. Labour Leave was a campaign group, for instance.
Tony Blair first mooted a referendum but did not proceed with it. I think Cameron assumed (wrongly) that the result would be a firm vote to stay and was as shocked as many of us at the result. Even Farage seemed shocked and surprised (but elated).
So no, it wouldn't be right to blame the so-called far right.
Yes, it has left divisions and caused damage in so many ways.
Allsorts
Well next week the miracles begin. Lets see how.
I’m imagining Nigel Farage standing on the sea single handedly turning back boats when you say miracles. I’m very glad that Labour haven’t promised any.
Yes! I would love for that to happen.
Bring back cooperation, bring back community, bring back humanity.
I know I’m an idealist but I’m also an optimist - have been all my life. Won’t change at nearly 80😄

I caveated far right with peculiar that was the clue.
But I think that there is no doubt that it was driven almost entirely by the populist right and that is pretty extreme if you look at the UKs history, because as I said we don’t do extreme.
We do Centre right/left pretty well but get into a pickle moving from the centre.
We shouldn’t forget the lies told by the Leave campaign. All that money we’d been sending to Europe being ring fenced for our nhs being a prime example.
Some leave voters actually believed Leave would reduce / stop the number of immigrants from former colonies especially Pakistan and India. That was evident in my area, with ‘some people’ totally unaware of why we have a community from those countries.
What’s done is done. Here’s hoping we can re-build constructive relationships with our nearest neighbours - and educate people !

That's why we ended up with another Tory government in 2019 because of extremist Corbyn.
I went to the hustings before that election and the Labour candidate (who did not know our constituency which voted Remain, and knew nothing about this area) had brought hecklers with her from out of the area who continually disrupted, shouted, stamped their feet when any other candidate, particularly the Tory, tried to speak . The chairman did threaten them with eviction. But they were a badly-behaved rabble.
I spoke to her afterwards as well, she was probably further left than Corbyn.
We have a different Labour candidate this time so the result will be interesting. She does seem keen and impressive but I have read that she is already on the CC for a ward here and has never been seen since the day of the CC elections 🤔
CC ?
Sorry, County Council
That’s a salutary tale Callistemon. The Corbyn era caused rifts in many Labour constituencies, including my own. During the debates about which leadership candidate we should support, the `Corbyn activists were routing for Rebecca Long Bailey. Starmer won the vote by 3. I’d rousted myself to go along with mr I who had more stamina for the fight than I did. Our neighbour joined us. It’s pretty clear, we 3 ‘moderates’ influenced the result.
We have had Labour MPs here previously, it is not a predictably Tory constituency. I have a feeling Labour will win here this time, especially as the boundaries have changed.
NF on ITV just now being interviewed by Trevor Phillips.
I mean Sky News.
He is expecting 5,000 at a rally in Birmingham today. His main speaker is a Muslim. Trevor Phillips says he has known him 20 years and he says he is not a racist.
Trevor is asking some very tricky questions but NF is doing very well in answering them.
