Riots in Southport

I’m fuming about this, allegedly the English Defence League, attacking a local mosque, police attacked and vehicle set on fire. The police have reiterated ‘ the person under arrest was born in the UK’ and to ignore misinformation on social media.
Those poor residents grieving and in shock without the EDL basically stirring.

I see there is footage of people now having their front door kicked in and being arrested by the police.

Just when they thought they’d got away with it.

This needs to be advertised far and wide, it will hopefully make one or two less willing to take part in far right thuggery.

A lawyer said this morning that they will be jailed for years not months.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 05-Aug-24 09:23:34

They will also arresting those who have whilst not attending actual riots have in effect aided and abetted by their actions or rhetoric.

Watch our Farage, Tice, Braverman and the rest of their type.

MPs need to wind their necks in. They can no longer be free from responsibility when they make inflammatory statements in parliament or the media. They should be held to account

Totally agree WW.

I see Farage has put his racist two pennies in on X. I’m not repeating it because it doesn’t warrant my time.

We all know that a year means 6 months.

Yes I think that Farage needs to be brought to account, but to do so without giving him the oxygen of publicity, would be desirable.

No we don’t.

That is just something you have put out there.

Come off it! It has been the case for decades that even life rarely means life. It was discussed thoroughly on the news in recent weeks.

It was also discussed fully that Labour wants to release prisoners early. Surely you cannot have missed that!

Bit out of date but it explains what you seem never to have heard of.

Ordinary white people who read that the RAF doesn't want "useless white men", whose children are taught at school that they have "white privilege" (now a Labour policy) - try telling that to a working class white man in Hartlepool, whose son is likely to receive a poor education, come last in the priority for entry to university because of his skin colour and sex, and face prejudice when applying for a job with any national institution. All of this developed under a Conservative government. It wasn't ordinary white people who chose to balkanise England, but the London 'elite' who for the most part don’t listen to them

What on earth is this about?

Can you cite the source, it sounds unhinged...

Urmstongran Mon 05-Aug-24 10:04:39

My opinion. Not unhinged. How rude.

Unless our political masters get a grip on mass immigration this problem ain't going away. This is happening in Germany, France, Holland, Denmark , Italy and Sweden. It’s not a small number of "hard right" as seems to be the narrative from Starmer and the BBC, Guardian and Ch.4 news. It’s a pan European issue.

Iam64 Mon 05-Aug-24 11:10:53

It’s more the point that Labour has to release some prisoners early than they want to. The prisons are full. The CJsystem, the courts etc all stretched to breaking point.
We send far too many people to prison who pose little threat to society.
Prison should be for violent dangerous offenders. Like the ones rioting

I’m not sure if you’ve listened directly to what Starmer said Urmstongran, but he said quite clearly that the current riots were driven by the hard right, not that the hard right were the only ones rioting? He is correct if the initial media reports about the origin of the social media posts are correct, which until we hear any different presumably must be true.

I voted reform but no way on this earth would I support trouble makers like this, they want locking up.. I would say most people who lean towards the right are more fed up with all this illegal migration & worry for their own children/ grandchildren future- but they would not dream of attacking the police or anyone else

This saddens me. Did you not realise what they stood for?

Maybe not, several residents that I know of in our extra care housing facility put their cross in Reform as they didn't want to vote for Labour or Conservative. They had no idea what the Reform Party stands for. The mind boggles!

(A safe link from the BBC website)

Muslim leaders and worshippers shared food and conversation with some of the more vocal protestors who were rioting outside the mosque in Liverpool.

Just a photo to relieve some of the stark images we've been seeing.

But a drop in the ocean.

Then state that it’s your opinion only. You sounded like you were trying to speak for ‘ordinary white people’.

Not just Farage sticking his oar in…Musk and Katie Hopkins too.

They too are ‘weird’?

JaneJudge Mon 05-Aug-24 16:30:19

Musk doesn't even live here and he certainly isn't an ordinary white person. Have you heard he is donating his sperm to work colleagues wtaf

Don’t forget Tommy Robinson, directing manoeuvres from Cyprus.

Two tier policing been taken up by the right, stirring up trouble, just when the police could do with all the support they can get.

I hadn’t heard that but that pushes him firmly into the weird category. OMG just imagine a Katie H x Musk love child!

Dickens Mon 05-Aug-24 17:48:48

Musk is creating an Empire and he's the Emperor.

He's absolutely worshipped by a certain section of alpha males (or would-be alpha males). You cannot criticise him - I dared to once on a SM site and was 'reminded' (probably by said alpha males) that he was very, very, very rich and I most likely was nowhere near his league so, on that basis, should basically STFU.

When I asked for a logical reason why a very, very, very rich individual should not be held to account nor criticised, said males almost had an apoplectic fit.

His influence, Trump's, Farage, Tate - and all the others of their ilk are egocentrics or narcissists, or both. They thrive on having their egos stroked. They are all, to one degree or another, misogynists - yes, Farage, too. They really want women to get back into their box, kitchen or bedroom, whilst they hold court and attempt to rule the world, or their part of it, like Musk.

But all empires crumble ultimately, and Emperors get deposed. But no before they've done a lot of damage. Some of it irreversible.

Oh, and Vance - I'd forgotten about him. Watch out Trump, he's after your 'job'.

And it was Musk that allowed Tommy Robinson back onto Twitter wasn’t it?
