It's lurkers' week! Join in to win!

Good Morning! I'm a lurker. I live in Seattle, Washington. I love reading all of the threads and to see that the same problems and situations are the same no matter what country is your home. I am also enlightened by the viewpoints concerning American behavior from those who do not live in the United States. Though it's frequently accurate, I sometimes want to say "Ouch!"

Hi LadyK. How are things in Seattle as I heard it's one of the centres of coronavirus outbreaks in the US?

LadyKathleen, I sometimes think American Gransnetters (I’m not one) get a bit of a raw deal on here. Always on the Hallowe’en hating thread (“yet another bad import from America, etc”, which isn’t actually correct) and pedants’ corner, when it comes to phrases some people hate that you get blamed for. I hope it doesn’t put you off! It’s so interesting to get views from other countries.

I'm a lurker mainly due to time constraints (I work full time as well as being a carer for my DH). I do enjoy reading the topics that come up on Gransnet though.

Hi I'm a Lurker but read the posts most days. I have five grandchildren aged 11, 11, 8, 8, 6. Generally busy helping out, especially football, rugby and running sessions then cricket all summer. Good job we are both retired!!

I’m a lurker who has left a couple of comments. I have 4 grandchildren varying in age from 9 to 14. I love reading gransnet!

Lurker here also, love reading the posts but haven't posted anything I'm Nanny to my 9 year old grandson.

Long time lurker, but I've replied to a few posts.
I'm a mom of two girls and a boy due any day now!
We have pet cats and indoor bunnies who enjoy the garden when it's dry.
I enjoy the threads on gransnet better than those on mumsnet.

What I like best about Gransnet is feeling welcomed, chatting to people who don't cast judgement X it's lovely and as I'm disabled ,I don't go out much it's perfect xx

I lurk a lot but have posted sometimes. Always impressed by the common sense advise posters give, and the humour too!
My first single was ‘Light up the Fire’ by Parchment as I was a very devout, overly earnest Christian teenager, and only Christian music was allowed in our house. But secretly I yearned for a bit of David Essex!

Is there a particular reason why GN doesn't allow any reaction to a specific post without having to write a comment? At least then you know that someone has read your post.

I am a lurker,I read every day but have never posted a topic or a question.I just find it interesting reading others opinions whether I agree or not.Not sure what my topic would be but i'll have a think about it and come up with something.

Although I have posted a few times I think I would be a lurker also! But I read Gransnet daily. As I live in the States I love hearing all the news and opinions from my home country.

Hi everyone. I have been lurking for a while and have never plucked up the courage to post. I have, however, enjoyed reading the postings of others, especially during some recent lengthy hospital stays which have helped to keep me sane
I retired last year and live in Wild West Wales with my DH. We have 14 grandchildren, ages range from 3 to 25.
