They're old adverts.

Now I have Boris taking to me about coronavirus and lockdowns

I have started getting them today. Really annoying.

Maw, I hate them too.
But I doubt very much if there is anything that we can do about it.

They haven't done any research because they're old and out-of-date.

No, or would have deleted it

I haven't had them until today but now I have constant pop up videos in the bottom of my phone screen. I click them off but there's another one before I get to the bottom of the page.
Sorry but if this isn't sorted by tomorrow I shall be signing out and not returning.

Or offer us an ad free zone if we pay

The damn ads appear on my smartphone. Sometimes it is easy to click on the x to rid them, other times I have to click several times. The ads really spoil GN for me so I will use much less often now.

So am I the only person not getting any and if so why ?

No, the advert on the right (same subject as the video) does have a X but the large video in the middle of the posts doesn't, LilyGransnet. There's no way of getting rid of them. They're not adverts, they're Gransnet videos.
Like YouTube videos.

This is really putting me off Gransnet. I am getting fed up of having to press the X on every thread!

None on my iPad but I do have an adblocker.

On my Samsung phone the small pop-up videos are repeats of larger adverts which I don't mind scrolling down through. But the videos mask the GN messages and I can't make the videos disappear even by clicking on the x. I'm another one who won't be on Gransnet if this continues. Which I assume it will!
