Bra Straps!

A few of us had a discussion the other day about how our bra straps are always falling off our shoulders - sometimes it can be just minutes after we've put them on! Very annoying! Anybody have the same problem? Our shoulders haven't changed, so what causes it?

and if you bend down to pick something up it goes flying forwards and gets in a twist.

What's the answer? hmm

According to the tips on here my bras are too big and too small! And after having them fitted! And I’ve got the shoulder grooves!! There is obviously no hope for me!

Aww thanks ladies, it's nice to know I'm not alone! And Overthehills your comments made me laugh out loud! I too went for a bra fitting about 6 months ago and bought a couple that were really comfortable. Perhaps I've changed shape since then (my weight does fluctuate with the seasons). Crossover back sounds the way to go for everyday wear. I wear the comfort bras at home but I'm slightly too 'booby' to wear them for work/going out, and need more support. Your helpful comments about style (ie straps being too far apart) will make me look at those factors when I buy my next bra. Thanks all for your support - you're like a good bra!

I have this problem with bras and trousers . I think my problem is large saggy boobs and a flat arse ?

Ahhh, Baubles, I floowed your link to the racer bras, and well, my knee caps would have fitted nicely into the bra cups. How tiny were they. Oh to have tiny boobs.

That's a good idea, Lewie. Thanks.

I find these help solve the problem www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Pcs-Soft-Silicone-Bra-Strap-Cushions-Pain-Relief-Non-slip-Holder-Shoulder-Pads/253312873946?hash=item3afa9fb5da:m:mIuSmGA5kBpO_yh4PvZMYbg

My left strap falls down as left leg slightly shorter than right. Spend a lot of time hitching .

Thanks Brea, those look promising. My left shoulder had surgery 12 years ago and last year I fractured it, so it slopes a bit more than the right shoulder, though that's a bit slippery too.

I tightened the elastic in my straps a couple of evenings ago after reading this thread. Nothing has slipped since!

But I do need new bras, as the elastic is going all round. Perhaps we don't buy them enough, and perhaps we ought to wash them by hand really. (I wash them in the machine, albeit on a very gentle cycle)

Whenever I buy a new top I measure a length of hem binding (not bias binding) slightly longer than the shoulder seam. One end is stitched to the shoulder/sleeve seam and on the other end is a press stud. On the neck seam is the other half of the press stud. The length of tape runs along the shoulder seam under the bra/camisole straps and press studs to the neck seam. If the garment is raglan, then the tape is twice the length of the shoulder seam and is not fixed to the top of the sleeve seam but loops back to the neck edge. So no strap slipping. smile

Grandmama what a brilliant idea! I have frequently cut off the hanger loops that many tops come with. From this very minute, the next time I buy one like this, I will try your way.
