After twelve weeks of no haircuts, beauty treatment, nails, eyelashes and eyebrow treatments what are we all going to look like. Men wont be able to get to the barbers for hair and beard trims either!!!!

Think of the rise in sales of lady shavers - Argos will be selling out, or the share value of Immac will go up and stockpiling of the stuff , along with those venus shavers!

By sheer good fortune, when the country was teetering in to this situation, I had a hair appointment already arranged, so am ok for about a month. After that - oh dear. My hopeless uncontrollable hair will have to be scraped back and sudbdued with spray.
I'm sure none of us will look as bad as we fear, and just think how lovely it will be to get a professional 'do' again when this is over.

I’ve just slapped some face on. As after four days with out. I couldn’t stand the sight of my pasty face.
Tomorrow I shall rid myself of my tashe. Dye my eye brows and cut my hair. Luckily I bagged a couple of hair dyes to keep my roots at bay. I hate looking like a badgers arse ?

I took the risk of a hair cut on the cusp of social distancing rules coming in. I was overdue for covering some of the grey with some lowlights, and instead have put on an all over colour. Looks daft with a sudden change but the idea was to look younger than 70, which I am actually. I will soon have a badger stripe though

Does it really matter what we look like as long as we are alive I for one will look like a skunk as my grey is already showing through

Nannan2 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:18:42

We can all do our own manicures/pedicures if we can reach?could even try hack a bit off hair if we dont go too wild! One of my sons always does his own with a hair trimmer, but youngest wont let him near his,and its already looking like cliff richard quiffgrin

I've gone longer than 12 weeks without having my hair cut and sometimes done it myself. I will just tie it up if it gets too long! Mind if I wanted to I could chop it all off it would have 12 weeks to recover!!!

Nannan2 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:23:26

I think when we're all allowed 'out' again the barbers&hairdressers& beauty parlours will be doing a LOT of business, bless them! Oh,and the pubs,as folk will want to celebrate! ( hope it all doesnt start up the virus again.hmmsad

Now is the perfect time to let your hair grow out and grow grey! I did this about 18 months ago and so glad I did. It is a lovely silver colour and I don't have all that endless home dyeing - I couldn't afford to go to a hairdresser to get it done. If you do it, you won't regret it!

Nannan2 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:25:32

Id just asked my daughter to help me do my hair colour but then didnt dare go out, then we were ordered not to,so never got it done sad

Nannan2 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:27:29

Yes i would regret it,im 56 and our family have 'younger' looking faces,so it wouldnt 'sit right' with rest of mehmm

Pudding123 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:30:10

Maw B how lovely to put a face to a name .,you look serene.I put make-up on most days just to cover up my age spots a bit of lipstick and mascara just so I don't scare myself to much!

Thecatshatontgemat Wed 25-Mar-20 11:32:12

Don't wear make up, do pluck my eyebrows, so no probs in those areas. What l hate is grey roots, so off to Boots this afternoon to see if l can score some boxes of hair dye, or l really WILL look like an old fart.

Theoddbird Wed 25-Mar-20 11:32:23

I actually prefer longer hair on men. Just give them a bobble to tie it back....simple. I will use little claw clips to hold hair in place.

Pollyj Wed 25-Mar-20 11:36:17

I don’t have any of those treatments except a haircut. Maybe everyone will look aural again!

Cambia Wed 25-Mar-20 11:37:55

Maw you look like an advert for forever fabulous!

Longdistancegrnny Wed 25-Mar-20 11:38:12

Hopefully will have more time to do self manicure and pedicure so maybe toe and finger nails will be better than before! Don't have colour on my hair and had it cut a couple of weeks ago so that should be ok for a while. Won't let standards slip re make up/face care - usual make up on every day so far, don't want to frighten DH or kids/grandkids on Skype! Mind you his hair - what's left of it - will be pretty long after a few months - rock star pony tail coming up? What a shame all those nice 'going out' clothes are staying hanging in the wardrobe, jeans and shirts/jumpers all I need to wear for now!

polnan Wed 25-Mar-20 11:45:39

you are a funny lot

I didn`t shower yesterday, then thought of you here. thought I better shower today.. the sum total of my beauty treatement

3nanny6 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:46:34

No problem for me, I have long hair (past shoulder length)always had it the same and just because I am older see no reason why I have to cut it all. It is not grey but some hair in front a bit white but still put the blonde lightener on and it looks good. I always get younger women saying your hair is lovely where do you have it done.
I do a face mask at home every week and daily clean and moisturise. No false eyelashes only foundation, mascara and lipstick.
Never used false nails do not like them and daughter done me a pedicure two weeks ago.
Beauty routine done and I am good to go.

Scottiebear Wed 25-Mar-20 11:49:05

I trust DH with my life. But shortly I'm going to have to decide if I can trust him with scissors and my hair!

MarciaB Wed 25-Mar-20 11:49:36

I think I may have considerably greyer hair and I will probably be sitting on it, it grows so quickly. But we will all be so glad to get out and about nobody will give a jot!

Hetty58 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:49:57

The important thing is - we'll still be alive - a bit ugly, perhaps, but who cares?

The silver lining is that now's an ideal time to experiment with new looks. I've dyed my hair silver and I'm rocking the PJ casual look atm!

Oh, and I've saved loads of time, too, not bothering!

inishowen Wed 25-Mar-20 11:56:08

My husband just said this morning he looked like the wild man of Borneo! He needs a haircut, as do I. My hair is thin and straggly anyway so I think I'll look awful quite soon. Too old for a pony tail! I might buy a hair colour if I have to go out for food at Tescos.

Carol54 Wed 25-Mar-20 11:59:34

I've been wanting to try no shampoo for ages but haven't been able to go out without washing it. So I'm hoping it will settle down just in time for the release
