After twelve weeks of no haircuts, beauty treatment, nails, eyelashes and eyebrow treatments what are we all going to look like. Men wont be able to get to the barbers for hair and beard trims either!!!!

Maw B no i am not young, 68 this year, i still like to have hair trimmed every 5 weeks as i have a fringe which seems to grow very fast!!! I do like to go to the chiropodist as well as i can't cut my own nails on the right hand side lol. I was actually thinking of my daughter, grand daughter and daughters in law and nieces who all use nail bars and have things done to their eyelashes and eyebrows. smile My three sons all have their hair trimed every 4-5 weeks too as they have to look smart for their jobs. It will be interesting to see how they look as nature intended. smile

I've stockpiled enough make-up over the years so the slap will still be going on - even if I'm just watching TV. As for hair, scissors are sharpened ready should I need them and DH has been issued with instructions and styling techniques. Who knows, a new me might emerge.

Grammajules Wed 25-Mar-20 12:07:48

Feeling hirsute already?

SusieFlo Wed 25-Mar-20 12:08:22

Me too! Think it will drive me potty though when it gets to a certain length. hmm

I must be one of the luckiest people around, I am going to my hairdresser to have a cut, she is on her own in the salon so no danger,I dont live in the UK and there arent a lot of restrictions YET, so I thought I must get my hair cut as soon as possible before they close down.Over 70,s should not mix with others but there isnt a curfew, most people are out and keeping their distances, a lot of people work from home, schools are open as usual, but I think Boris has done the right thing to stop the spreading of the virus and help the NHS. I wonder when our PM will waken up!
Good luck ladies you will all cope and maybe have new hairstyles.

I'm saving a lot on contact lenses (about £1.25 a day) as I've been wearing glasses each day instead as am not going out. My hair was due for a cut and colour but it'll just have to wait. I have a whizzy Dyson hairdryer that is brilliant and some ghd straighteners to keep in in control. Anxiety is making me lose weight - doubt that'll last when (if) this is actually over.

pamdixon Wed 25-Mar-20 12:26:37

I always do the colour on my hair myself (the stuff I use is very easy to put on).....but if I'm not out and about do I care what I look like. Am I brave enough to see what I'd look like if I was completely grey.....................! Also, all my family have very thick hair (me included)...am going to be looking like the wild woman from Borneo very shortly. Don't know if I'd be brave enough to cut it myself. Suggested to oldest grandson, who is 13, that he let his mum cut it for him - he thought that was the funniest thing anyone had every suggested!

Rufus2 Wed 25-Mar-20 12:37:00

Men can presumably still shave
Neanderthal?
Maw Thank you. Now look what you've done. Every one's going to raid their family albums!
Trooper 7133 and NotAGran55 are already off and running! shock
Btw You've photo-shopped the date off yours! grin

CrazyGrandma2 Wed 25-Mar-20 12:37:14

I guess my hair will get much longer, but that will just make it easier to tie up, so not an issue for me.

timetogo2016 Wed 25-Mar-20 12:40:14

I look like one of the a hair bear bunch.
Hedge through backwards springs to mind.

rowanflower0 Wed 25-Mar-20 12:44:13

I went to the hairdressers in the 13th, so wont be too bad, except grown-out roots - other half needs a hair cut NOW!
Sent for hair-cutting scissors and hair clippers from ebay, and used to cut sons' hair, but only have use of right hand now, so could be interesting!

Tillybelle Wed 25-Mar-20 12:44:56

Oh how funny! I hadn't thought of this! One of the reasons my hair is long is due to my not been able to get out before all this Virus-World enclosed us! Shall we recognise each other?

Has anyone become lazy about how they dress? I cannot dress until I have showered - it's just a 'thing' I have, which means I need to be steady enough to take a shower and have my pain reasonably under control. This can take till after 11 am. It has been like this for a few years though. I felt terrible seeing the Postman in my dressing gown at first but now I am attuned to it!

Maw you look great! Remind me of one of my best friends from primary school days. I love hair your colour and length. Mine's very straight and thin, has gone white in one big streak which I like and pale grey in others but still brownish round the back. If I have it short it just lies very flat against my head and I look like my dear old dad!

Calender37 Wed 25-Mar-20 12:45:14

Within a short time I know shall look like Worzel Gummidge’s Grandmother - pity I got rid of the hedge cutter it could have come in useful!!!!

BusterTank Wed 25-Mar-20 12:45:37

I shall tie my hair up and go grey naturally .

grannybuy Wed 25-Mar-20 12:50:38

We can all wear turbans.

Almaz65 Wed 25-Mar-20 12:52:02

I will do what I can myself, cut my fringe, and nails, luckily I don't have much facial or leg hair but no one will see me anyway, I will do my make up before I video call my kids. Got to resist the temptation to be slobbish! Lol

Tillybelle Wed 25-Mar-20 12:53:54

Not quite my most recent. I was out and about a bit more then.

SparklyGrandma Wed 25-Mar-20 12:54:56

I had a sharp shorter bob than usual 10 days ago, just in case we went into lock down.

Soon people will be showing their real hair colour too, poor things! I went grey purposefully last year.

But we will all be alive, thank God.

Oldbutstilluseful Wed 25-Mar-20 12:56:36

My hair will look proper messy, but at least it still only grows on the top of my head! Watching an interview this morning with a very pleasant young man who is trapped abroad, he kept scratching at his beard. Perhaps, if men have razors or shavers, they should be encouraged to go clean shaven, at least for now?

Petalpop Wed 25-Mar-20 12:56:40

I have always coloured my own hair through the years from henna red to these days pale blond. Got a supply in so not worried. My hair is shoulder length which is tied back on a bad hair day so no worries if it gets too long and I start looking like witchy poo I can just tie it back. I do my own nails and pluck my own hairy bits. I must keep up appearances otherwise I might scare the GC when we Facetime.

CraftyGranny Wed 25-Mar-20 13:01:31

Tillybelle why was the postman wearing your dressing gown? smile

Tillybelle Wed 25-Mar-20 13:03:39

Just a few of my grandchildren. A couple of years ago.

grandtanteJE65 Wed 25-Mar-20 13:04:30

I never go to the hairdresser's so I shall look as I always do.
The hairs on my chin are removed by me once a week, and DH has plenty of razor blades and can cut his own hair if necessary.

I have plenty of razor blades too, so I shall continue to shave my legs, and we have at least two spare tubes of toothpaste, so I imagine we will still be reasonable soigné after this,

If I could get the wash-house drain unblocked (progress is being made there, but slowly) I could do the washing without flooding the floor, but as it is tiles on cement it can take a little water coming back up the drain.

Tillybelle Wed 25-Mar-20 13:05:45

CraftyGranny. Ohhhh, you've noticed! We got caught and were in a hurry and ..... well .... you must have done the same somewhen. shock blush

Coconut Wed 25-Mar-20 13:06:55

DD said we will all look like hippies ?
