It isn't something I usually comment on but

Leslie Joseph is 71 in two weeks time!!!!!!!

Alima, thank you I believe sanity is setting in again in regard to "Glitter" Balls ....

That gross tattoo on Anastacia's back is such a turn-off. On top of an elegant gown it is completely incongruous. Surely the costume department could have had the wit to cover it up! I do hope we lose her next week.

Found last night very entertaining - claudia, ore, louise, will all excellent. Don't watch 'enders so not bothered about tameka. Not happy about the 'racizt' rumblings!

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 09-Oct-16 23:51:12

Tameka was definitely making a point about being injured. She mentioned been hurt on ITT, but nothing was said on Saturday night. I really liked her, but a lot of people didn't think she was very funny and a bit of an attention seeker. I thought she'd have the EE vote. It was unfortunate for both Tameka and Laura because being mid table this early in the series is a dangerous place to be. Laura would lose out on a lot of Irish votes too.

I think Claudia is the stand out female, but we're spoilt for choice when it comes to the men! I know Danny has previous, but what a dancer! I think Ore is going to give him a run for his money though. wink

I like Danny but think it unfair that the likes of Ed Balls and even Ore with no previous dance experience are up against Danny who has had 4 years in the West End. I do hope that Ore gives him a run for his money.

Claudia is a very good dancer but better at dances such as the Charleston where she can do backward flips, showing how athletic she is rather than the more formal dances such as ballroom. The height difference between herself and her partner makes it difficult.

Jalima Mon 10-Oct-16 10:34:49

What is the EE vote?
(Shoe widths?

I agree Charleygirl it doesn't seem fair and I think it should be taken into account.
Ed is certainly giving it his all and is entertaining, and I like Ore

Jane10 Mon 10-Oct-16 10:49:47

East Enders!

Jalima Mon 10-Oct-16 10:51:12

Oh, is that where she is from!

#clueless grin

Jalima Mon 10-Oct-16 10:53:21

To be fair to Tameka, I didn't recognise most of the others either
Lesley, Ed, Claudia, Will - and Anastasia
And then I realised where I had seen Ore before when they said he was a sports presenter

gulligranny Mon 10-Oct-16 16:35:57

Win or lose, I love Will, he's such a sweetie!

LullyDully Mon 10-Oct-16 17:33:53

More used to be on News round when he was younger. A good start for any tv career.

LullyDully Mon 10-Oct-16 17:38:33

Will Young has been one of my favourites since he was on Pop Idol. He has a voice you can recognise when you hear it, rather than just a generic , good voice. I found it amusing that he tried to speak to Len as he did to Simon Cowell all those years ago and said it had worked then so he was trying it again.

merlotgran Mon 10-Oct-16 19:36:40

I loved Will Young in, Mrs. Henderson Presents. He's a really good actor.

petra Tue 11-Oct-16 18:16:49

Now the BBC is being accused of racism because the first two people voted off happen to be black. People just can't help finding racism where non exists.

NotTooOld Tue 11-Oct-16 18:26:41

I too am VERY sceptical of the telephone votes. The programme makers prime aim is to make good telly, so you can bet yer bottom dollar there is some fixing going on if necessary. Mind you, I always said there was something dodgy about the moon landing.....and then there was Diana......grin

Pittcity Tue 11-Oct-16 19:14:55

Will Young has quit due to unspecified personal reasons. Do you think Len upset him?

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 11-Oct-16 19:22:17

The one thing I have confidence in is the voting. After the BBC voting scandals in 2007, everything changed and was tightened up. The other big deal about the voting though, is the short amount of time we have. Since they started recording the Sunday show straight after the Saturday show, it means there's hardly any time to vote. An auditor has to sign off the voting, so the time constraints are tight.

But there's plenty of other ways to put a couple at a disadvantage. Choice of dance and music can be big killers, especially now the couples are told what they're doing by the producers. For at least the first 5 or 6 series it was the pros choosing the music and in the first 3 or 4 weeks couples would dance one of two dances each week, and alternate Ballroom and Latin. This meant a more level playing field, as opposed to now where couples can be dancing harder dances early on in the series.

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 19:26:37

Oh No!! (Will Young)

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 11-Oct-16 19:29:49

That's a shame. What a shocker. sad

Lona Tue 11-Oct-16 19:50:24

Oh no!! He was my favourite! ??

Jane10 Tue 11-Oct-16 19:53:16

Oh Will!

Ana Tue 11-Oct-16 19:59:11

Well, I do hope it's not because of his difference of opinion with Len...

Ana Tue 11-Oct-16 19:59:50

He'll have gone down in my estimation if it turns out it was.

DaphneBroon Tue 11-Oct-16 20:01:17

That is sad, anybody know any more about why?

merlotgran Tue 11-Oct-16 20:02:26

If so, Len should sign up as a Gransnet moderator when he leaves Strictly. He'll be right at home.
