Is anyone following the new series?

I watched on catch up last night and after only one episode Sheila Ferguson (one of the 3 degrees) is coming across as a right bossy boots and likes her own way. I am rather warming to Rusty Lee (who's laugh I used to find very irritating) and Amanda Barrie who seems to be quite down to earth. Blimey I was so disappointed to see how old Paul Nicolas looked, considering he was a bit of a heart throb back in the day. I am looking forward to seeing how this series goes.

Oh Yes! roses I was also hoping that one of them (Amanda?) would take the darling little puppy home. I feel so sad to think of him waiting outside the gate for someone to feed him and they have all gone home sad

I have just caught up with the last one in the series and really enjoyed it.
Overall my opinions didn't change very much. I still disliked Sheila Ferguson and Michael Jackson Miriam Stoppard. Warmed to Dennis Taylor who seemed like a nice man. Paul Nicolas and he seemed to get on like a house in fire. I also liked Rusty Lee Didn't like Lionel Blair very much.

I mentioned the Gransnet on Tour to DH last night and told him that I would be away for around a month and so would have to find a temp for work. He didn't bat an eyelid. So looks like it's on for me ladies. Now who to approach for sponsorship? hmm Tenna Lady? Yorkshire Tea? Marks and Spencer? Mr Kipling?

Or "Elastic-Stockings-Are-Us" might be interested at sponsoring us! grin

How did I miss this thread?!

Am I too late to join one of the GN groups (preferably on Ste Marie but Midsomer will do).
My choice of Welsh companion would be Greg Davies (well, Welsh ancestry) - interesting and funny!

I missed some of the series but thought the last episode was very much about Sheila, Sheila, Sheila. Bill does seem rather odd and probably very difficult to live with but basically a nice man when he is not feeling ill. Lionel seems OK in small doses and Denis and Paul can come along too, as well as Rusty. Amanda can quietly sit in the corner if she likes.

Not India, thank you, although the hotel owner seemed a lovely person and quietly amused by them all.

Have to agree that, whilst this series was initially engaging, it began to bore me with the incessant droning on of Sheila Ferguson. I couldn't fathom out why she was considering moving from Majorca, to India, so that she could be closer to one of her daughters who lived in Dubai but would be further away from her other daughter in England. confused As for "her first date", that just made me cringe.

I agree Chewy the date was so set up for the cameras.I found her needing affirmation for everything she did, and thought all the looking at an apartment there was just for show, it would be a far cry from living in a lovely old house and being waited on hand and foot, with a group of friendly celebs. Her daughter seemed nice and natural though.

I would like a few handmade tunics.smile

I m glad it's over, far too staged for me I think they should have stopped at one serious
Isn't it Dennis Taylor star bird

He is Blue, he seems to be a very nice, happy kind of person. I liked Paul Nicholas too. Lionel Blair irritated me for similar reasons to Sheila Ferguson.

I found Bill Oddie really endearing - he seems to live in his own little world and as long as there are birds and animals he is happy. Quite surprised, however, when he joined in with that strange game that he had been taken to.
I found the most annoying one to be Miriam Stoppard - she seemed to be acting all the time and her appearance was quite startling. But I liked her hair and couldn't work out if it was a wig? If it was it was a brilliant one.

I found Bill Oddie..... Well quite Oddie DanniRae I'm not sure he brought anything to the group at all. I really liked the housekeeper lady she seemed a lovely person.
