For my late father, it was The Archers theme music, which he referred to as the “dum- de-dums “
At the first notes he would do a Usain Bolt across the room to turn the radio off.
For me, I’m afraid it is The Listening Project.
Intrusive? Boring? I don’t know, I just can’t stand it.
(Just a Minute comes a close second!)

Countryfile

Nick Robinson, increasingly Martha Cearney, Anna Soubry, although not about as much as she used to be, and Shami Shakrabati, (really can't be bothered to check on the spelling of her name), arch hypocrite.

Sports pundits have me reaching for the mute button. Ex footballers waffling on about how the game should be played set my teeth on edge. An as for golf commentators......grrr.

GrauntyHelen Thu 27-Jun-19 17:07:50

and another for Elaine's laugh it drives me potty

Frannygranny Thu 27-Jun-19 17:07:54

Celine Dion. She shouts instead of sings. Why she has so many fans is beyond me. Sorry if anyone really likes her.

Grannyrebel27 Thu 27-Jun-19 17:17:35

Jeremy Kyle! So glad he's been shown the door!

AlisonKF Thu 27-Jun-19 17:20:34

The Archers for me as well after listening for several decades. Their soap opera anti s are pretty boring. I only listen to BBC radio four so , in the past, Margaret Thatcher and now, Boris Johnson.

SparklyGrandma Thu 27-Jun-19 17:25:13

The Shipping Forecast, grrrrr.

Too many nights not being able to sleep, listening to it unwillingly ?

Blinko Thu 27-Jun-19 17:28:37

Oh yes, that reminds me, Claudia Winkelman and her fringe. How can she possibly be the highest paid female presenter? Based on what??

Sara65 Thu 27-Jun-19 17:29:23

Someone reminded me, Diane Abbot!
I think she’s only invited on to programs for a laugh, surely no one could take her seriously

Sara65 Thu 27-Jun-19 17:32:32

We had to stop listening to Radio 2 at work, because one of our employees couldn’t bear being in the same room as Steve Wright!

SparklyGrandma Thu 27-Jun-19 17:35:28

Oo, I agree Countryfile too, * optomist*.. that bit where they pretend they have rebuilt half a mile of ancient stone wall.....as if....

NellieJ Thu 27-Jun-19 17:38:56

NellieJ Thu 27-Jun-19 17:39:33

Sara65 Thu 27-Jun-19 18:12:12

Oh yes, Amanda Holden, Awful woman!

narrowboatnan Thu 27-Jun-19 18:40:21

There’s a hymn set to the East Enders theme tune? Blimey! Whatever next?

narrowboatnan Thu 27-Jun-19 18:44:32

Match of the Day.
Any and all of the soaps
Any and all reality TV shows
Piers Morgan
There are more but I must think of my blood pressure
Oh - Tim and Pru, lovely though they are, are groan worthy as they tell us that narrow boating is a contact sport. It isn’t!

Happysexagenarian Thu 27-Jun-19 18:55:19

Janet Street-Porter's voice, can't stand it!
Sarah Millican likewise.
Football, in fact most sports programs except Wimbledon.
Dads Army.
Formula One racing.
Top Gear
Party political broadcasts
Violent films or TV series
And too many adverts to mention.

Callistemon Thu 27-Jun-19 19:22:36

Match of the Day
Yes, and Gary Lineker - why does he shout, or is there something wrong with the sound on MOTD?
Reach for the off button.

georgia101 Thu 27-Jun-19 19:27:31

Eastenders theme tune for me too. It's mournful and depressing, but so is the programme so I suppose it's fitting.

instagran Thu 27-Jun-19 19:31:24

So chuffed to find I'm not the only one to abhor the lout Clarkson!

Funnygran Thu 27-Jun-19 19:32:17

Anything with Greg Wallace in it!

Tillybelle Thu 27-Jun-19 19:34:23

The One Show "music". It's not music.

Tillybelle Thu 27-Jun-19 19:35:51

instagran. (good name)

Oh no! He's utterly vile! I'm completely with you.
