Started this thread as a diversion from all the political ones. Only watched the first half hour as I wasn’t that bothered who was partnered with who really. Find the launch show a bit drawn out TBH. Realised I only knew 5 of the 15 contestants, but that will change as the weeks go on. Liked Tess’s gown, thought Claudia’s outfit looked similar to the PVC macs we wore in the early 70’s.
I really like Anton's partner Emma. I hope they do well and it's good to see him with someone who can actually dance. Loved their viennese waltz last night.
Don't worry I won't leak it. I do find it pretty cynical of the BBC to make such a meal of it and to pretend Sunday's show is live. I suppose it's something about the production that has turned me off this show. Too much silly nonsense about people I really cant care about and all the BBC hyping up of audiences.
I also know who was in the dance-off. I do think they should cut out a lot of the nonsense and return to giving us the result the same evening.
At least this year nobody has been dancing on the west end stage for the last 12 years. I still do not know who more than half of them are but that will change as the weeks go by. I am so pleased that for once Anton was not lumbered with the likes of Aneka Rice.
I agree that a lot of it is silly, but the professional dancers are amazing, part of my problem is that I’m so glued to the professionals, that I forget to watch the celebrities , last night, Karen, johannes (not certain about spelling)
What I especially like, is that two of my grandchildren love it so much, when they stay here, I let them vote, and we often play Strictly Come Dancing, which is hilarious.
I really like Michelle Visage. I've never heard of her before but she certainly works hard to get the routines right. The Nana thing was painful + embarrassing. What had it got to do with the dancing. I'm pleased Saffron loves her grandmother but I don't need to know about it.
Until last night, I thought David James was firmly nailed on as the next evictee, with Mike in the dance-off. Their improvement was so spectacular that now it's anyone's guess - unless you are one of those who have already found out. I wouldn't want to know; I rather like the element of suspense.
anno I so agree with you on both counts. I think Mike may stay in a few extra weeks because of his friends on the BBC. Heaven knows who will be the overall winner- there are a few candidates. The standard, in my opinion, is higher than usual this year.
Re Kevin- it is my considered opinion, based on absolutely nothing that Kevin is the next Anton. Anton is being allowed his glory before being moved. Maybe to the next available space on the judges panel?
My DH thinks that one of the presenters should be eliminated next!
It was a real surprise wasn’t it? I didn’t want either of them to go if I’m honest and Diane was literally sobbing at the end. Even though he’s improved a bit I think David should have gone next .
I've been pleasantly surprised by Motsi. I hated the overlong, boring meeting their partner show but it's all settled and going nicely with the exception of the totally irritating Tess and Claudia. I could willingly wring their necks. My favs are the CBBC lad and Johannes and his partner. I think they'll do well. Mike Bushell is so annoying, like an eager to please puppy who can't shut up and sit still. Anton...well, he looked like Bruce Welch, one time guitarist in The Shadows. I laughed out loud at Craig mistaking Anton's own teeth for falsies and the judges were 'in bulk', as they say in Liverpool. I def don't like Kelvin 'the hipster'. That grin gets on my nerves. What are truly AM-A-ZING darlings, are the sets, the costumes, the singers, the make-up, the lighting effects and the pro routines. Worth staying in for and a wonderful light relief after all the c* going on in the world.
