Please tell me where are Gemma's quads are they hibernating in the bedroom surely they must be old enough for school by now ?

Aveline Sat 11-Jun-22 09:48:36

Those quads will be 'upstairs washing their hands' like all Corrie children for their first 15 years.
Certainly no celebration until exams safely passed in my day

lemsip Fri 17-Jun-22 20:04:22

think they've been looking at gn, Kevin's had a wash and brush up and shave

Calendargirl Fri 17-Jun-22 20:11:43

Wow, Jack actually seemed to be doing a bit of acting for a change!

Think he has also been reading GN, as it’s been commented on in the past he is rather ‘wooden’.

Kate1949 Fri 17-Jun-22 20:32:49

I was just thinking the same Calendargirl.

Calendargirl Fri 17-Jun-22 20:58:32

Oh my goodness!

A blast from the past!

Wendy Crozier?

vegansrock Fri 17-Jun-22 21:08:30

Wasn’t Mr Papadopolus a manager in a launderette or in the factory or summat?

vegansrock Fri 17-Jun-22 21:12:18

Wendy Crozier worked on the paper with Ken and didn’t they have a fling?

pinkprincess Fri 17-Jun-22 21:24:16

With a bit of luck Summer's biological mother, whoever she is, will suddenly turn up and take Summer to live happily ever after with her and far away from Corrie.

NotTooOld Fri 17-Jun-22 21:39:06

Doodledog

Yes, Nina's dad was Malcolm from the 70s sitcom Watching, and Roy's long-lost brother (half brother?).

They do all have complicated lives?

Well, I never realised it was Malcolm from Watching but I can see now that it was. When you get to a certain age there are no new actors, just recycled ones!

lemsip Fri 17-Jun-22 21:47:50

the actress who plays 'summer' is 25yr old Harriet Bibby........who has just landed a stage role so will be having a break from corrie

HurdyGurdy Fri 17-Jun-22 22:33:00

Well well well. Wendy "flaming" Crozier! I am so pleased that I stay away from spoilers as much as possible, as that revelation tonight would not have anything like the impact it did, had I known in was coming.

I wonder if she and Ken will rekindle their love affair. Ad oh my goodness, I can't wait to see Tracey's reaction when she runs into her. That could be explosive - as I recall, Tracey wasn't Wendy's biggest fan, was she?

We did laugh at the number of times Kevin's facial hair appeared and disappeared throughout tonight's episode though grin

BlueBelle Fri 17-Jun-22 22:43:29

I can’t believe Summers actress is 25

Calendargirl Sat 18-Jun-22 06:42:13

vegansrock

Yes, I seem to recall Emily Bishop mentioning ‘Mr Papadopolus’ in reverential tones in the long distant past. Surely not going back to ‘Gamma Garments’ and Leonard Swindley’s time?

Or am I getting totally mixed up?

lemsip Sat 18-Jun-22 07:42:47

just to confirm;
Harriet Bibby is set to take on a new role away from Coronation Street this summer. Fans of the ITV soap will best know the actress for playing Summer Spellman. The 25-year-old took over the role of the teen back in 2020.

BlueBelle Sat 18-Jun-22 07:56:47

I ll be glad to see the back of summer she kinda grates on me
I wasn’t doubting you lemsip just amazed at how juvenile she looks

Calendargirl Sat 18-Jun-22 08:04:41

Don’t think Summer’s new stage play will take her away from Corrie for very long.

lemsip Sat 18-Jun-22 08:26:52

they all seem to have a couple of months off each year to do other things! like when they are sent to 'prison' or gone to stay with a relative ....

Calendargirl Mon 20-Jun-22 20:59:41

Max storyline a bit similar to Asha and Corey.

Doodledog Mon 20-Jun-22 21:42:26

The story of a young person being persuaded to send naked photos to a similar-aged but underage one often crops up in dramas. It was a storyline in Scott and Bailey too.

Of course it is a serious offence for an adult to send pornographic pics to underage kids, but I'd like to think that when all concerned are friends of a very similar age that the police and CPS would be sensible about it and decide not to pursue the matter. It would be tragic to have a child labelled a sex offender for something like this.

Aveline Mon 20-Jun-22 21:53:02

Max is a good actor.

vegansrock Tue 21-Jun-22 04:19:37

Yes they’ve already done that storyline, but theres a bit of a twist in this one as it involves blackmail and Max being set up by his so called “friends”. The Tim and Sally bedroom saga limps on - why they can’t just say “therapist” and have to say “sex therapist” in hushed tones every time beats me. Sally’s suggestion that they take up golf made me laugh. I also laughed at Maureen Lipman last night- she is so funny..

Calendargirl Tue 21-Jun-22 06:46:08

The Tim and Sally sex, or lack of it, saga, is still awful. They are lucky to have good old Doctor Gaddas patiently racking her brains to find a solution when most people struggle to get a GP appointment for many other complaints.

Tim’s acting leaves a bit to be desired, just the same blank expression the whole time.

I thought Max must be meeting a different girl. I didn’t realise it was the one who is always with those other lads, thought she was part of the scam.

Franbern Tue 21-Jun-22 08:44:51

Some of the best acting in Corrie has come from this young actor (Max). Does not matter that this story is a sort of repeat of one previously. Young people are still being caught up in sending intimate photos of themselves over their phones, etc. so a reminder about the dangers can only do good.

Blackmail is a very serious crime, do hope the writers are going to get the police involved which is the correct thing to do even in the circumstances of the victim already being bound over.

I am finding the whole story line of Abi and Alfie increasingly difficult to come to terms with. Whereas, I know that there are specialist foster homes for young Mums and Babies, in which they are supported in learning how to be a Mum, Abi hardly falls into this category. Would have thought that if the courts did permit her to have Alfie (which taking into account her past and even recent behavior -including kidnapping attempt, is more than unlikely) it would have been social worker regularly checked within her own home. Find it difficult for any court to permit her even to have time alone with Alfie considering her long history of drug abuse, child neglect, what happened at Alfie's birth, etc. etc. etc. But it appears as she has 'morphed' into a lovely, caring, parent.

Audrey is an alcoholic - wonder where this story line is going.

Doodledog Tue 21-Jun-22 09:28:24

I hope it gets sorted out for Max soon.

There have been hints at Audrey's alcoholism for a long time. A few years ago, both she and Gail were knocking it back a bit, and decided to do dry January or similar, but didn't manage it. I thought the scriptwriters would run with it then, but they didn't.
