Not watched it - but may do at some point when nothing better to do.
I can't get it out of my head that Meghan was an actress - so find it very hard to judge if she is genuine or not.
I also think that this was a couple who had issues with the media and since they have made a new life abroad everything they do is the opposite - they seem to court the media. Trying to make sure that they won't be forgotten??

Actors are human beings, they bleed if you cut them, they have the same emotions as we do.

That's true but the cynical side of me says - is Meghan acting?

We only see what the media allows us to see - which as we know can be prejudicial. So until I can sit and have a coffee and a chat with the Royal family and then Meghan and Harry in turn to form an opinion. I'll probably never know the whole story!!

Lankydolly As said before, social media is the wild west and anything can happen when there are no moderators keeping watch. Some people will make wild and aggressive responses and even death threats just because they are nasty people. It happens to everyone famous on social media. H&M are no exception.

Most other people are just upset because of the disloyalty to the Queen and her family and all the lies and unproven claims. H&M are clearly out to destroy the British Monarchy. The evidence is straight from their own mouths, either with Oprah or their Netflix series, or some of the other clap trap they have spouted. In centuries gone by that would have been called treason. So make no mistake, this is not some trivial squabble which will pass. It is a serious and enduring crack in the fabric of British history. And it comes from the inside.

I started watching it last night, I was interested to see what it was all about but I couldn’t get past the first 10 minutes I found it so cringey. The constant manipulative music was enough to put you off in itself but the simpering was just too much. I had thought good on them when they upped and left the ‘system’ as they call it, but how quickly things changed once the bitter nastiness started with the Oprah interview. Just horrible and so undignified. I’m not saying they have nothing to complain about, but leaving said it all, and should have been just that, imho

Chestnut the "oh it's social media, what can you expect" excuse is starting to wear thin. It's not an excuse for anyone to say what they like. And how does that excuse the lies told by the Mail, the Express and GBNews, and all the rest?

As for "they want to destroy the British Monarchy"; what absolute claptrap. They're having a moan. Whether it's true or not I don't know. But if a thousand year old institution can't survive the complaints of a couple of minor royals, then it doesn't deserve to keep going.

What next? They sacrifice babies to drink their blood? Nothing people say should surprise me any more.

I wonder what the Meghan Markles will have achieved when everything, including the shouting, is over. They will have made some money; Meghan will have increased her notoriety, Harry revealed himself as a bitter, jealous offshoot of a prestigious family despite having (nearly ) everything he claimed to want, and I doubt they will receive a warm welcome should they return to Britain. Would anyone want to be with them knowing that everything said and done will be noted down and possibly used for future entertainment purposes?
There is only so much footage to be made from the Greatest Love Story ever told: that of Meghan.

It’s almost 3 years since they upped sticks and left the UK for a ‘private’ life. So do that, live in privacy. All the interest in them would have died down long ago if that’s what had happened. But Meghan hadn’t thought it all through sufficiently, how they would maintain a lavish lifestyle without family funding. And their ‘Archewell’ ideas didn’t go to plan either.

Hence all the hoo haa we now see.

I am tired of seeing the endlessly posed photos and whinging videos of Megan Markle and wingman Harry. Why don't they go and help the people in L.A. or the wider world who really need help?! They could be great ambassadors of action if they were to just get on walking the walk instead of talking the talk.

Perhaps in time Harry will simply have to get a job, when the world stops being fascinated by them. And Meghan could do part time voluntary work whilst raising the children.

You seem to have centred on the touchy feely here rather than the sneering woke Californian bit. I find strangers hugging me a bit discombobulating no matter whether they are royalty but enjoy hugging my family.

I’m a hugger, just can’t help myself and Covid was torture for me. I’d find myself lurching forward for a hug and then stopping dead in my tracks because hugging was against the rules. I’m making up for it now. A hug a day keeps the doctor away as far as I’m concerned.

nanna8 me too..love a hug but also have had to restrain myself with some friends as I always feel when you say Bye to someone after you've met up, always go in for a little hug ..you never know when you might Not see them again..but on meeting new people who i've never met probably wouldn't!

I don't think people should feel they have the right to hug members of the Royal Family although I did notice some women wanted to hug Charles on his recent walkabouts.

Perhaps people in the crowds wanted to hug Meghan, she seemed approachable and smiley.

I think it's an intrusion unless someone wants to be hugged.

Callistemon21, regardless of who you are, if you don't want to be hugged, you're right, it is an intrusion. Can I just make it clear, I did not comment on Meghan's right or not to hug! I quoted the hug bit before the salient point to make it make sense and so I didn't quote the whole lot which makes these posts seem long winded...or even more long winded.

Curtsying -always makes me think of the bared chest, rolled up trouser leg and funny handshake brigade.
