We have just received phone call from son they are calling for a few hours this afternoon ,we have not seen them since last year think I may get emotional ? I better get cracking take care everyone ?

Sunny but with a bitter east wind so time in garden will be limited, I can see. Lovely news from Marydoll, good news about Maw and splendid news from Urmston all make cheerful reading.

Much enjoyed our lunch with friends yesterday though DH was a bit morose. I talked for two at least and must curb that habit. I am clearly even shorter of conversation than I realised.

Nothing much planned but the day will doubtless fill itself. Hope all those visiting and being visited have a happy day.

Thanks for asking Batty. We are very happy in our new smaller "right in town" house. All the jobs are "would likes" rather than "must haves", which makes life easier.

Good news about your scan, urmstongran, now you can relax a bit.
Yesterday I had a bit of a sorry for myself day, I find it hard to recognise myself as frail and ill, and I do pay for it if I overdo things. So b..... annoying! My pre-op medication has arrived and I have a date for my assessment but not for the actual op. yet. Second Covid jab on Tuesday, so that’s another tick.
My big task for today is to cut my nails! You really wanted to know that, didn’t you? Then some garden pottering, and I may stroll as far as the local park where our youngest grandson is playing football today.

Usual chores planned today, I’ve got a load in the washer which will soon be ready to peg out, then a spell in the garden all being well - this dry weather means all the pots need watering.

Good morning everyone. It's another gorgeous sunny day in the Gower.

I haven't long woken up . Another headache ? and a wooden arm after my second jab yesterday.
On returning from having my jab I bumped into my new ally again as she was unloading plants from her car. Instead of our planned meet up next week she invited me into her garden and we had a chat over a cup of tea. She has a friend who's a social worker, good news. Well, partly. Mental health is not his department, not is our area. He has, however, given some guidance and instruction on ways to go about things.
Yesterday I also managed to obtain a telephone number for a senior psychiatric nurse; I couldn't be told that she might be of help specifically in relation to my neighbour ?. I rang her, outlined some details, gave my neighbour's name (but not address) and she said she'd investigate and ring me back. She didn't ring me back. She visited my neighbour instead. Proof she's on the system anyway, though I knew that really.

Thank you every one of you wishing me luck and hoping with me that this matter achieves a resolution. You are very lovely people ?

I'll come back to read the thread later.

Glad to hear that Urms scan was good news and that Cherry seems to have got some support for her neighbour problems. Glammagran congratulations on the new arrival. And Sheep, that you now have a good bull, and Bogden will go back to his previous owner.
I have enjoyed all the photos and news from everyone, especially to hear that Maw has a new 4 legged companion, Maisie. I hope she settles in soon, but I so wish we could see a picture, ever mind, I can imagine how beautiful that she is.

A bit more cloud around but it's still pleasant, if a tad cooler .
More shredding to do so it's just as well the green bin was emptied yesterday to make way for another black bag of shreddings.

Then a chicken to cook for tomorrow and a sausage casserole to go in the oven straight after for my dinner later. That'll keep me out of mischief .
Don't need any shopping as I have plenty in store from my trip to Asda the other day, so well organised food-wise.

More lovely pics, particularly the new baby and big sister, absolutely delightful. I love them all and look forward to seeing them in the morning. Nature at its best.

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy north Lancashire coast. Off to have my second jab this morning. My stomach/hernia is bothering me, but that’s nothing to do with the jab. Just added more Bisodol to my usual meds. Methinks I will have a lie down later, although that’s no change...except I have lots to get on with.
Wonderful to have my daughter and son here, but it shows how unused I am to company now as it tired me out and every mug and cup in the house has been used. Thank god for the wishdosher.
Joy of joys, my tickets for my two day trips next month have arrived, one for the Lake District and one for Llandudno. I’m going to put them on the mantelpiece, the altar of the house and gaze at them.
If anyone saw the interview with Geobel’s 100 year old secretary, I’m sure you will agree it was completely fascinating and how do we know how we would behave as a young woman in the same circumstances?

A nice trip out to more foreign parts tomorrow with picnic tea is planned. We are still confined - for perhaps not too much longer now - to a 6 mile radius of home. This rule can be broken for emergencies and also includes attendance for medical treatment. So, tomorrow afternoon we’re off to beautiful Carcassonne with its famous turrets. A few hours’ drive but the promise of DH’s jab at the end of it. That’s our cunning plan - but only because we’re sick of just waiting.
The things we have to do for a bit of escapist entertainment!!!

Today, it’s currently croissants in the garden, seed watering, and a lot of lounging about. But before then, a liberal application of sunscreen. Don’t forget that ladies, a gradual tan is attractive and an excellent source of Vit.D - redness not so much and ..............it’s dangerous! ⛔️

Good morning from a cloudy but still warm Black Country.

It was a lovely warm and cloudless day yesterday. Spent the afternoon with my friend in her garden. Three hours jusr flew by? She took a photo of a new accessory to my sun hat!

No real plans today. MrJ is off on a bike ride later, and I will probably pop over to Mums and take a walk with her on the Staffs railway walk.

Steak for dinner tonight!

So pleased that Maw has a new doggie companion. Sad that she cannot post with us any longer

I would say that's the best complement you could have from Dollie Marydoll. how lovely our GC are. I suspect we were put on earth to be grans?!! My GS has decided he is Jack and every tree is a Beanstalk to be climbed, but he's too small to succeed!
This morning I shall have to make 3 crumbles - one for today and 2 to freeze, and some biscuits - I've a friend popping round this pm, she's always on a diet, but will eat me out of house and home!!

Good morning one and all. I am determinedly looking south and east this morning where the sun and blue skies are. ("interesting" cloud formations otherwise!)
Was so sad to learn yesterday that a new neighbour had passed away. They moved in not long before lockdown and I had only met her once. I was looking forward to getting to know her when all this was over - she was one of those people that you immediately warm to. Just so sad, and a bit discombobulating really. I sort of feel I've lost a friend I never knew.
I didn't get round to reading yesterday's thread until late evening - a bit late to say good morning!
Cherry I'm so glad you have found someone to join with in trying to get help for your neighbour. Perhaps now someone will actually listen to you!
There were lots of beautiful photos too yesterday - thank you to all aspiring photographers. I often wish I lived somewhere where blue skies and sunshine could be taken for granted - and then remember that in the past I did! And I'm sorry to say that often yearned for cool grey skies and some rain, perverse creature that I am!
I have a glorious white lilac beside my back door and just live that perfume too Grandmafrench. Mine is just beginning to produce its leaves, so way to go!
Lots of happy birthdays and anniversaries yesterday too, a new baby grandson and a lovely head of hair - all worthy of celebration! Not to mention the happy resolution of the Blogdon Problem!
I had my second jab yesterday - so far with absolutely no side effects. With the words of the nurse ringing in my ears "Just because you had no reaction to the first one doesn't mean you'll have no reaction this time", I'm not going to be too complacent yet! But strange how some do, and some don't.
Today I have to buckle down and complete last year's tai chi paperwork. It would have been so much better to have completed it at the start of the first lockdown, but hindsight is a great thing. Who'd have thought then that we'd still be in Covid thrall so many months later.
So off I go. My almost-80-year-old raddled brain really does not like paperwork and this is going to be hard. "It is a far far better thing" etc ?

Good morning from Sefton where the sun has burned off a hazy start.
Excellent news about the scan, Urms. Cartwheel time. Maisie is about to be one very lucky dog when she is collected by Maw today. What a profusion of flamingos, baubles, pleasingly in varying poses. I hadn’t thought of planting leeks in pots but I did this with radishes yesterday. For a bit of fun I’m planting unusual salad crops this year (the radishes have a red centre).
I’m another whose iPhone photos have been rejected on GN as too big. My ‘solution’ is very convoluted and ??? so I’m keeping quiet about what I do knowing that Headmistress Marydoll, specialist in IT, will be reading. Suffice to say the images I post are often badly out of focus plus, as you now know, I can add reflection to an indistinct image!
I have a lovely afternoon planned with a garden visit. My trusty metal steed will beckon later. Life feels much better.

Good morning all from a cooler Lancashire. It was very dull here earlier, and I thought we may have some rain. However, the sun is now peeping out and the forecast is for sunshine all afternoon. I see everyone has been busy bees yesterday. Our great garden tidy up is progressing well, lots of planning now going on but no planting yet. Lots more rubbish disposal yesterday, including a few things that had to be burned. Luckily we have a small garden incinerator and no neighbours were around to annoy. The local authority will only accept certain types of waste but they don’t tell you what to do with the rest of it! Great news re. the neck scan Urmstongran, that must be a huge relief

I’m resting my aching arms today, some washing needs doing then a bit of sewing later while Mr. B plays in the shed. I have my second Covid jab tomorrow morning, first appointment so hoping to be in and out quickly. Not planned anything much after that, I had bad side effects after the first one. I may need to take it easy for a few days if it happens again. So glad to be getting it ?

Photos too large to post : Being me, I had to have a look at what I was doing wrong. I noticed that my PC, for some reason had saved the photos in formats, other than jpeg.
I re-saved them as a jpeg and lo and behold it worked. Might be worth checking.

Roads are getting busy here. The local news last night had an item about Campervans. Some are parking on the sea front overnight. Neighbourhood are shocked at people wandering around in their night attire.

kittylester Ouch huge bill. Every treatment at the vets seems so expensive. £150 to have Mya's poop analysed and no answer. In the end the vet suggested changing her food. Glad we don't pay for our poop to be done.
Beauregard I don't think we've seen the last of the frost. End of next week the temperature is dropping.

Text from lovely birthday daughter early this morning. I slept through the ping. She and granddaughter are off to Leeds for an outing so we will do the big catch up on her return. Glad she is able to celebrate this year. Last year's 50th was scuppered by the lockdown

My hip and knee are causing me a lot of jip and sleep deprived nights. Gentle gardening today. Getting some seeds in. The benches in the polytunnel are filling up. Nearly all the beans (runner and climbing) are through. No rush as I won't plant out till after 11th May (New Moon).
Hope I hear from dear son this weekend. Third weekend now since he rang. 5 weeks since he gave his notice in.
Relaxing in my hammock with my book "Silent Patient" this afternoon. Then I'll finish the day off with some arrows now MrM has found my target faces. He'd hidden them in the container.

I'll wander down to the stream soon with Mya and checked the level. It's spring fed and we take our water from it via the little water wheel that generates the power to pump it up to us. A good downpour tonight would help but nothing forecast yet.

Good morning from sunny but chilly north of Scotland.

Lots of garden tidying and potting up yesterday but the nights are still very cold so I have no seeds in the greenhouse yet. Hopefully Mother Nature will play catch up. The village is a hive of activity this morning, new fences, painting and gardening. I’m surprised as there has been constant diy activity through lockdown and everything looks lovely. It is almost as if standards have been raised (they were good) and folks are finding pleasure and satisfaction rather than a chore in looking after their homes. The place is really a prizewinning picture this morning. That said I have the paint and brushes out. Don’t want to let the side down.

Good morning from another day of blue skies and sunshine in West Sussex. When I opened the bedroom window a blast of very fresh air hit me. I will not be getting out my summer clothes yet.

I met up with DD1 and oldest GD (17) in a garden centre that lies about half-way between our homes. She lives just under an hour away on a good day but traffic here in the south gets worse every year and I am beginning to dread the journey. There were at least three sets of roadworks to negotiate yesterday ?. We had a lovely morning though and I managed to buy the plant tub that DD3 wants - it is for her birthday which was back in February! They had their very small front garden paved for car parking so want to restore some nature. The tub should hold a small tree or shrub.

Marydoll I may have tracked you down at last but I am a cautious sleuth so I will watch out for more clues - I could do with a whiteboard as in Line on Duty ??. My parents used to love going for a day out at Culzean - they would have found the M77 very convenient.

Cherry I am so glad you have found an ally and hope that there will soon be some improvement in the situation.

GrandmaJet (hope I have spelt right) no wonder you have had a down moment with major treatment ahead of you. You made a brave decision. It will be so good when you are through your surgery and on the road to recovery with the prospect of an improved quality of life .

This post is getting way too long. I also meant to say thank you to Pantglas (I think) for the tip about sourdough bread mix though I haven’t tracked one down yet.
