Good morning everyone from a sunny morning after a day of rain yesterday on the Angus coast. I don't know how effective the rain will have been as it was borne in a strong easterly breeze which was probably drying it up as it fell!

I meant to come back in and say what a beautiful funeral cortege yesterday, Ash. Spectacular really, and so fitting for a man of the theatre. And such handsome horses! Thank you for sharing.
Dentist for me today too beechnut - or at least the hygienist. And then a quick pop by to a friend.
I hate those sleepless nights Grannygravy I had one the night before last - not a wink until after 6am. But last night I slept solidly for 8 hours which was lovely.
Lovely news if your AC's jobs Gagagran. My DS2 is also about to make a 'career change' move and I admit to watching with heart in mouth - it's a big change. But he's a wise old man now (52) and not my lovely little scrap, so he knows what he's doing ?. (Do our children ever grow up in our eyes?)

I am another who missed all the excitement yesterday.

Morning all from a bright and sunny Algarve. Just like yesterday in fact despite forecasts of heavy rain for us. I’ve noticed there are some beautiful photos of England looking very springlike so must go and catch up. Not much to do today as we had our occasional cleaner yesterday.

Good morning, Mick and All. It was grey first thing here in Carlisle but now the sun is breaking out. We've had some heavy showers which will save me watering the new turves but now I shall have to mow. In spite of the drought, the grass is growing fast.
I successfully put together some clothes rails yesterday with an absolute minimum of bad language, they were easy. They look quite smart and are well-made and when my wardrobes finally arrive, they will be fine for the guest bedrooms. Money is bleeding out of this house on all the bits and bobs I'm finding I need!
It will probably be haemorrhaging out shortly as the blinds man is coming to measure and quote later this morning. A lot of windows to cover...Still, I will be glad to stop carefully sliding out of bed in the morning and crawling into the ensuite to avoid the neighbours glimpsing my aging body.

Good morning from Nottinghamshire, where we had some welcome rain yesterday and overnight. I hope it’s enough.
What beautiful photos this morning, too many to list, but I do love to see them. Our neighbour had a very mature bramley apple tree and they generously share the fruit with us. Our little town is the home of the original bramley tree which is still growing in the back garden of a cottage. It has honey fungus so its days are numbered, but the local agricultural college has taken grafts of it, so it will live on through them.
harrigran, I hope things go as well as they can today so the next procedure can go ahead. Uncertainty is so hard to live with.

Overnight rain but not enough to make a difference, so today’s excitement is a trip to the garden centre to buy a new connector to attach the bit of hose from the tap to the hose reel. Endless excitement!

Yesterday’s visit from the oven man has resulted in a sparkling kitchen and DH threatened with salad and sandwiches for the next week because I can’t bear to sully all the immaculate surfaces. It’ll soon wear off. The electrician came to connect our new awnings to the power supply, which should mean days of rain just when I am dying to be able to operate them from inside, but their moment will come.

Hope all those with appointments have satisfactory outcomes and that a good day is on the cards for everyone.

Good morning I'm feeling so relieved today after my procedure yesterday, it wasn't bad at all really just uncomfortable and the best news is I was discharged afterwards?

If anyone ever has to have this done please don't worry as I did as its nothing to fear

Hello all from SW Herts, and hoping Friday can still go ahead Harrigran, what an extra worry for you. Loved the description of the mammagram and haircut Marydoll.

Still nothing happening on the expected baby front, now 9 days overdue. The DDiL, DS and DGS are all down with colds, but the Covid tests were negative. It is looking more and more like being a Caesar on Friday, which they were so desperately hoping to avoid. And DS is coping with the pain of a hernia, and lifting a heavy toddler is not helping! Sorry, I know this thread is meant to be an uplifting one, but we are allowed to share worries too?

Good morning Mick and all from an overcast S Welsh coast, we had some rain overnight. I didn't sleep well last night so a gentle day ahead I think.
Our youngest has her first jab today, she's thirty five. We have our second on May 4th.
We may take Sam for a stroll to the harbour later to see if the filming has finished and deliver some more bananas to the neighbours - Mr Lins somehow ordered six kilos instead of just six!
Good news for NanKate and Corner's goddaughter. I hope that Mr Harrigran's tests go well. Hope that Cherry is well.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton. We had quite heavy rain yesterday evening, and it continued through the night. We may have a shower later on, but I have taken a chance and put the bedding in the machine.

Had a good clean and sort out of the dining room yesterday, and also managed to run the Shark over downstairs. Didn't manage the walk to the postbox, but will do that today after my usual tidy up and clean of the kitchen.

Need to send an email this week to book club friends about this month's read, but struggling to think of anything extra to add to the excellent review posted by our group leader. She also thinks we may be able to meet up at the end of June. I noticed that our book, ' A Month in the Country', has been made into a film starring Colin Firth, so I have ordered it.

Also ordered a new dish drying rack for the draining board, as the current one has a split in it - well, I have had it since before we moved in here in 1993!

Lovely photos again today; hope today is a good one for us all.

Great news Roses.

Morning from Froggy France, where the wall-to-wall sunshine just goes on. We are promised rain from Friday. Yeah, right.

First of all I am so pleased that Roses endured her endoscopy without too much discomfort, and the result was obviously not too bad either.

I saw a few of the controversial posts yesterday, and found them most unladylike. I fully understand some women feel the need to use bad language - heck, you share the planet with men! - but it has no place here. The Internet is full of much more suitable debating grounds for such exchanges.

More good news today about those of us who've had even just one jab - not only do we get much milder symptoms, if we catch the wretched thing at all, but we are significantly less infectious to others, even indoors at home. Like ripples in a pond, the good news about vaccination just gets better.

I strimmed a couple of times yesterday and my back is slightly aware of that fact. Today I will push the mower round by way of a change.

B9 I know how you feel. My DD is booked for a caesarean on Friday ( due to previous problems). Hope all goes well for your DIL.
I think Sencia has a DD also whose baby is due this week.

Another day of not much planned, I am feeling the effects of yesterday’s bending and lifting while sorting boxes, etc for recycling. I will read everyone's news when I've gained my composure. I was so looking forward to my first escape day yesterday for ages and ages. The day started badly, improved towards lunch time but then went downhill fast. The second escape day (Thursday) now won't happen.

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is cool and overcast following a night of rain.
My 2nd jab yesterday went very well. Fingers crossed you manage to secure yours soon, Marydoll. Thinking of Mrharri going in for tests, Iris as she recovers and the relief NanKate must be feeling having had the result of the biopsies.
Nearly half the properties where I live have changed hands in the last 12 months. There is much busyness as radical transformations take place, including the demolition of a bungalow because the purchasers prefer to have a house. DH is amazed at just how many lorries deliver, skips appear, roofs disappear, front gardens fill with building materials, back gardens are churned up by diggers and comparatively newly-built brick walls tumble in collisions. It’s having a knock-on effect upon us if you’ll pardon the pun.
Ive just put the heating on and may have to layer up to take today’s cycle ride.

Just had a text that DDil went into labour earlier this morning! Last time ended up as an emergency C section with crash team called to DGS and then within a few minutes to DDiL. DS promptly went into shock at the thought he nearly lost both of them within the space of a few minutes.

She has got to the stage of needing Diamorphine, I don't suppose I will hear any more until there is a result, DS has other things to do than look at his phone!

I haven’t read all the posts yet but wanted to post before the morning is over, so will come back and read them shortly.

It’s a rather grey start to the day here in South Yorkshire but dry for the moment. We did have some welcome rain during last evening and through the night though.

Another day with little planned, it’s becoming rather samey I’m afraid. Still, things are starting to open up, so there will gradually be more options to choose from.

To all with troubles, I wish an easier day for you today.

Morning all from a cold dull West Yorks.How cold was it last night. Our flagpole cherry is in full bloom, a lovely greeting on opening the curtains first thing, such a pity the blossom is short lived but its position attracts some lovely birds for us to watch.
NanKate such relief to get good news, a weight lifted.Harrigran sorry to here DH treatment may be on hold,do keep us updated it's a worrying time for you all.
Had to laugh at Marydoll photo as with my limited vision it did resemble a toy the GCs have and we call it Scuffy Emu.
Not much happening today other than GCsx4 to collect from school, all here for tea and home about 7p.m when we collapse on sofa.
Thinking of all with worries and illness.take care whilst enjoying new openings.

Marydoll I know you have lots of health issues and am not trying to compare but I thought it might comfort you a little to know that I had five miserable days after the first AstraZenica jab and was dreading the second. Not a SINGLE side effect second time. I don't have health issues but hope you are as lucky !
