kitty as if we could forget who you are! What a lovely hall, so spacious and uncluttered, despite the pink umbrella! I would love to have a hall like that.
Phone calls from both DSs yesterday. DS1 tells me he was on the radio (5 live) the other day discussing Line of Duty with Nicky Campbell! Sorry I missed it. A week or so ago, my sister heard him, also on 5 live, but again I managed to miss it. He has to use a pseudonym when he goes on a phone-in. I must
start listening to 5 live!
Yesterday I visited my friend who's been on chemo. She was remarkably cheerful, though it has taken an awful toll on her. Someday soon, we'll be able to go out for lunch, as has been our usual custom, every Wednesday. Fingers firmly crossed.
It's a really horrid day and the weather forecast says there is worse to come. Garden plans must be put on hold.

(1001 Posts)Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good friends and jolly good company.
A warm welcome and I trust that you will all enjoy our new meeting place. Spic and span but homely with it.

So glad to hear you are home dragonfly. Take great care to relax all of today. You mustn’t worry too much about anything - easier said than done! ?
dustyangel Your kind comment regarding Hattie's portrait cheered me greatly.
kitty Your hall is stunning. I like every single detail. 100% successful.
Topsy Happy birthday greetings from us lot. Enjoy your day.
dragonfly I am delighted to hear that you are home again and have the meds to help your system to recover from the worrying setback. Take it very, very easy.

I'm happy for you.
A very warm welcome to monk08 and Blossoming. The more the merrier. We enjoy having newcomers to the kitchen. There is ample room and plenty of TLC.
Charleyg "that minx" spent the night in her apartment. Mr Soop went outside to fill the bird feedings and...out she strolled. I was fast asleep. Mr Soop did the honours and told me all about her visit when he brought me a mug of early morning tea. Needless to say, she left after her breakfast.
Grandmabatty Raining in bonnie Kintyre. Enjoy tomorrow's duck feeding session with your grandson. Simple pleasures are the best, methinks.
Susan - and breathe...
brook The Orchard Tearoom sounds delightful. Did you have a pudding? Such a big treat are puds with lashings of custard.
Thank you all for your kind words regarding Hattie's portrait. I did my best. Maw deserved as much.
I haven't fully caught up with all the activities in the kitchen. I will return a little later and try to respond to any messages that I've missed.
Wasn't Line of Duty gripping? I shall miss that particular drama. It was always well written and acted.
Last night's serene scene through the window...
Just popped my head in. I’ve hoovered, washed floors and cleaned bathrooms. Nipped to our nearest M&S food hall for their £10 dine in, I had £8 left on a credit slip, so £3 doesn’t really count for duck a l’orange tonight, truffled cauli cheese and profiteroles for Mr J. He’s at work, so deserves it, I just can’t be bothered to cook! The wind is getting up, greenhouse is closed tight, now I’ve sat down it’s chilly, so heating will go on in a tick. I’m going to watch a GBBO stand up to cancer I’d recorded, catch up later.
Happy Birthday topsy ?? and a very warm welcome to Blossoming and monk08.
He has to use a pseudonym when he goes on a phone-in
Wowzer! ?
We had a Grandmother clock but when we went abroad we let the house furnished and one of our tenants took it with them
Oh dragonfly what a mean thing to do.
I do hope all is now okay Dragonfly I had similar a few weeks ago but they didn't keep me in hospital. Much better to be kept in I think.
dustyangel no I haven't had my first shot yet as I need to discuss it with my oncologist beforehand. I don't think he is wanting me to have it at the moment. With how tired I am feeling I don't think I could cope with any other side effects. My husband is having his first vaccination tomorrow morning.
Thank you for the welcome, I have returned with coconut chocolate tarts to share.
Ooh, Blossoming like bounty bars! I'll take one please and leave some blueberry muffins.
Thank you for the welcome, I will leave freshly baked banana loaf and choc chip cookies.
Welcome monk08 , and thank you. I am munching a slice of your banana loaf with a hot chocolate drink. I always think banana loaf can be counted as one of my 5-a-day fruits ??
soop it certainly is serene in your part of Scotland and you seem to have permanent perfect sunsets ?
Wishing all a very good evening. It feels like Sunday to me (but I know it’s not).
It’s a welcome from me monk08 and Blossoming you will enjoy being here?
Got home early this afternoon and I think we had the best of the weather not looking good for the rest of the day.
Love your hall Kitty very smart.
Enjoy your evening everyone.
Good afternoon from the Shire. I am trying out a new memory aid so lets see how I get on.
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I awoke early to the mist wraiths and a weak glimmering sun. The view changing constantly as the mist unfurled and reformed. Well worth waking early for. Today it is wall to wall rain gently falling and nourishing the crops and the kitchen garden.
kitty we like your hall. Worth waiting for. Such a shame you missed Naked Gardening Day though
CH informs me we visited the naked gardeners garden some years ago in Malmesbury (he wan't in!) As for you dragonfly so good to hear you are home again. Rest well.
soop your art continues to give great pleasure to many of us and Maw must be thrilled. Oh yes, and welcome to anyone new. You will get used to my ramblings, omissions and an 'oft confused state.
CH (current husband for anyone new) is still in pain. Hospital and MRI scan soon. Great support from our household of medics but hands are tied without the scan.
Sorry, no cake today but we have a surplus of eggs atm so may well get Mr. Ken Wood out tomorrow. Victoria sponge sound OK?
Just noticed how much my lovely lemon Angelfish has grown, must be the new food. Is galen still around and greyduster.
Hope you are looking after yourself dear soop and resting when you can. No more arabesques over tins of varnish I hope?
Well I think that was quite successful for my alzheimer's addled brain! Take care everyone and stay safe.
grandmafrench, and everyone else I haven't mentioned
Doh!
Welcome monk and Blossoming. The first time I came into the kitchen was when I was a newbie and had my head bitten off on one of the threads. I found you could always find a friendly face and comfort in here.
How lovely to hear from you Izabella. I am so sorry CH is still in pain. That is a worry - I hope they can relieve it.
I do love your poetic posts.
kitty your hallway is gorgeous! There's a bit of green
here! It was well worth the wait, I'm sure.
Another beautiful photo soop.I think if I lived in your house I would spend my entire life just looking out the window and enjoying the gorgeous views!
Lovely to hear from you Izabella.I hope a solution can be found for CH’s pain.
Glad you are home dragonfly and sending good wishes to Dexter for tomorrow??
Happy bitprthday Nannytopsy?????
A calmer day here today. We have caught up with all household chores so garden and house all up to date?DH is making a diabetic friendly sweet and sour for tea. He’s a goodun.I love sweet and sour and with much trial and error he has perfected a recipe that doesn’t affect my blood sugar levels.
Right, I am going to emulate Urmstongran and be #lazygran?
TOYA and hope you all have a good evening.
Hello blossoming and monk, good to see you here. Delighted to see you again izabella, hope your CH is much more comfortable very soon.
Hope you’re having a very happy birthday nannytopsy, all the best people are born in May
.
Your lodger knows where she can sleep safely and comfortably soop, you must have had a big smile this morning.
A very elegant hall kitty, it will be wonderful to come home to.
Horrid day here, cold, heavy showers and oh so windy. Is it really May? Have I slept through summer and it’s November? Not a lot happening here so I’ll say goodbye and TOYA.
Every one of your messages deserve recognition.
Izabella You continue to be our inspirational star.
monk08 and Blossoming Even if you had not supplied us with cake, you would still be most welcome to join us. Having said that, we'll enjoy tucking into your very kind offerings. You now have your personal chairs and colourful cushions with your names stitched on.
Puzzler I agree that it seems like a Sunday. I've conquered a pile of ironing. I've watched the snooker and, Shaun. my favourite, has a mountain to climb if he's to win the trophy.
Jax Your unbridled energy makes me green with envy.
Tomorrow will be a busy day. Early morning the GP will sweat over extracting bloods from me. Always a tricky procedure as my veins go into hiding. After that, we hope that the new mattress will be delivered and the old one removed. Then, ta day, I have the joy of a hairdressing appointment. If I like the result, I shall share a pic with you. I usually need to fuss over any new style. It's a girl thing!
I have to log off and do some fussin' in the kitchen. After which, back to watch the final frames in the snooker match.
My best wishes to you all. Thank you for your company.

Good luck tomorrow soop, I hope the blood tests go smoothly (keep warm before you have them if you can, makes it easier)
Isabella your posts give me such pleasure, they are lyrical about the natural life and beauty surrounding us. Thank you. ?
Apart from physio I have done very little today. Not a holiday here but we had a lazy day and enjoyed it anyway. My eyes have been sore so have kept one of the blinds down but will be sure to put it up in time to catch the sunset. Last night’s was spectacular.
Susan I too could gaze at the view soop kindly posts for us, all day. I’m not really that active, it’s just once I start, I have to finish, I’ve done ‘not much else’ this afternoon. These new kitcheners put me to shame with their lovely baking, just not me, I think it’s because I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. The rain is now lashing down, I agree cornergran but can’t really complain, last week I was begging for rain!
Anyway, as the extent of my ‘cooking’ tonight is switching the oven on, I’ll go and do it.
