‘Evening All’

Hi Doodle ?
I like how you remember what a sensitive soul I am.

It’s been bluddy freezing round here today. Icy wind this afternoon. I got my hair cut and it feels wonderful. Not too short, can tuck it behind my ears or wear a headband. Just the colour to sort out at some stage. Maybe in Malaga in 8 weeks?

muse my fingers and toes are crossed for some good news for you very soon. It must be your turn about now surely? You’ve had an amazing time brook by the sounds of it. Just what you needed. Your husband will be glad to have you home though I expect.

Wishing all here a peaceful night ahead. x

Hellogirl1 Tue 04-May-21 23:27:45

Good to hear from you Galen, I like your wildlife pond. Why does Gary not like your lodgers? They ARE wildlife!
I rang Lincs Ark this morning to ask about Lola the cat, seeing as I still hadn`t heard from them and it`s a week now. I was told they are very busy, they`ll check on where I live and get back to me.
I`ve been promised a drive of about 8 or 9 miles at the weekend to see hubby`s niece and her husband, also my BIL, in the house they`ve just moved into after leaving Lancashire, sorry, Greater Manchester. It`s a 5 bedroomed house with a swimming pool, but doubt that I`ll be taking a dip, lol!

soop Wed 05-May-21 12:50:01

Nine months of tangled hair removed and restyled...

Back after lunch for a mighty big catch-up.

Yiayia4 Wed 05-May-21 12:58:06

Hair looks lovely Soop hope your feeling better.
Much better day here just been to the park with Boris(puppydog) he now wants to help me with my diamond art??

Puzzler61 Wed 05-May-21 13:09:42

Hi, I love your hair soop. Smashing photo of you.
Urmston your hair was looking extremely classy on the Good Morning thread today.
I hope you both feel glam.
Do the words “puppy”and “diamond art” really go together “Yiayia” ? ?
I play Scrabble on my I-pad and my cat takes swipes at my moving fingers.
Have as good a day as you can everyone. ?

Puzzler61 Wed 05-May-21 13:10:46

*Hellogirl” I have fingers crossed that a furry friend will become yours soon. ? ?‍⬛

grannytilly2511 Wed 05-May-21 13:56:28

Hair looks lovey soop
Having my hair cut and coloured on Friday .can’t wait will be 5 months since my last visit .

muse Wed 05-May-21 14:07:06

soop It's so lovely to see everyone's new look. Amazing smile soop. Me tomorrow grin ✂️

I'll be back tonight but have just taken a photo of some bulbs that have started to open. Have to show off this one - Narcissus Replete. Bought them last year.

dragonfly46 Wed 05-May-21 14:20:14

You are looking lovely as ever soop.
And your hair is very classy Urmston I agree about the colour it is lovely as it is.

Dexter's op didn't quite go as planned yesterday. The vet found soft tissue he hadn't seen before so left it alone so he is not sure how successful the op was. He does seem much quieter though. Unfortunately he had not done the biopsy on his lump by his eye which we are worried about. It would have been so easy while he was under!
Poor little doggy had such a sore throat he couldn't eat last night so with Maw's help I have made him some chicken broth and hope that will be more easily eaten tonight.

Lovely pictures everyone.

Puzzler61 Wed 05-May-21 14:20:30

That Narcissus is a Beauty! Love the double bi- colour ones.

annodomini Wed 05-May-21 14:32:57

Lovely hair-do, soop. One day I will get into my car and drive all the way to Kintyre to get my hair cut there! Mine has been left too long at the back. I may have to pin it up before my next appointment.
hellogirl, what a shame that the cat people are dragging their feet. Surely your need for a cat and the cat's need for a good home should be a no-brainer. I hope Lola will, sooner rather than later, arrive in her ideal abode - yours! Your relatives new property sounds very posh. A swimming pool too, but it would be a bit too cold at the moment so you're wise not to consider taking the plunge.
Sorry I'm not greeting every newbie separately by name. I've lost track! But I know you'll all become part of this friendly kitchen community, especially if you provide cakes!grin

kittylester Wed 05-May-21 14:57:07

I'm just not coming back in the kitchen till next Tuesday. This talk of haircuts is depressing me as I have to wait until next Monday - even DH, who has lively hair anyway went this morning.

soop as lovely as ever and urms that colour is fine as it is.

Hello that hall is in my house, therefore, not posh at all. grin I hope you get a feline friend sorted soon.

kittylester Wed 05-May-21 14:58:06

DH's hair is lovely though it is definitely more lively than mine!!

soop Wed 05-May-21 15:06:34

A very warm welcome to Tilly. Make yourself comfortable. There is cake in the cupboard, I believe. wink

Yesterday was manic. the GP was running a little late. He could not access a vein suitable to the extracting of blood. The NHS driver was wanting to leave with samples for the lab and had to go before the vein finally gave forth. My arm is purple with bruising. Anyway, with luck, it went to the lab today. Tomorrow, at 9:15 I go to hospital for the Zoledronic Acid infusion. The blood results must be ready by that time.

Hair do took forever. Much washing down and sanitizing throughout. Lots of frizz chopped off. At the end of the afternoon, I went into a minor panic mode. I actually wished for the pile of hair to be restored to my scalp. Was driven home thinking...I look just like my late Nana. Not that she wasn't lovely in my eyes, but I felt very much older than my years. Feeling better since a good "tiddle" with the fringe in particular.

Arrived home to have the almighty task of opening two ginormous cartons containing the new mattress, pillows, duvet and bed set. A single person would have had difficulty managing the switch over. Honest to goodness, I had the best night's sleep in years and years. Mr Soop has to sleep in a chair. He has circulation problems in his legs and, once he lies down, he develops extremely painful cramps. The new bedding is Nectar. I highly recommend it.

By 7pm we were a tad weary. Enjoyed a very simple supper and thanked our lucky stars that we had survived the day.

Fern spent the night in her apartment. She has enjoyed both breakfast and lunch. Although she's quite a bit slimmer, she does look healthy.

I'm adding pics of the wet garden. By the end of the summer, the gunnera will be up to eight feet high. I shall keep you posted.

Will now hope to catch up with you lovely lot.

Grandmabatty Wed 05-May-21 15:38:09

Lovely hairdo Soop. And it's more lovely to put a face to the kind and caring posts. I wish I knew you in real life. I'm not long home from being a drama queen and I'm feeling rather tired but dd needs me to pick up dgs from his grandad as they have car issues. Naturally I agreed. Any opportunity to see dgs! As I said on the Good Morning thread, I'm used in interviews for head teachers etc in role play as I have a teaching background. I've done this for quite a number of years and enjoy it. Today was very interesting. I had felt apprehensive as I haven't done this since last February but I copied with the changed rules. Kittylester I get my hair cut next Wednesday. I'm sorry to hear Dexter's op wasn't successful. It does seem a shame that the other problems weren't investigated while he was under. Anyway I have to go pick up a toddler. Back later, lovely people.

soop Wed 05-May-21 15:46:52

Galen Us lot like your new lodgers. Please pass on to Garry. We are in the majority.grin

Hellogirl We said hello to David on two separate occasions yesterday. The site has a number of new, static caravans on it. I preferred it as it used to be.
I gather that you are hoping to adopt a furry, four-legged friend. It is exactly what you need right now. There are far too many animals waiting for a loving home, and to share your home, with you, would be ideal for a a needy pussy cat.
muse You have my respect. I would sooner travel by train. Will you ask for assistance at the stations? I rely on such perks. I am hoping with all my heart that your son has some good fortune in store. Also that you have good news about your granddaughter. flowers

soop Wed 05-May-21 15:58:00

dragonfly We are rooting for Dexter. It's impossible not to worry endlessly when one of our beloved pets is not 100% well and bouncing with boundless energy. We hope for better news before too long.

Hello dear Doodle. I've missed you.

muse The Narcissus Replete is a stunning flower. I like both the form and the delicious soft colouring.

Lins1066 Wed 05-May-21 16:37:24

Lovely hairstyle soop, also a great painting of Maw's Rosie, I imagine that she was delighted.
We managed to take Sam for a walk this morning but goodness it was cold. This afternoon we've had hail showers, the garden was white. Yet again I have gunnera envy, ours is just beginning to sprout. That narcissus is beautiful muse.

Jaxjacky Wed 05-May-21 16:51:46

Hi all, very chic soop you look so elegant, (she says in t shirt and jeans), a very interesting garden, I’ve not seen a wet garden before. Crumbs hello, I thought they’d be crying out for responsible cat owners; I house sat, awaiting a plumber, at DD’s this morning her two kittens where all over my bag and iPad, I was petrified they would escape when I let the plumber in. Home again washing done, dinner prepped I was running a bath when I got the text to book my next jab, a week early.
nuse I have my fingers crossed the next call you get from either, preferably both of your children, is wondrous news, the narcissus looks like it’s been carved, does it smell as lush as it looks? Grandmabatty like riding a bike, it all came back to you, you have achieved!
Catch up later everyone.

Jaxjacky Wed 05-May-21 16:53:02

were not where, tut, tut.

soop Wed 05-May-21 17:03:31

I am so lucky to have you lovely lot in our kitchen. A great deal of kindness shared between us. Long may it last.

It is chilly hereabouts. The sun has shone throughout the day. I've not wanted to venture outdoors.

It will be an early start to the day tomorrow. I shall pop into the kitchen as soon as we return from the hospital

About to catch the end of the Repair Shop. We are very fond of this programme.

Until we meet again. Take good care of yourselves. smile moon

brook2704 Wed 05-May-21 18:12:36

A really beautiful picture of you soop, you look very stylish ? the garden looks good too but not as lovely as you! I hope tomorrow goes ok for you
Will pop back later ..

Synonymous Wed 05-May-21 18:21:21

soop your new hairdo looks very chic! I have not yet arranged an appointment to be shorn, it all seems such a faff at present!
Sorry Mr soop is having to sleep in a chair, just hope he can get comfy.
Himself is having a few issues with his new leg but it is difficult to get an appointment so he soldiers on. I am having to massage his stump with cream mixed with essential oils every night which is helping to soothe everything down.
Building work is continuing and more concrete will be poured tomorrow hopefully. DD and I are concentrating on working out the minimum requirements for life without a kitchen for a week (hopefully no more than that) and boxing up everything else. Such a blessing that I am feeling so much better since DD’s arrival as I am more able to help, I just lack staying power but hopefully it will come. It is like a madhouse here and will doubtless be worse before it gets better but it will be so well worth it all by the time it is finished. We just need to keep taking the vitamins! ?

Charleygirl5 Wed 05-May-21 18:40:27

Urmston save your money- your hair is a beautiful colour.

soop that is a very smart hairdo- I do hope you are pleased with it.

Fern is dining on the best money can buy so of course she has a sleek coat. I really am tempted to join her after the 17th of this month- I know I will be fed well.

I have been for the eye trial today and 6 hours later I can actually see again.

Hellogirl I am amazed that the company actually managed to rehome any cats as they appear to be so inefficient. Hopefully, they will get their act together and Lola goes to a new home.
