Lovely hair soop . Tres chic!
We ( well mostly DH!) have shifted the first quarter ton of gravel. Just 10 more bags to go ( another quarter ton). Then our gravel area will be finished.

Tomorrow DH sees a consultant about his leg ulcers. It is not good when they tell you to be topped up with painkillers before attending!
I shall drive him as he may be distracted on the way back. ?
Best wishes to all the dogs - I hope Rosie is settling in well?
Have a good night everyone.

It’s been a funny old day weather-wise. Sunshine, towering clouds, rain, hailstones, very windy and no wind. A confused and confusing sort of a day.

Your hair really suits you soop, hope tomorrow works out as it should. Yours is lovely urms, colour just right as it is.

Poor Dexter, positive vibes winging their way from here.

I’m with you about the lack of staying power synonymous, from what I gather from friends we’re in good company. It will come back as life settles into its next pattern, I’m sure of it. The building work will be finished, Mr S will be more at one with his new leg and life will be so much easier. It will get better.

I’m sorry your hope for a new feline family member is being so frustrating hellogirl, it’s no wonder some people give up.

Must move and magic myself into the rl kitchen, it seems Mr C is hungry. What I’d give for a resident chef smile.

Take care everyone

Urms love your hair, looks so nice.
muse hope your son got on ok.
soop I had my hair done today too. Feels good doesn’t it, yours looks so nice, ? Hope the bloods are ok and the new mattress and bedding make for restful sleep.
Has MrSoop tried quinine for his cramps? According to the Gp it is not shown to have any effect on cramp at all but DH takes it for his and it helps. As soon as he stops within days the cramp starts again.
dragonfly poor Dexter. Hope he feels more lively soon.
Maw hope Rosie is settling in well.
Nannytopsy sorry your DH has leg ulcers. So painful. Hope they improve soon with treatment.
Take care all TOYA ?

‘Evening All’.

An enjoyable day here. ‘Simply Food’ with stepfather. He so enjoys wandering and choosing his own groceries once a fortnight. As he said ‘there’s so much choice of great quality’.

We took him home where he unpacked his shopping and opened the bar.
?
Over a wee dram or two we looked at some old photos. My mum’s surprise 60th party at the local cricket club. Seeing her younger than me made me sad.

We came home at 4pm. I went onto our balcony and peered over. The Bevano Lounge downstairs was busy (outside only just yet). It’s nice to see some normality returning. x

Hellogirl1 Wed 05-May-21 20:45:12

Soop, your hair looks lovely, does Mr Soop like it? David always used to say "Do you want me to get `em for you?"
Poor Dexter, I hope he`s soon back to feeling better.
I`ve had a call tonight from Lincs Ark about Lola. She`s sorry but someone has had a look at where we live, and we`re too close to the main road, only 60 metres away, and don`t have a large garden for Lola to play in. For heavens sake, if she knew anything about cats she`s know that they don`t stay put all the time, they like to wander. So it`s back to the drawing board.

brook2704 Wed 05-May-21 20:56:11

What a day weather wise we’ve had - sunshine one minute then really big hailstones the next and very cold for May too. Let’s hope it warms up soon.
We’ve got DGC here for a sleepover tonight as school is closed tomorrow due to polling day. They’ve only just settled down, DGD age 6 is fast asleep now but DGS age 7 has been through to the lounge numerous times with various excuses ? hopefully that’s it now and he’ll be asleep soon!
I’m sorry Dexters op didn’t work out as planned dragonfly but hope he improves soon.
Hope your DH appointment tomorrow goes ok nannytopsy and it’s not too painful.
Sounds like you’ve had another enjoyable day with your stepfather Urms and you enjoyed reminiscing with the photos. Looking at old photos always makes me feel a bit sad so I don’t do it that often!

brook2704 Wed 05-May-21 20:58:32

That’s a shame about Lola hellogirl seems a bit unfair to me!

Hellogirl1 Wed 05-May-21 21:00:40

Thank you Brook, me too.

mrshat Wed 05-May-21 21:23:21

soop and Urms - lovely hairstyles. The colour is great Urms, no need to change it!
Keep safe and well folks flowers

Yiayia4 Wed 05-May-21 21:46:31

Sorry to hear about Dexter hope he feels better soon.

Nannytopsy Wed 05-May-21 22:53:44

Hellogirl it seems that cat rescue centres have some extreme and arbitrary rules. I’m afraid I would be looking to buy a kitten because you won’t change anyone’s mind.

Hellogirl1 Wed 05-May-21 23:31:33

Nannytopsy, I don`t want a kitten because I don`t want to go through all the house training again. Our last 2 cats were rescue cats, they seem to be getting more particular nowadays.

Charleygirl5 Thu 06-May-21 15:56:13

Oh dear, sorry to hearHellogirl that you are having to start again. I live in a cul de sac and I was nearly turned down re Tara because there would be cars on the road! The road was the last place she went.

A pity a stray does not walk through your door like around here. I do not want another cat unless it is fostered and even then I am thinking about furniture being scratched again. Good luck I think you may need it.

I ended up turning off the heating because I have had a fellow here all day and obviously born in a field. He has gone, I am frozen and the heating is on again.

soop Thu 06-May-21 16:29:59

Hellogirl What a bloody buggeration!!!!!! Lola would have loved living with you.

I've had the infusion. Was planning to tackle the ironing. Guess what? It's still untouched by human hand. The aches will start tomorrow. I guess that means that the ironing may remain where it is for a wee while yet.

In order to get a vein to co-operate for the insertion of the canula, I sat with my hands in hot water for ten minutes. No complaints. I was frozen by the time we reached the hospital

It's time for a mug of tea and watching of the Repair Shop. I shall pop back to say farewell before I log off.

Susan56 Thu 06-May-21 16:34:03

Love your new hairdo soop.I remember last years pictures of the gunnera in all its glory!

We have had a very lazy day today.Yesterday we drove down to West Wales to see my in laws, five hours there as there was a very long diversion and four hours back as we took a different route. We managed to fit in a picnic and walk on the beach as well as several hours with DH’s family. We’re both exhausted today, our dodgy knees aren’t made for such long journeys.Saying that we had a lovely day.

Hellogirl, I’m sorry you aren’t being allowed to regime Lola.I hope you find another cat soon.

Hoping that Dexter is improving after his operation ???

Also hoping that Mr nannytopsy’s appointment has gone well today.

Charley, my husband never closes a door?I am used to him but it drives my mother mad?

Am literally falling asleep so a nap I think before our evening meal?

TOYA

Susan56 Thu 06-May-21 16:35:12

Crossed posts soop, what a nightmare for you but glad the infusion is now done?

Grandmabatty Thu 06-May-21 17:01:30

Glad you've had your infusion Soop. It sounds like a full on day Susan. Hellogirl what a disappointment for you. Charleygirl I've had the heating on for most of the day. It's ridiculous in May!
Today I have been very lazy, apart from a little walk to vote. I'll make up for it tomorrow. Have a good evening all.

Bellanonna Thu 06-May-21 17:05:01

Soop I’m glad th infusion has now been done, Please don’t worry about the ironing, just look after yourself.
Re heating, well it’s on here too.

soop Thu 06-May-21 17:20:41

you lot are lovely and kind and so much more besides. flowers

I am about to log off because I need to attend to a few jobs before we relax into our evening.

I am wearing a padded gilet. Crazy! The wind is north easterly. It most certainly has a bite to it.

Until tomorrow, please take good care of yourselves. smile moon

GrannyGravy13 Thu 06-May-21 18:00:47

soop your hair looks fab, so pleased you have had your infusion at last.

brook2704 Thu 06-May-21 18:25:36

Heating has been on here all day, it’s freezing ? the snow from this morning has gone but it’s rained most of the day. What awful weather for May!
DGC have now been returned home, I’ve tidied away the toys and the house seems quiet. Just settling down now with salmon, rice and peas for tea in front of the TV ...
Hope everyone has an enjoyable evening, take care all

Jaxjacky Thu 06-May-21 18:35:16

Glad your infusion is over and done soopand it’s not ironing, it’s dry washing, so fine to be left alone.
I was voting at 7:25am, then did little for a while, recovering from early out with two mugs of tea. The last couple of trays with indoor seedlings are in the greenhouse, fingers crossed for no nasty frosts. This afternoon I’ve been faffing putting a loose menu together, we have friends coming for a meal on the 29th, INDOORS! if necessary. I asked Mr J for his view on something, ‘it’s a month away yet’ was his response, no concept of forward planning that man! Our first opportunity, apart from a brief Christmas lunch, to show off the new kitchen, I think we’ll sit indoors anyway ?
Have a pleasant evening all, thoughts with those less fortunate, in not so good places x ttfn.

NanaandGrampy Thu 06-May-21 18:50:05

Evening all,

You suit that haircut beautifully Soop . It was hard to imagine when you still had long hair that anything could suit you so well, but it really does look very stylish.

Hope the trip for the infusion goes well. Always makes me envision them dipping you in a large pot !!

We had the carpet cleaner here this afternoon and its now as wet indoors as it was out. The sun has finally come out here for now though so its glorious to sit with the orangery door open enjoying the evening.

Grampy has had his second vaccination and mine is scheduled in for tomorrow , so that's excellent news. We think we will be going down to support our eldest daughter next week as her MiLs prognosis is not good the cancer having spread already from the lungs to the liver .

She will be going to the hospital to see the consultant next week so we thought we could do anything round the house that needs doing and take the children out after school and feed them. It'll be a sad time for them all.

Anyway, sending a sunny hug to anyone who is poorly and wishing you all a happy day xx

Urmstongran Thu 06-May-21 19:02:07

‘Evening All’.

Brr! It’s been a chilly afternoon round these parts after a sunny late morning. Himself’s 69th birthday today & we met up with old friends for a couple of hours this afternoon at a CAMRA bar for drinks. We asked my stepfather to join us and we all had a good time together.

Luckily there was a deep awning to keep the showers off us and plastic sides to shelter us from the breeze, plus patio heaters. Not like May at all. Memorable in it’s own way today!

Just about to share fish, chips & peas from the great chippy downstairs. Then a cuppa & a slice of birthday cake (okay, M&S Battenburg).
?

Wishing all on here a peaceful night ahead. x

Doodle Thu 06-May-21 19:10:33

I’ve had my hair cut !!! It feels wonderful.?
Hellogirl sorry to hear about Lola. That must be a disappointment. Hope you find an answer soon.
Charleygirl what were you doing with a man in your house all day? ..........?
Glad the transfusion went well. soop. Certainly no ironing. Rest now please.
Sounds like you had a lovely day Susan even if it was a long one.
N&G sorry to hear about your DD’s MiL. Sounds as though your support and help will be much appreciated.
Hope all the kitcheners are ok.
Maw little stroke for Rosie. Hope she’s settling in well.
