Morning everyone. Nippy but sunny here though showers forecast. Haven't been outside but stood in doorway. Finding Gransnet good for wellbeing in that it provides sense of community. I love seeing what others have planned.Great news about the efficacy of vaccines yesterday and the reduction of transmission. We are so fortunate. Can't wait for my two youngest to receive theirs and be able to visit. I have not seen my son for over fifteen months. I just want to touch his hand really. Am lucky in that one daughter lives relatively near. Will crack on with some on line learning.

B9exchange Thu 29-Apr-21 09:38:02

Thank you so much everyone for keeping me going yesterday, and for all your good wishes today. I will post as soon as the little one has had her check and they are on their way home. Two year old DGS is reputed to be very excited about his sister, I don't think he knows what is going to hit him! grin

So sorry to hear about your grief Baubles and what a difficult day for you Elliane. LauraNorder I expect you have gone already, but we will all miss you, I really enjoyed your common sense posts. Have a good break and speed back soon. I know what you mean about spending too long on here, I was here most of yesterday, must try and get on with things now.

First task - we have a scrabble tiles picture with all the names of the family crisscrossing each other hung at the top of the stairs, if I take out one of the descriptive words I should be able to fit in 'Olive', as only one of the original letters won't be covered up, so hope it doesn't look too messy!

Thanks everyone once again.

Good morning it's a lovely day, congratulations B9 so happy for you and that all is well

Bye for now Laura we will miss you

I'm hoping that my new fence will arrive today it should have been here last week. I won't hold my breath

Planted up more begonias yesterday the only problem is that they are taking over the conservatory, I will be glad when they can go outside

URMS I watched a program that showed Malaga yesterday what a beautiful city it's a shame that most people only see the airport. I fancy a trip there when it's safer to travel

Have a good day everyone

Good morning all, it’s currently dry here in Lancashire with rain forecast for this afternoon. I have a huge pile of paperwork and junk mail to sift through and shred this afternoon. So many hospitalisations over the last 3 years has meant these things have mounted up. I’m looking forward to life being on a more even keel from now on, especially with the success of the vaccine rollout.

Urmstongran Thu 29-Apr-21 09:46:42

I like this Beechnut I like how you live your life Urms. It reminds me of something my brother once said to me.He (and his wife) wanted to live his life as if he was on holiday.. I shall remember it always too now! Spot on for me really as 2 small spaces = not much maintenance and plenty of leisure time. I never did want the tail to wag the dog in retirement!
I am very lucky I know, as I ❤️ my life.

As regards childcare I said right from the start I always wanted to be a grandma, as an extra pair of hands occasionally or for ‘fun’ stuff, not a surrogate mum - I love the smalls dearly but I’m not factored into set days. If we were, we’d never be able to get over to Malaga!

LauraNorder ? I shall miss you. Don’t stay away too long.

Sorry to hear the sad news about your little companion Ellianne but it sounds as though, living with you, he’s had the best life. It’s all any of us can wish for.

Emily49 Thu 29-Apr-21 09:48:08

Congratulations, B9!
Oh, Marydoll, your post had me in stitches again - hilarious! I can’t imagine what it’s like at your house - no-one else has such adventures doing their everyday tasks! Those vaccine nurses don’t know what they’re in for! And your short hair!! Oh, now I’ve set myself off giggling again. Unbelievable, no-one tells stories of the mundane like you do!

Urmstongran Thu 29-Apr-21 09:50:54

Malaga is indeed a beautiful city Roses with a gorgeous cathedral, shopping to die for on the Calle Larios, and a fabulous beach and paseo too. Our Yorkshire Lass wishes she could live there!

Mapleleaf Thu 29-Apr-21 10:13:57

Morning all,

No Pilates today, which feels a bit strange, but it resumes next week.

Hairdresser today - yay ?. My hair is touching my shoulders, which is long for me, so looking forward to going and getting it tidied up.

A breezy and chilly morning today, and frost forecast for overnight, so gardeners in my neck of the woods, beware. It's frustrating, as I've got some plants that are ready for going out, but the frost will just kill them off, so they'll have to stay where they are for another week or so until this cold snap has passed.

I hope you all enjoy a decent day, and those of you with troubles I do hope today will bring you some comfort.

Take care.

NannyJan53 Thu 29-Apr-21 10:14:17

Good morning from a cloudy but bright Black Country.

MrJ is off on a site visit this morning (he is doing some consultancy work for a friend). So I am going to take myself off to Merry Hill (or Merry Hell as it's called round here). I have vouchers from my birthday last September still to spend.

I have to agree Urmston about Malaga. We haven't been for 2 years now, and doubt we will get there this year. We like to stay in Malaga for a week, then onto Benalmadena Peublo for a few days. Hopefully we can make it September 2022!

Congratulations to B9 on the safe arrival.

So sorry to her about your dear cat Elliane flowers

Take care Laura hope to see you soon

Good Morning all from a very overcast Cornwall. No rain was forecast but the sky is saying the opposite. Fingers crossed.

GrandMattie Those tubs sound lovely.
Laura. Take care and I hope it's not too long before we hear from you. I wonder if you will pop in occasionally as an observer.
Ellianne I'm wondering if you've got to the vets yet (nearly 10.00 as I type this).
Corner and Greyduster I must definitely get a kneeler. I have a really good pad but it's more to help me get back up again than anything.
Jax Wow - love the tiled path. What's his next project?
Urmston crass comments really hurt. I'm still flabbergastered at something my lovely daughter said about me last night. I can't do right from wrong it seems. I hope you enjoyed your walk despite the comment.
B9 Lovely news. A two year gap between siblings has it's disadvantages and advantages.

We are awaiting the delivery of an exhaust for my car. Then MrM will fit it. Hopefully tomorrow I will be mobile again. I've warned MrM that we must have a second car. We are so isolated where we live. His car's been off the road dismantled for 2 1/2 years now. I owe my farmer neighbour a big bottle of rum for helping when the exhaust broke on Tuesday. I'd just reached the top of our track when it happened. Limped back home and he took me to pick Mya up from the dog creche.

Time for my second coffee. Paper work and a tax return to do today and some seeds to prick out. Nothing from my son about his interview. I'll wait till after my granddaughter has had her hospital appointment tomorrow and then I'll get in touch over the weekend. More fingers crossed.

Well done with all the 2nd vaccines. Take care everyone.

Feelingmyage55 Thu 29-Apr-21 10:43:39

Good morning from a very wet north of Scotland.
B9 lovely news.
Sar. Should you waken your husband and get him checked out?

Have the best day you can.

EllanVannin Thu 29-Apr-21 11:01:24

Good Morning All x.
Sunny but boy does it stay cold. My fingers are like icicles as I try and type, so wrapping my hands round a cuppa. grin
Just back from the INR so don't go until the 27th of May. I'd been every Thursday this month as the result has been up and down like a fiddlers elbow.

I don't know whether to risk doing a wash as there are one or two ominous clouds about even though the sun's nice and warm. There's nothing urgent that needs doing so I'll wait and see.

After filling charity bags nobody came to pick them up. This has happened before and I end up putting the bags in the shed where they quickly pile up. What a nuisance.

LauraNorder you'll get loads done now, as I know what it's like as soon as you sit down for a coffee, you're online again for another couple of hours. Don't stay away too long though, although you'll know when you're ready to return.

Best Wishes to mum and baby for yesterdayflowers
Glad all went well with procedures etc. that one or two of you had this week.

Emily49 I love Marydoll and her antics and I too have laughed many a time. Although she's a very unwell lady she still finds humour somewhere in whatever she does.

Thoughts to harrigran and Auntieflo who are having it tough at present flowers

It's clouded over now so I'll give the washing a miss and tidy up instead.

Thinking of Ellianne and the poorly pet. I know how distressing it can be.

I wish everyone a good day and hoping Ashcombe feels a bit better and anyone else out of sorts.
Take care everyone and stay safe xx

Auntieflo Thu 29-Apr-21 11:04:28

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all.
Gosh, I didn't wake up until 9.30 this morning. DH said he didn't have the heart to wake me, and so I had a very lukewarm cup of tea beside the bed. It must have been a build up of all the painkillers that I took during the day.
Many congratulations to B9exchange and the family, on the arrival of a new granddaughter. How lovely to have a new baby cuddle to look forward to.
Ellianne, sorry to hear the news about your cat, but it sounds as though he had a good life.
I am sad that LauraNorder, is leaving us for a bit, but it must be the right thing for her to do at the moment.
I haven't really had the chance to read all the 'doings' this morning, so will leave you all with best wishes for a good day, while I go and catch up properly.

NanaPlenty Thu 29-Apr-21 11:16:04

Good morning everyone. A little cloudy in Ashtead this morning and a wee bit fresh but going to chance putting the washing out. Have a good day everyone (feeling very hay fevery - anyone else suffering?)

gillgran Thu 29-Apr-21 11:19:15

Good Morning to you all from another dry day in Cambs.,

Cambridge city is sounding great Brook, I was envying you in the lovely Botanic gardens, with family nearby, (yours & mine!).!

Take care Laura, we will miss you & your sense of humour.

B9exchange, happy news, are you saying a grand-daughter, called Olive? That's lovely, congratulations.

There are so many posts on here now, by the time I've finished reading, I confuse who's done what, & if I go back to check, I lose my post, so end up not sending, or getting it wrong. So apologies to those I've missed.

Warm wishes to you all, especially those with extra worries & woes. flowers

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 29-Apr-21 11:25:51

Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate
DD1 called this am so I blame her for my late post!
LauraNorder. will miss you and news from a beautiful Island, come back when you are ready!! I, too, look on you all as my friends!
Ellianne sorry about your cat - our furry friends are so precious. Baubles sorry about your uncle. I have one remaining aunt, she is 95, blind and deaf so difficult to communicate with. She is in a home in Hampshire near her daughter and very happy.
My DH has a hospital appointment today, funnily enough I am hoping we have time for a rummage in TKMax after!!

Have as best day as you can folks!

hollysteers Thu 29-Apr-21 11:39:02

Good morning Mick and all from a mixed up weather wise northwest Lancashire coast.
Firstly congratulations to B9exchange, always a miracle, a new life.
More of the same today, although restrictions have eased, I wonder if others feel like me and have lost the organising gene? And seem to have retreated somewhat in terms of getting in touch with people? Also I don’t fancy sitting in a chill wind and the ch went back on yesterday as could not get warm in this draughty house. I’m like Urmston, need warmth and never happier than in 25c and able to throw a cotton frock on and saunter off.
Thoughts to harrigran, Cherry, Auntieflo, Marydoll and anyone with worries.
Will read through later.

Ellianne Thu 29-Apr-21 13:21:17

Thank you for you kind wishes. We raced to the vets as it opened but the right decision was to let the dear cat go peacefully.
Now happily chasing anything that moves in some other world.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 29-Apr-21 13:30:13

Ellianne sorry ?

muse Thu 29-Apr-21 13:35:38

You had 15 lovely years with dear cat Ellianne. Sad news though. Take care.

Auntieflo Thu 29-Apr-21 13:47:24

Ellianne. sorry to hear that sad news. ? for you.

Puzzler61 Thu 29-Apr-21 13:51:24

So sorry Ellianne, you will miss that beautiful black furry boy who shared your life for the last 15 years, but we have to let them go.
We have photo’s around the house of all the cats we have had over the past 40 odd years and they remain in our hearts, as I’m sure your dear cat will.
He had a wonderful long life.

Sunnyoutlook Thu 29-Apr-21 14:07:04

Ellianne You know you gave him the best life everflowers

Ellianne Thu 29-Apr-21 14:10:11

Thanks, yes, he was a rescue cat from the SPA (like our RSPCA). The French think black cats are unlucky so he was about to be
