Good Morning Wednesday
(98 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its cloudy and its been raining as well here in Brackley .
Yesterdays , trip out was not to bad , and being able to sit inside and have a coffee plus , was a bonus.
The only downside there seem to be fewer people about , or was it the time of the week , yet places like Bicester retail Village seem to be getting the numbers by car, rail and bus .
Today, small shop, and then watch an interesting stage to start week 2 of the Giro , as it it contains 4 gravel sections .
Take Care,
Mick
Good Morning everyone, sunny but chilly here. When will we get some heat ?
Lots of thoughts for Grandmajet
Good morning Mick, morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.
Happy birthday Ashcombe, enjoy your day. Scentia your plans for the day sound just lovely, yours too Sar, my best wishes to your DD.
Grandmajet. You will be in my thoughts.
I’m meeting a friend for lunch indoors today although if the sun continues to shine we may very well take one of the outside tables. Sod’s Law.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.
Every good wish for tomorrow grandmajet and the recovery days which follow. So many kind and positive thoughts winging their way to you from all your GN chums.
Good morning all from a fairly bright but cold morning here on the east coast of Fife. I’ve a busy day today food shopping at Lidl’s then on to my opticians. My DH Seems to be cranky this morning I’ll just have to tolerate it otherwise we’ll both be at hammer and tongs. Bat ball bat ball as my DS would say. I’m so looking forward to the family coming to stay over in a weeks time. We’ll still keep safe and dae as we’re telt, it’s crucial to keep the virus under control.
Have a good day everyone enjoy these moments of freedom.
Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s a lovely sunny morning. I’m off to join friends for a walk today.
Happy birthday Ash. Enjoy your day with your family.
Big hugs for you Grandmajet I hope all goes well tomorrow and you are soon on the road to recovery.
Marydoll enjoy your day. I remember going to Butlins at Ayr as a child.
Lots of positive posts today which is lovely.
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.
Morning from a very sunny S Lanarkshire.
Happy Birthday Ashcombe, a day with your daughter, a perfect gift.
My local daughter has sold her house near me and is moving today to the nearby small town we lived in while she was growing up. They are going to rent there for a while in a very nice flat, while they decide whether they really do want to settle there, which I think is a sensible plan.
A trip to the library this morning, where I hope someone will help me reset my online membership , which I have managed to jigger, and a walk and coffee with a friend.
Grandmajet, you will be very much in my prayers until we see you again?, and wishing a good day to all.
Good morning from sunny Cheshire. Happy birthday Ashcombe - you are a mere youngster. Thinking of you Grandmajet and wishing you all the luck in the world. Have only managed to read one page so far . Wishing the best day possible to all and will catch up later. Ellianne your post made me laugh. To misquote "felt sorry for the seabream but they tasted wonderful"
Good morning all. Blue skies and clouds again in Polmont. Yesterday we had a few heavy downpours which will save me watering the garden but not the pots. They'll need a good soak. Grandmajet all good wishes for you tomorrow. I'm another who will be thinking of you. Ashcombe happy birthday to you. I hope you have a lovely day with your dd. Like Marydoll I've never had a head teacher who would have been so kind and thoughtful.
Today I'm visiting mum then nipping to Stirling to see ds and have a coffee with him. He's on holiday and is going further north with his partner for a few days. Apart from that, the day will be quiet. I also have to pick up my prescription which I should have done last week but forgot. Have a good day all
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny ?Northampton, but showers forecast again in the afternoon.
I spent yesterday morning cutting the front grass then an hour on the garden kneeler digging up all the dandelions; the lawn is now dotted with unsightly holes where they were. I then took heed of the forecast and cut the back grass as well, then retired worn out indoors for a coffee and lunch.
Of course the forecast was wrong and we got no rain in the afternoon!
Spent all afternoon unsuccessfully trying to set up the NHS app, but for some reason it will not accept my video ID. Might wait and try again when I get my new phone, as I might not have the system needed on my very old phone.
Not much on the cards today - finish my Sainsbury's order for tomorrow, wash the kitchen floor which I hate doing, then knitting and reading.
Happy birthday Ash, hope you have a lovely day with your family.
Grandmajet, hope all goes well for you.
Jax, I too have Flightradar and love it!
Hope the ? shines on us all today.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire and thankfully the wind seems to have dropped. It made for a chilly walk yesterday. Yesterday’s first return visit to the dentist saw me with a clean bill of health and DH skewered for the hygienist once again, poor man. His lament is “I pay far more attention to my teeth than you do and this is the thanks I get!” I expect my turn will come, but it never has yet.
Nothing much planned today. I may make a cake and start the monumental task of sorting out the border in the front garden.
A very Happy Birthday to Ashcombe???. Enjoy your day!
Have a good one, folks.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Happy Birthday Ash have a lovely day ??.It's good to read people are seeing family and friends .We are having some windows replaced today so stuck in .
Hope all goes well tomorrow Grandmajet??Take care everyone .
Happy birthday Ash
Grandma jet sending you a big hug for tomorrow
Haircut this morning then going for two new tyres this afternoon and more potting to do
Hope everyone has a good day
Good morning from a fabulous sunny Durham. I’ve a masked appointment with a different solicitor later in an attempt to get a Statutory Declaration signed re. DH’s ‘estate’.
Happy Birthday Ash - my SIL lives near Crewe.
Grandmajet - wishing you well with your treatment.
Pleased Harri doesn’t seem as stressed - hope not anyway.
I’m planning a small BabyShower for DD2 in the garden on Saturday, so hoping it’s a day like today and no rain!
We have some sun this morning, but not exactly May weather.
Happy Birthday Ash, how wonderful to get your hugs, and enjoy your trip out. It is another GNter's birthday today, Maywalk is 91. She took a bit of a pasting trying to bring in a bit of levity yesterday, and her family celebrations postponed again, so let's hope she had a better day today.
Grandmajet prayers and thoughts with you, hope someone can give us news on how you are getting on until you feel up to it?
Have been feeling a bit down this week, the two DS's and their families I was hoping to be able see soon haven't returned my texts suggesting a meeting, sent on Sunday, though they have read them. Hope others are having better luck and am truly thrilled for those who are finally getting those longed for hugs, keep the good news coming!
Good morning, Mick and All from a sunny but chill Carlisle.
You have gone in the right direction for sun Ashcombe! I wonder if Keele Services will ever be better than ghastly? In our many trips up and down the country over the decades we avoided it like the plague if we could. But Happy Birthday and a great day out for you.
It's a housework catch up day for me and probably a bit of people chasing over the phone...some things don't happen as promptly as I think they should.
I hope every one has a good day and that rain disappears from down south.
Good morning from the north west where the sun is making an appearance.
Although I have yet to read your posts, I have noticed it’s Ashcombe’s 70+1 birthday. Many happy returns!
???
My fingers are crossed that all goes well for you tomorrow grandmajet and that you’re soon back on the mend. Your positivity amazes me.
???
Keep safe and find something to make you smile. x
.
Good morning everyone. Brilliant blue skies this part of the Scottish Borders. Today is my first day with a "moonboot". Yesterday had cast removed. Frankly terrified. Staff so pleasant and positive but here at home I am being rather a wuss. I need to change my mindset and focus on the fact my bone has healed and everyday I should be getting closer to what I was before. I seem to have lost my confidence. Apologies for talking about such a trivial issue. I read your posts and am aware that people are struggling with colossal dilemmas and situations. Have a good and safe day everyone.
grandmajet Wishing you all the best following your surgery. You will be in my thoughts.
grandmajet I will be thinking of you over the coming days and hope that all goes well with your surgery and recovery. Look forward to you posting again when you are feeling able to.
brook my Twitter name is super gran, chosen years ago when I first became a granny. I don’t normally tweet but follow some interesting people. As I get older I don’t feel much of a super granny anymore but I try my best. Poor DH does miss out but as he retired 10 years ago he is used to sharing me with all my other commitments
Good Morning All x. Happy Birthday Ashcombe x.
Sunny with a bit more cloud than yesterday and also cooler with more of a breeze coming right off the sea. It's bright enough though.
Very best wishes for a speedy recovery for the next few weeks Grandmajet
Hope all goes well. x.
Some happy meetings some emotional but whatever the occasions have the best of times.
I enjoyed another couple of hours in the garden with neighbours yesterday after having done a bit of washing, drying merrily----the excitement's too much
Just finished a 50 minute phone-call from a friend, nice and unexpected, so have arranged to meet up later in the summer when the weather's more settled.
Looking at those fish on the grill earlier made me feel hungry so I had to do the crumpets and hot choc. Bream is lovely, I've had Red Snapper--same family of fish.
Good wishes go to your DD Sar in the hope that she can get sorted with her problem.
Glad that Marydoll isn't doing so badly now, a great relief to have a bit of a respite from physical problems.
If I don't make some headway with this post I'll be here at 4pm.
Wishing everyone well and a good day. Take care and stay safe one and all and extra care on the road. xx
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest Lancashire coast. GD arriving today to and I have set aside photos for her from years ago, newly born etc and a baby spider plant. I’m enjoying putting the babies from the main spider plant in little pots. That’s one plant my brown thumb (not green finger) can keep alive along with a cactus.
Even though it gets sunny, I haven’t been able to keep warm recently so big decisions what to wear! Having to resort to the good old fashioned British cardigan.
My IBS stomach seems a bit calmer today, so will tiptoe around it.
Dogsmakemesmile it’s quite understandable you feel worried, everything going wrong at the moment seems worse than usual. I worry more about the future myself and hope you feel more like your old self day by day.
All the best to grandmajet?
Good Morning to Mick??♂️and all. It's a lovely Cornish sunnyish day here. Temp is up slightly but forecast says it's set to plummet in a couple of days. Hopefully no frost. Our little frost pocket has had enough.
Happy birthday?Ashcombe. Welcome to the 70+1 club. Have a brilliant day. ☕️
Lots of comings and goings in the Jax abode today. Sounds like your garden will be awash with colour and joy.?
Gingster. A bluebell wood is so uplifting. Thank you for the photo.
Thinking lots of positive thoughts for you grandmajet.
Dogsmakemesmile. It doesn't matter how small or huge our situations and dilemmas are they are all hurdles to over come. None are trivial. Talking about them helps towards gaining confidence and courage to face the days ahead.
B9 It is emotional when family are long in replying to our texts but drop them a little nudge today. I have a son, who's the master at not replying.
BlueSapphire I put the NHS app on my phone last night and set it all up. It's working OK but there was no request for a my photo. Which part of the setting was this on? I have an iphone8.
Urm and Jax I helicopter watch. We can hear the new super big red Cornwall Hospital air rescue one coming from miles away. It's so fast. A massive £2m was raised for it. Then there's the Western Power Line check one chugging along.
MrM is quietly simmering in the corner. He's had a letter from his NHS dentist. She is going private and the other NHS dentists at the practice are full so can't take him. He's been with them for over 20 years.
I'm off to get the car washed today, take Mya for a different walk, drop rubbish off at the dump and hopefully finish cutting the grass later today. No more car research as an Audi garage have one coming in soon and he will give me a ring. MrM still has the propshaft to put back on mine.
One month to go and my daughter and granddaughter will be here. Miss them so much. Then hopefully dear son will visit in 3 months time.
Lots of hugs for everyone. It warms me to read so many of you getting them.
Thank you hollysteers I am feeling a lot better now. I think I need to keep myself busy or I slump. Still lovely sunshine here and elevenses soon!
