I found the key that soop left.
I must complain that getting down to retrieve keys then getting up again is very tricky! Please leave them in a more accessible place in future.
Anyway here’s a bottle of Dom Perignon and a large iced bowl of caviar to open the kitchen!
( we’re going posh this time!

Hi all, MrJ and I were at the allotment this morning where he assembled the new brassica cage, I put in runner beans, sweet peas, my new courgette plants and sowed more beetroot and French beans. DD and GC’s popped in to pick up the potted wisteria we bought her. She’s thinking of booking a cruise around the British isles for them this summer, just four days.
My Mum died in September 2919, after 10 years of dementia, my so when she died, ‘Mum’ had long gone. However, we all inherited significant amounts of money lady year. This is my long winded way of saying Mum and Dad loved cruises and they would be very happy with DD spending some of her inheritance on this.
We went to the pub for the weekly meat draw, won nothing, but a landmark in our normality, first one for seven months.
Poised for 9 and watching Time too.
Enjoy your evenings.
The picture is for panache may she find a glimmer in the painful journey ahead x

Good evening kitcheners, a tiring but very satisfying day. We had fitted wardrobes installed when we moved into this house 24 years ago. They’re looking a bit tired, things have shifted and slipped and out of shape. Not unlike Mr B and self really ?. We’re thinking of having them removed as we’re not sure if they can be renovated. So we’ve been emptying, sorting, dusting, chucking things out ruthlessly. There’s some awful old junk in there. There are also some rather nice things that will be going to various charity outlets. We’re now hot, tired and dusty so chilling with a raspberry G&T. Mr. B. made a simple Sunday dinner in the ninja, it really is a marvellous machine. Chicken breasts, baby potatoes in their skins and sweet fresh green peas. It cooks chicken beautifully, cooked all the way through, tender and moist. Well worth the price. It’s been a lovely sunny day, now mellowing out. Hope you have all had a good weekend and some respite from any troubles.

BladeAnnie Mon 07-Jun-21 17:23:33

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. Thank you everyone for all your kind comments on my photo - I really dislike having my piccie taken too!! Duncan is happily back into his regular routine with primary servant (me) and number 2 servant Mr BA ?. How did everyone enjoy Time with the gorgeous Sean Bean?? I watched it this afternoon iplayer and can't wait to watch the next two episodes. Gripping viewing even if you are not a Sean Bean fan. I finished a blanket for a friend of DD2 who is expecting a baby in August - just after DD1s little boy is due. I was going to post a photo yesterday but then I read Panache's heartbreaking post and suddenly it didn't matter. Corned beef hash on the menu tonight - already made and just needs grated cheese on the top and 20 minin the oven. Hope everyone has a pleasant evening and sending gentle virtual hugs to all who are in need of a little comfort ?

A relatively quiet day, boring housework am…bathrooms, hoovering, washing, voluntary work this afternoon. The weather has been erratic too, cloud for ages, some sun, then cloud cover. Good for the garden though, minimal watering tonight. Hope soop gets her connections resolved soon. BladeAnnie what a clever Mrs you are, so delicate, it looks as soft as a cloud. muse I hope your son’s first day has gone well, not that he’d tell you, children, tsk, tsk.
Enjoy your evening all.

Grandmabatty Mon 07-Jun-21 19:52:05

Good evening all. It's been very warm here in Polmont. The boy wonder and I have been out at the swings and in the garden. I've watered the garden and had a nap so I'm ready for tomorrow babysitting. I have attached a quick painting of bluebells I did yesterday at art in the garden workshop. My main painting of a peony rose is a work in progress but I'm very happy with it so far. I'll share it once it's done.

Hellogirl1 Mon 07-Jun-21 20:46:00

BladeAnnie, what a lovely photo, and you both look so happy. I`m glad the weather stayed nice for your big day.
Panache, I`m so sorry to hear the turn things have taken for your man. I will keep you in my thoughts.
I`ve missed such a lot over the last 2 days, so please forgive me for not including all that has happened.
This is what sweet, innocent Billy has done to his brand new cat scratching post

‘Evening All’.

A busy day. Our daughter is Key Stage One lead and science lead at the junior school in Trafford where she works. Had much to prepare on her laptop for back to work next Monday. We swapped homes. She came here to our apt for 6 hours of peace & quiet to work. We took the smalls ON A BUS (li’l miss was SO excited as she had never been on one at 4y old) to a local independent cafe - 8 stops on the bus.

Of course they wanted to go upstairs on the top deck!! You forget how a bus lurches about (!) and so navigating the steps down after they had both pressed the ‘STOP’ red button was quite an experience (and a tad stressful).

Back to theirs to chill then Grandad took the boy wonder on a bike ride (where does he find his energy at 70y next birthday? I was pooped).

Mummy home at 5pm. ‘Bye bye children, we love you very much, see you soon!’ and we came home. Parked up and off to a bar to relax with 2 well deserved scoops each!

Eaten & about to watch another episode of ‘Time’ the drama from last night, it’s so good.

The photo isn’t Dixon tonight. It’s the view from our balcony at 8pm as I was eating some pizza an hour ago.

Hope we all have a peaceful Ishtar ahead. x

Yiayia4 Mon 07-Jun-21 21:00:23

That’s excellent Grandmabatty. How nice to paint in the garden.
What a naughty cat Billy no treats for you.
I’ve had a rubbish achy day ?oh well tomorrow will be better.
Thinking of you Panache?
Sleep well Kitcheners.

Blossoming Mon 07-Jun-21 21:10:39

Haha HelloGirl I love the ‘Who, me?’ Look on Billy’s face.

Good evening kitcheners, it’s been a very warm day here, feeling heavy. It seems to be cooling down now, thank heavens. I don’t sleep well when it’s hot. We have ordered our new car, a Honda CR V EX. It’s a petrol/electric hybrid that doesn’t need plugging in. We had a test drive and it’s a lovely quiet smooth ride. I’ve spent today talking to my fund manager and shifting money around ready to pay for it. It should be here in about a month. Realistically it’s probably the last new car we’ll buy, as it should last at least 10 years. If I last another 10 years I’ll have done amazingly well ?. We have plans to enjoy traveling in it, once we are able.

Urmstongran Mon 07-Jun-21 21:11:55

*Ishtar?.

What even is that? I didn’t know it was a word so can’t be predictive text!!

Blossoming Mon 07-Jun-21 21:18:50

Dunno Urms, but I’m just enjoying a lemon gin to celebrate it!

Happy Ishtar ?

Urmstongran Mon 07-Jun-21 21:26:48

Hehe! ‘Happy Ishtar!’ Sounds good Blossoming but it might even be rude. Who knows? I’m off to Google it!

Urmstongran Mon 07-Jun-21 21:30:17

“Easter was originally the celebration of Ishtar, the Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility and sex. ... After Constantine decided to Christianize the Empire, Easter was changed to represent Jesus. But at its roots, Easter (which is how you pronounce Ishtar) is all about celebrating fertility and sex.”

“Ooh-er Mother!” Who knew?
?

muse Mon 07-Jun-21 21:32:49

?Evening to all.

It's felt an odd day today. Can't think of another word to describe it. I had a few things planned to get done and not managed one. Once in a while when the wind comes from the south we get no noise from the distant A30. Today was such. Only noise is from the birds and the occasional tool bursting into life from mrM. Spent longer than I planned cutting lawn grass edges. Hate it!
Loving my anemones though.

Mixed weather today. The morning was very chilly. So I decided on long sleeve fleece and joggers. By 2:00pm I'd gone back to warm weather clothes. These piles winter and summer clothes will never get sorted.

We grabbed the last bit of the sun and ate outside. Spiced pork and rice dish.

Urm I'd like a bit of his energy please.
Panache. Hope the conference for your DH goes well tomorrow.
A few of you are recommending Time with Sean Bean. It sounds a tad tense in places but I plan to watch it tonight.
Jax Dear Son text says he will ring later this week grin.

Doodle Mon 07-Jun-21 21:43:44

Hello all.
Urms love the photo from your balcony. We live in a flat too.
Nice to look out and see the world going by. We have boats though, not trains ?
Panache very much in my thoughts too.
