Yet another *Soops* kitchen for all us like minded people

I have appeared GF. Having read your post I found I couldn’t concentrate on anybody else’s until I had photographed the eye lotion bottle. I don’t know about dithering soop but I can only concentrate on one thing at a time now and I’m sure that’s an age thing. Thinking about it on definitely not as decisive as I once was, i.e dithering.

It’s La Roche-Posay Grandmafrench and as I did take the photos I’ll hopefully be able to post them in a minute. My eyes are still a bit sore but I think it’s a combination of the glaucoma drops which irritate and the heat. Combined with the multitude of insects that want to bite me I sometimes wonder why I’m here. ??‍♀️
Most of the time I remember why, when I’m covering myself in anti bite lotion or can’t sleep because it’s so hot I’m not so sure.

dustyangel - “wi if” came from autocorrect even though I proof read the piece. But actually it does sound depressingly accurate as a description of Soop’s situation. Sometimes the computer does know best ………

soop, enjoy your Highland 'fling'. I am full of envy, though I know it's a deadly sin. The air in the Highlands is just different from anywhere else, so a good lung-full will stand you both in good stead. Hoping for all week.
Sorry to hear about Henry's mishap on the climbing frame, Susan, but relieved for you that it didn't happen on your watch. When DS2 was 2, he got in the way of a swing and had a very conspicuous black eye. The next day, he was due for a routine appointment in hospital and I could only imagine what the other parents in the waiting room were thinking... Hope H's bruises fade quickly. A nine hour wait for an ambulance for your FiL seems rather excessive . I thought 40 minutes was too long when I broke my shoulder! Anyway, as he is now in a 'normal' ward, the wait probably didn't make matters worse.

Good morning you lovely lot. The internet remains iffy. Since yesterday, we've had four "cut-offs". As you can imagine, there has been some colourful expletives circulating in this part of the world.

I just wanted the opportunity to say that I am pleased to read of some good news and, I can also empathise with Susan when she heard of Henry's fall.

I've been awfully busy since rising from my bed. Masses to do. Cleaning both the inside and exterior of Fern's apartment is next on the list.

Is dithering an age-thing? Do enlighten me, please? I have the packing to do. Have I made my mind up yet? Short answer is, no.

Anyway, I am happy to leave you lot in charge of our kitchen. I know that you will all continue to support each other. In the event of a new kitchen needing to be opened, please will you decide who will do the honours. When I return, I shall hasten to join you and boy, will I have some catching up to do.

Our neighbour will be standing in for us. The weather forecast is favourable.

Until we meet again, my thoughts will remain with you. You are very special peoples.

Mother in law has just phoned to say FIL has been moved to a ‘normal’ ward and isn’t with all the old people now.He’s 93!

Enjoy every minute of your break soop, you both deserve to. Can’t help with the packing. I always take what I need multiplied by three. After 52 years Mr C is well used to it, smiles benignly and (wisely) says nothing.

Get well wishes for your father in law susan, it does rather feel as if life has it in for you and yours at the moment. Tough for you too kitty, waiting for news is very hard.

Thoroughly enjoyable day today. Ventured into a large shopping centre before our home grown hurricane’s garden party. His excitement was infectious, the sun shone, everyone was smiling. We then ate in a local pub with another son and his daughters, excellent food, so lucky to see them all in one day. We’re shattered now. So TOYA and sleep well. Night night everyone.

Some problems interfering with the smooth running of the Kitchen. So sad about that darling little chap’s face, Susan. Two good things: he’ll heal and it wasn’t a disaster; and you weren’t in charge. (Ok, 3 things.) So please don’t torment yourself. ! Fingers crossed for your FiL.

I’m off to commune with nature since it’s watering time …again! Just as well we have a forage (our own underground water source). It’s 28 degrees outdoors nowand cats (cheeky as ever) are stretched out on sun beds, catching some rays and watching the world go by. What a hard life they have.

An hours strenuous digging at the allotment, walk to the pub, sorry Wales and back, I’m off watering. Greenhouse, hanging basket (under porch) and window boxes, the latter under the eaves. Cottage pie on its way soon with veg.

Susan poor Henry ? I hope he’s better soon and how fortunate you weren’t looking after him when it happened. I live in dread of something happening to the DGC whilst we’re looking after them, it’s my worse nightmare. I do hope your FiL receives appropriate care too. It must be a difficult time for you
Our day didn’t go as planned today, we were going to go out walking but DD messaged this morning asking if we could look after DGS so we picked him up and took him out for most of the day. Really enjoyed it but boy - how much food can a 7 year old pack away ?? You honestly can’t fill him up right now and he looks so skinny - oh to be young again !! Anyhow we’re home now with the wine open and a nice and easy pasta dish on the go, ready for a quiet evening

Not much to report here. We went to the Van Gogh interactive experience yesterday. It was very good especially the virtual reality part but it was spoilt by a group of 16 year old school children who did not have a clue about social distancing.

Susan, I do feel your relief that H’s accident didn’t happen on your watch. Why do we feel so much guiltier than we ever did when our own children had mishaps? Hope he feels better soon and has learned to respect the equipment. It’s all very well being fearless but it can be worrying as well.

I am once again behind on everyone’s news due to a stressful couple of days.

FIL is in hospital after a nine hour wait for an ambulance.He is in the same NHS trust as panache’s dear husband so we have a rocky road to travel.

Henry has fallen off a climbing frame and his poor little face is very bruised and cut on one side?I am grateful we weren’t in charge of him when it happened.DH and I had stopped taking him to the park where it happened as we felt there should have been guard rails on the piece of equipment he fell off.

Jax and muse, I hope your daughters are both feeling better soon.Its such a worry when our children are unwell no matter how old they are?

TOYA and hope to be back when things are calmer?

MANY thanks yet again to our dear Baggs for stepping in and conveying my tale of woe. Well, she is right, we are back online. For how long? Who knows. This business has frustrated us beyond measure. The engineer was very pleasant AND he performed a wee miracle. Hence, I'm back where I belong, here in our kitchen.

Jax You win a good Mum award. As do many of you lovely lot.

I am trying to work out what and what not to pack for a wee break. Quite frankly, I feel that my confidence is at a very low ebb. I keep dithering and am driving myself potty as a result.

We have to leave all manner of foodstuffs for birds and our cat in readiness for our dear neighbour who will be stepping in to take care of everything during our brief absence.

I fully intend being here with you again tomorrow. And now, having said thank you to Baggs and hello to my Granspals, I have jobs to faff over. It feels good to be back in circulation. Miracles do happen from time to time.

I went to a farmer’s market this morning, that didn’t happen.
It is usually on the last Saturday morning of the month.
I intended to buy fruit, veg and salad.
So I popped in for a cuppa with my sister instead and stopped off at Aldi for the salad etc. on the way home.

Didn’t quite expect to be back on GN today.
DD and DGD were due to arrive about now but DD too poorly (migraine) to drive. Nearly a six hour drive. She’s hoping to be better tomorrow.
Times like this I want to jump in the car to look after her
