This is a headline from an American magazine last September. Considering the last president was publicly known for a popular tv program what do you rate her chances?

Oh Suzie I know full well what it means - I choose my words quite carefully, including the word 'we'.

If all you have left is "Look, look, she swore" in a forum full of adults who thrive on innuendo you are seriously clutching at straws. ?

Lucca Sun 21-Feb-21 21:41:05

By far the majority of posts/comments are anti Meghan and harry and always have been, those who find the endless criticism, sniping, prejudice against the pair hard to stomach are then accused of attacking posters ? Weird.
So if a thread is about Meghan and harry the only posts acceptable are those which criticise them ? Anyone who disagrees must keep, quiet ?

Galaxy Sun 21-Feb-21 21:41:21

I imagine suzie mentioned because she gets endless criticism for using the phrase FFS. Lots of people get very upset by those three letters.

Can I ask when you were appointed as moderators? Do you get badges, like prefects?

Ah, back to school. I'd like to say the good old days, but they weren't.

These are discussion forums. We are discussing MM. Some are against, some are for and some don't know what all the fuss is about.

Anniebach Sun 21-Feb-21 21:45:13

No Lucca but why not disagree and say why , why not praise them if you agree what they say and do

Overblown comments are also allowed, suziewoozie!

You can't dictate how people word things.

If I've told people this once, I've told them a million times

It's not up to you. It's not up to me.

People will post.

If you don't like it you can report it. It's that easy.

It might not get deleted though. Comments you find awful may well be acceptable by those in charge.

Excellent post! ?agree with every word. GN hasn’t ( quite)

You perhaps haven’t been on here long enough to realise quite how much some posters object to swearing, frequently equating it with a lack of intelligence. And as G says, even when it’s in acronym form. As there was no response to the word you used all I could think was that posters didn’t understand it’s objectional meaning. There couldn’t be another explanation so I thought I’d help to prevent any possible future embarrassment.

Galaxy Sun 21-Feb-21 21:48:46

I quite like the fact that they said no I dont want to do this. I think lots of people would be a lot happier if they did that. One of the threads that I found really sad on this forum was a regrets thread, it was mostly people saying they wouldnt have got married, they would have travelled instead of doing what was expected of them. So I admire the fact that they said no.

NellG Sun 21-Feb-21 21:49:31

Fair enough Galaxy, as an example I can't stomach the rather unsavoury borderline sexual fantasies in some of the more 'fun' threads - but as I'm a grown up I tend to stay out and ignore it - each to their own. If anyone wants to call me on my language they can feel free, the comment I made to SW was between two people who clearly have no issue with profanity. Other people are free to avert their sensibilities if offended.

Lucca Sun 21-Feb-21 21:50:03

Annie, people have disagreed but they are accused of all sorts.
I’ve said before I don’t know the pair (any more than any of us do): I just get fed up when posters say what one or other of them “thought” or “planned”, we cannot possibly know that. Or when Meghan is described as “a second rate actress”. Or “ a two bit actress” and accusing her of gold digging.

Galaxy Sun 21-Feb-21 21:51:35

Bloody hell. I must have missed those threads Nell G grin

Maybe because it's easier to just post how vicious bilious nasty and poisonous it is several times without adding anything more constructive? Dunno really.

Hummm not sure it works like that on here. Posters in the past have said how upsetting they find it seeing swearing of any kind on here whether or not it’s in a post directed at them.

Anniebach Sun 21-Feb-21 21:55:11

Galaxy I agree but they didn’t say ‘we don’t want to do this’,
they wanted to pick and choose, one foot in one out.

Katherine Kent did much as a working royal for many years, she then decided she wanted out, taught music in schools, dropped her title Duchess of Kent,

NellG Sun 21-Feb-21 21:56:06

Suzie ? ? ? I'd focus on not letting your own knickers show if I were you.

Anniebach Sun 21-Feb-21 21:56:27

Hi Chewie

lemongrove Sun 21-Feb-21 21:56:29

The Sussex’s wanted ( want) everything their own way.Privacy and yet constant attention, a Royal lifestyle but without Royal responsibility ( or only on their own terms) Royal titles but living a Californian lavish and feted life there.Freedom to charge magazines huge sums for photographs , and do an Oprah tv interview ( no doubt for an eye watering sum of money). What they both seem to want is attention whilst pretending not to want it ‘don’t look at me, I’m shy!’ Sort of thing.I think they are an odd couple.

Thanks for the advice, it’s really nice of you but I’m fine honestly. Thanks for caring though

Anniebach Sun 21-Feb-21 22:06:11

Yes lemongrove so true. Who can forget they wanted privacy at the birth of their child, ok, but Harry made an announcement that there would be no announcement, baby born and he called the press to Windsor to talk much about what was suppose to be no announcement , then again called the press into Windsor for a photo shoot .

suziewoozie Sun 21-Feb-21 22:11:11

What does déja- vu mean? Anybody ? Anybody ?

lemongrove Sun 21-Feb-21 22:15:26

I know Annie it made me laugh at the time.?

Yeah. They're weird. But each to their own.

The reason MM still has an audience is because of interest like the interest on here.

NellG Sun 21-Feb-21 22:23:14

Suzie Oh I so do, the thought of you sitting there having no alternative but to pour out all your angst on here and poke at other posters tugs at my heart strings - I'm so glad we're friends now, you can insult me anytime you like if it makes you feel like life is worthwhile. grin

Galaxy Sun 21-Feb-21 22:25:47

I think I must be very shallow, I cant concentrate on anything now except wondering about the weird threads.
